ABOUT THE HUB


Anand Vihar transit Hub is located in Anand Vihar locality of East Delhi,
where the three modes of transportation modes (Railways, Metro and Bus
Terminus) meet within a distance of 50 m.
The interchange facility at Anand Vihar Transit Hub enables the passengers getting
off from trains to take the Metro to almost any part of the city. Besides, the bus
terminal at Anand Vihar that connects Delhi with many neighboring states including
Uttar Pradesh & Uttrakhand, has a huge benefit from the interchange station.

ISBT Operates bus services between Delhi,
Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
There are Four Platforms :
Platform A : It has 36 bus bays for Local Buses.
Platform B : It has 36 bus bays for Interstate
& Local Buses.
Platform C & D : Both has 46 bus bays for
U.P. and Uttarakhand.

The required facilities for a ISBT, are totally
absent except the Platforms.
Thus due course of time the needs have
accumulated on platforms .
Passengers have to walk on the road to
access the platforms

LOCATION: Anand Vihar locality of East Delhi.


The station was officially inaugurated on December 19, 2009, on completion of
the first phase of its constrution.
Phase I of the two-storey railway station was started with just three platforms, a coach maintenance yard and
feeder lines to the Sahibabad Junction, Phase I took over 5 years to complete.
It is one of the modern and stations in Delhi, Spread over 42 hectares of area, this terminal is expected to be
one of
the largest railway stations catering to all Eastbound trains from Delhi & three lakh passengers who will
travel on
272 trains daily from this terminal after the second phase of the station becomes operational.
The total cost of the project is estimated as Rs 230 crore.

ABOUT METRO STATION


Anand Vihar is an elevated metro station located on the branch line of
the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro.
The station is located in the Anand Vihar locality of East Delhi and is
connected to the Anand Vihar ISBT and Anand Vihar Railway Terminal.
The Anand Vihar ISBT Metro station is connected to Line 4 (Yamuna Bank Vaishali) corridor of the Metro network. In 2016, the station will have
connectivity to areas in north Delhi such as Azadpur and Mukundpur, West
Delhi localities of Punjabi Bagh and Rajouri Garden, south Delhi
destinations of South Extension, Lajpat Nagar and Ashram and east Delhi
areas such as Mayur Vihar and Trilokpuri.

DESIGN PRINCIPLES
Main Concept of Planning the Anand Metro station is to cater the
Passenger coming for the Railway terminal and the ISBT, Anand Vihar .
The metro 2 entrances, Gate No. 1 on Railway station side , and
Gate no. 2 on ISBT side .
Anand Metro station has five levels: Basement, Ground Floor, First Floor, Concourse and Platform and
they are connected through 3 lifts (1 from Basement to Concourse and 2 from Concourse to Platform)
and 4 escalators 4 (2 from Ground to Concourse and 2 from Concourse to Platform.)
