Bauhaus
Bauhaus (Bauhaus, 1919/4 / 1-1933 / 7), the German city of Weimar
"public Bauhaus" (Staatliches Bauhaus) short, later renamed "School
of Design" (Hochschule fr Gestaltung), habits along the still called
"Bauhaus." School of Design after the reunification of Germany in
Weimar's Bauhaus University Weimar renamed (Bauhaus-Universitt
Weimar). Its establishment marked the birth of modern design
education, the development of the world of modern design had a
profound impact, Bauhaus is the world's first institute for the
development of modern design education completely established.
"Bauhaus" is used Walter Gropius (Gropius) created, is the
transliteration of the German Bauhaus, the German Hausbau
(housing construction) from the word upside down.

Joost Schmidt
Joost Schmidt (Wunstorf, 5

December 1948) was a teacher
or master at the Bauhaus and
later a professor at the College
of Visual Arts, Berlin. He was a
visionary typographer and
graphic designer who is best
known for designing the famous
poster for the 1923 Bauhaus
Exhibition in Weimar, Germany.

Max Bill
Max Bill (22 December 1908 9
December 1994) was a Swiss
architect, artist, painter, typeface
designer, industrial designer and
grapBill was born in Winterthur.
After an apprenticeship as a
silversmith during 1924-1927, Bill
took up studies at the Bauhaus in
Dessau under many teachers
including Wassily Kandinsky, Paul
Klee and Oskar Schlemmer from
1927 to 1929, after which he
moved to Zurich.hic designer.

Works
The Endlose Treppe (meaning
"Endless Steps" in German) is a
sculpture made by the Swiss artist
Max Bill in 1991 for the
philosopher Ernst Bloch. It is made
of North American granite.

It stands near the Wilhelm-HackMuseum in the city-center of


Ludwigshafen am Rhein. According
to the artist, the 19 winding steps
of granite, which stand nearly 10
meters, are supposed to represent
Ernst Bloch's "principle of hope".
