ELIGIBILITY
Candidateswhohavesecuredatleast55%marks(withoutroundingoff)inMastersDegreeorequivalentexaminationsfromuniversities/institutionsrecognisedby
UGC are eligible for this Test. The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to noncreamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with
disability(PWD)categorycandidateswhohavesecuredatleast50%marks(withoutroundingoff)inMastersdegreeorequivalentexaminationareeligibleforthis
Test.
CandidateswhohaveappearedorwillbeappearingatthequalifyingMastersdegree(finalyear)examinationandwhoseresultisstillawaitedorcandidateswhose
qualifyingexaminationshavebeendelayedmayalsoapplyforthistest.However,suchcandidateswillbeadmittedprovisionallyandshallbeconsideredeligiblefor
AssistantprofessoronlyaftertheyhavepassedtheirMastersDegreeexaminationORequivalentwithatleast55%marks(50%marksincaseofOBC(Noncreamy
layer)/SC/ST/PWD(personswithdisability)categorycandidates.SuchcandidatesmustcompletetheirP.GdegreeexaminationwithinoneyearfromthedateofSET
resultwithrequiredpercentageofmarks,failingwhichtheyshallbetreatedasdisqualified.
The Ph.D. degree holders whose Masters level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991(irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be
eligibleforarelaxationof5%inaggregatemarks(i.e.from55%to50%)forappearinginSET.
Candidatesareadvisedtoappearinthesubjectoftheirpostgraduationonly.Thecandidates,whosepostgraduationsubjectisnotcoveredinthelistofsubjectsmay
appearinarelatedsubject.
Candidatesareneitherrequiredtosendanycertificates/documentsinsupportoftheireligibilitynorprintoutoftheirApplicationForm(ConfirmationPage)to
APSEToffice.Howeverthecandidates,intheirowninterest,mustsatisfythemselvesabouttheireligibilityfortheTest.Intheeventofanyineligibilitybeingdetectedat
anystage,theircandidaturewillbecancelledandtheyshallbeliableforlegalaction.
Candidates having postgraduate diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/ Institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by the foreign
University/instituteshouldintheirowninterest,ascertaintheequivalenceoftheirdiploma/degree/certificatewithMastersdegreeofrecognizedIndianuniversities
fromAssociationofIndianUniversities(AIU),NewDelhi.
ThereisnoupperagelimitforapplyingforeligibilityforAssistantProfessor
ThequalifiedcandidatesareeligibletoapplyforthepostofAssistantProfessoronlyintheuniversities/collegessituatedinthestatefromwheretheyhavecleared
theirSET.
