John J.

Vasselli
John is the Director of the Houston Engineering Center, Senior Lecturer
and holds the Ralph and Mary John Spence Professorship from the
University of Texas at Tyler. He possesses over forty years of
professional engineering experience in government, industry and the
non-profit sectors. Prior to joining the University of Texas, John was
Corporate Chief of Technology for Indoor Air Quality and one of only
seven Carrier Technology Fellows worldwide.
He is the past President and CEO of the Houston Advanced Research
Center in The Woodlands, Texas. While at HARC, John served on the
Board of the Greater Houston Partnership, as well as on the Executive
Committee of the Houston Technology Center. Early in his carrier, John
was a successful entrepreneur, starting a one man company that grew
to 800 people in ten years.

President and Chief Executive Officer, Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC).
Director of Corporate Development, Syracuse Research Corporation.
Corporate Vice President, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).
Senior Research Engineer, Air Force Research Laboratory.
Captain, United States Air Force.
Mr. Vasselli holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, a Masters of
Science Degree in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering, as well as a MS degree in
Systems Research Management. He has presented papers and talks around the
world including interviews on television and radio (NPR). John is a U.S. Green Building
Council LEED Accredited Professional.
John and his wife Susan have eight children, eight grandchildren, and a great grand
daughter. They live on Red Oak Ranch in Magnolia, Texas.
