Business Card
Description: A logo and business card for a mock company.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
Date: 6/11/2016.
Course & Section: Visual Media, Section 7.
Instructor: Lindsey LeFevre.
Objectives: Learn basic skills in Illustrator and InDesign, create a simple
unique logo and implement onto a business card.

Process: I started by coming up with a business name that I would be able

to use as inspiration for a design. I landed on my own last name. Going

from there I found an image of a T-Rex and in Adobe Illustrator traced it

using the curvature tool. Then using complimentary fonts, I created the
logo, capitalizing the R in Rex helped me emphasize my last name which I
wanted to be a focal point. Finally, I finished by simplifying my design and
cutting a few original elements.

Letterhead
Description: Stationery showing logo for a mock company.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
Date: 6/11/2016.
Course & Section: Visual Media, Section 7.
Instructor: Lindsey LeFevre.
Objectives: Learn basic skills in Illustrator and InDesign, create a
simple unique logo and implement onto a letterhead.
Process: Here I had a basis to start with, my logo. From there I stuck
with branding to show consistency from my business card to my
letterhead. Then I tried playing with asymmetry to show my contact
info. That became muddled and would not leave space for the letter.
I settled on centering it. Next I used lines to frame where the letter
would sit.

Web Design
Description: A simple website to showcase a logo design.
Programs: TextWrangler.
Date: 6/25/2016.
Course & Section: Visual Media, Section 7.
Instructor: Lindsey LeFevre.
Objectives: Learn to write basic HTML and CSS.
Process: I also started with my logo. And then began to sketch
ideas. I also kept thinking about what I enjoy about websites and
what I dislike. Immediately I thought about doing a repeating element
in the back. Since I had previously used the outline of the T-Rex I
knew I would want to incorporate it again. I also used contrast to
show my title clearly.

Brochure
Description: An offset brochure advertising for and providing
information about Entertainer Puddles Pity Party.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.
Date: 7/02/2016.
Course & Section: Visual Media, Section 7.
Instructor: Lindsey LeFevre.
Objectives: Create a new logo, learn how to properly align folds, how
to text wrap in InDesign and cutout images in Photoshop.
Process: I began by using the pen tool to create lines and letters
that would become the suitcase logo. Next I wrote 25o words of
original content focusing on the accomplishments of Puddles. I used
flow especially in this design as well as one image is pointing to the
suitcase and then when you open it, he is pointing at another image
that is looking down bringing you further into the design.

Montage
Description: Montage of two images with a scripture providing a
message of hope.
Programs: Adobe Photoshop.
Date: 7/16/2016.
Course & Section: Visual Media, Section 7.
Instructor: Lindsey LeFevre.
Objectives: Learn how to portray a unified layout and a clear
message. Learn how to mask layers in Photoshop.
Process: First off I thought of an exact message I wanted to portray
and I thought of my audience. From there it was an easy transition to
cropping and lassoing the image of Peter and Christ. Next using the
brush tool to paint black on the mask of the layer of the top image.
Then I finished the design with the text, putting an emphasis on the
message by italicizing and bolding certain words.

Event Ad
Description: An ad for a tree sale to beautify the City of Rexburg.
Programs: Microsoft Word Processor.
Date: 5/14/2016.
Course & Section: Visual Media, Section 7.
Instructor: Lindsey LeFevre.
Objectives: Learn to scan images and design in alternative ways
when digital images and Adobe programs are not available.
Process: To start off I search for an inspirational image and
brainstormed events that could go along with the image. Next I
designed words to advertise the event. Keeping it simple helped me
showcase the beautiful image and hone in on the message. I also
used complementary fonts and size to put emphasis on the most
important content.

Photodesign
Description: A photo I have captured with an inspirational quote.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
Date: 5/21/2016.
Course & Section: Visual Media, Section 7.
Instructor: Lindsey LeFevre.
Objectives: Learn what complete color schemes are and how to use
them. Learn different ways to take effective photos.
Process: This project started with taking images first. I snapped
some photos using good lighting during the last two hours of
daylight. Grouping helped me keep my message separate from my
color scheme. Remembering that we as people enjoy odd numbers
more than even I put five separate boxes. I kept to a complementary
color scheme that coordinated with the flowers.

Logo
Description: Logo for a stay-at-home freelance designer.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator.
Date: 6/04/2016.
Course & Section: Visual Media, Section 7.
Instructor: Lindsey LeFevre.
Objectives: Learn how to draw vector logos in Illustrator and learn
the variations of logos. Learn the value of market research.
Process: Starting with my concept I researched what other designers
have done for logos. Then I found a couch vector and traced it using
the curve tool in Illustrator. I asked others for their opinions and
based on that refined the log for a clearer message.

Flier
Description: Flier advertising for a business skills leadership.
Programs: Adobe InDesign.
Date: 5/07/2016.
Course & Section: Visual Media, Section 7.
Instructor: Lindsey LeFevre.
Objectives: Learn simple skills in InDesign to create effective
desings. Use correct typography.
Process: Since I was given all the words, images, and logos I was
allowed to use I started with sketching to see how I could show
these elements creatively. Next I learned a few skills in InDesign so I
could begin the design process. I played with grouping so that each
element was with other relevent information.
