Theatre School program. Please let it be understood that neither Playhouse on the Square nor any

Class fee is $165 for one nine-week course for one student. Students taking
multiple courses receive $25 dollars off each course.

Basics for the

Beginning Actor

Mondays, 6:00pm-7:30pm

See a show at Playhouse and think, That looks like fun!?

Have you always wanted to try your hand at acting, but never
got around to it? If so, this class is for you. Participants will
explore character development and intention through scenes
and monologues. Students will also learn theatrical
terminology, where to look for performance opportunities, and
what to expect when auditioning for a play. This is the perfect
class for people who have always wanted to explore their
creative talents in a non-threatening, supportive environment.

Adult Classes
Whether you are a beginner who is exploring performance
for the first time or a seasoned performer continuing your
career, Playhouse on the Squares Adult Theatre School
classes offer theatrical training experience to suit any
need. Taught by prominent local theatre professionals,
our classes give students the opportunity to develop and
expand their

performance skills,
including
character
development, movement, voice, and an

awareness of
proper audition practices.
The class session spans eight weeks, which includes
seven weeks of
classwork/
rehearsal, and an
informal
showcase performance for family and friends the eighth
week.

Musical Theatre

Tuesdays, 7:00pm-8:30pm

Sing your heart out! Singing for musical theatre is not just
hitting the right notes, but also selling the song! Students in
this class will explore musical theatre songs, learn their singing
ranges, and prepare musical theatre pieces for the showcase.
Through this, participants will come to understand proper
selection of music for auditions, how to develop a through
song, and how to find comfortability on stage while singing.
This is a good class for everyone from the beginner to the
seasoned performer!

Mondays, 7:30pm-9:00pm
Do you have acting experience, yet want to hone your skills?
This class is for people who have taken either several acting
classes, performed in several plays, or both. Students can
expect to dig into character analysis, physicality, and vocal
production. Scenes from strong published plays will form the
backbone of the work and provide a challenge for people who
already have a basic understanding of the art form.

Classes are on
Mondays and Tuesdays,
beginning March 28 and 29.
