Summary of observation recorded at 0830 hours IST

MONSOON WATCH:

The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Lat.


24.0N/ Long. 60.0E, Lat. 24.0N/ Long. 70.0E, Jodhpur, Phalodi and Lat.
28.0N/ Long. 71.0E.
SUMMARY OF OBSERVATION RECORDED AT 0830 HRS OF 08-07-2016:

Available data indicates that rainfall occurred at many places over the state
Sikkim. Maximum temperature remained normal and Minimum temperature
remained above normal by 2C over most of the stations in Sikkim. Highest
Maximum temperature 33C was recorded at Mazitar (East Sikkim) and lowest
minimum temperature 18C was recorded at Mazitar (East Sikkim).
CHIEF AMOUNT OF RAINFALL RECEIVED SO FAR IN CM RECORDED AT 0830 HRS OF 08-07-2016:

Chungthang: 3; Tadong, Damthang, Namchi (AWS): 1 each;


SYNOPTIC SITUATION:
The well marked low pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh &
neighbourhood and associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6
km above mean sea level persists.
The trough at mean sea level from northwest Rajasthan to east-central Bay of
Bengal across Haryana, south Uttar Pradesh, centre of well marked low pressure
area, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal persists.

The western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan
& neighbourhood now lies over Jammu & Kashmir & neighbourhood between 2.1
km & 3.6 km above mean sea level."
