    Description
    :CWHWCisseekinganewGeneralPractitionerorNursePractitionerforourtwicemonthlyclinics.Clinics
    currentlyrunonthe2ndSundayand4thMondayofeachmonthfrom69pmand48pmrespectively.Wearelookingfor
    clinicianswhocanprovidesurgicalassessmentandplanning,postoperativecare,hormoneassessment,prescribing,and
    followup.Cliniciansshouldalsohaveexperiencedealingwithabroadrangeofprimarycarepresentationsandbe
    knowledgeableinhealthconcernsanddisparitiesaffectingourcommunities.Clinicianswillattimesberequiredtoactas
    advocatesforpatientsnavigatingthehealthsystem,aswellasliaisingwithandprovidingeducationtocliniciansoutsideof
    ourclinic.
    TheCWHWCisstronglycommittedtoequityandbuildingadiverseteam.Weacknowledgethatourclinicmustdobetterat
    recognizingtheknowledgeandexperienceofourcommunitymemberswhoareBlack,Indigenous,orpeopleorcolour
    (BIPOC).InconsultationwithourcurrentBIPOCvolunteers,weareatthistimeprioritizingapplicantswhoidentifyasBlack,
    Indigenousorapersonofcolor(BIPOC).Wewillalsoprioritizeapplicationsfrompeoplewhoidentifyastranswomenoras
    beingonthetransfemininespectrum,regardlessofethnicorracialidentity.Ifyouhavequestionsaboutthispolicy,please

    RolesandResponsibilities:

    Providehormoneinitiationandfollowup
    ProvideSurgicalCarePlanningvisitsaswellaspreandpostoperativecare
    Providementalhealthandlimitedprimarycareasappropriatefortwicemonthlyclinics
    Attendquarterlyclinicianteammeetings
    Collaborateinaninterdisciplinaryclinicalsettingwithalliedproviders
    Providesupportattheprimarycareconsultativelevelforcertainclientsunderthecareofcliniciansoutsideof
    CWHWC
    Actasaresourceinnavigatingthehealthsystemfortransandgenderdiversepeople
    Participateinarotatingschedule(every23months)oflabreviewandclinicscheduling

    RequiredExperienceandCompetencies:

    Livedexperienceand/orworkingknowledgeofthehealthneedsoftransgendercommunities
    Astrongcommitmenttopromotingthehealthoftranscommunitiesandupholdingourstatementofcollectiveethics
    Knowledgeofpertinentclinicalissuesrelatedtotranshealth,inparticular,hormonereplacement,surgical
    preparationandpostopcare,sexualhealth,andmentalhealth.
    ActiveregistrationwiththeBCCollegeofPhysiciansandSurgeonsor,atthenursepractitionerlevel,withCRNBC.
    InsurancecoveragethroughCMPAorCRNBC.
