Introduction:
People from all walks of life, all income levels, all colors, communities flattened, and all
age group has been affected. However, it becomes difficult to take start of their lives once
again particularly without of some worthy relationships. Katrina was the costliest
hurricane in the history of United States. in the result of Katrina hurricane, a great lost of
human lives and destruction of infrastructure used to be occurred. Rescue teams perhaps
play their best part for rejoining families. It is difficult to realize people that it no matters
with their social life and to their upcoming life as well. (Government of United States
(2010)). Disaster management used to become tougher in such uncertain conditions
because those, who used to be exaggerated by terrible hurricane continue to work to
recuperate the health and livelihood that they had before the storm. However, government
working used to rise up, and health facilitation emerge as severe problem at that time.
Volunteer teams, government rescue teams normally work together in order to pull out
stuck people from area of span of Katrina hurricane. People don’t able to get access to
food, medical facilities, and other related facilitation. Survivor rescue teams can not
perform up to the level until unless they are asked to safe residential at any cost.
Previously the span of Katrina hurricane was too large that rescue teams were getting
trouble to reach to vicinity. In the result of such life taking incidents, people will disperse,
and it would become difficult for teams to locate them, and give them first aid.

Management approach for Katrina hurricane:

As far as management techniques to reduce the consequences of Katrina hurricane is
concerned, management is supposed to have believe in preemptive measures. Expected
people should be trained well in order to remain safer in throughout the storm. On other
hand, food is the basic necessity of life. So, management is expected to preserve it in
safer manners. So, that it can help out the people in crucial time frame. People awareness
is necessary. Local administration should organize training sections, and workshops to
know people methods of survival. In 2005, Katrina hurricane made landfall on the gulf
coast of the United States of America. Storm put massive physical impact on the land,
and it scrunched the area of nine thousand miles. However, Orleans was approximately
flooded to eighty percent. Official estimate revealed that more than one and half million
of people directly affected while eight hundred thousand people were forced to leave
their residential land due to severe results of hurricane. On other hand, government each
came to survive its people via allocating a bigger portion of money to them. In following
case, management style should be more quick responsive, collaborative, and in short
servant leadership concept would be borrowed in following situation. (Huricane Katrina
disaster (2005))

Disaster management approaches:

In 2005, government of United States provided approximately 16.7 billion funds under
the department of housing and urban development. CDBG program designed to usher
people to rebuild damage houses as well as infrastructure of the country. However,
housing recovery campaign was run to make people settle again in previous localities. In
2006, united state sectary signed Missipi initial disaster action plan, and for this particular
reason a budget of 3.4 billion had been handed over. Hence, plan was to hand over

another episode of installment to home owners. In 2006, disaster plan was awarded with
the amount of 74 million, which were giving to rebuild houses of Indian and other
minorities groups, and it had to fulfill infrastructure needs as well. Secretary Jackson
approved to not impose tax deduction from affected people. However, disaster action
plan designates at least 70% of the funding to restore the state affordable housing stock.
US army corps of engineer put deadlock struggle for the sake of repairing and restoring
220 miles long floodwalls. Their generic aim was to improve hurricane protection
system, and protection system should safeguard people to higher possibilities, pumping
stations are being storm proofed. On other hand, floodgates have been at the outfall
canals to protect it against storm surge. Government put bane over tree cutting programs.
Federal government doesn’t want to leave any loophole in following procedure.
Approximately 59 separate construction projection are currently running, and which of
90% are being handled by corps engineers. Administration made engineers responsible to
design such a protection system, which can help out to people longer to hundred years
minimum. USA transportation department announced a budget of two million, which is
to be invested to improve transportation system. (Huricane Katrina disaster (2005))
