Our client, a leader in providing Private Networks and Cloud Computing Infrastructure is
looking for a Senior Network Engineering Consultant (Security), to provide expertise in
Networking Security as well as taking part in day-to-day networking duties.
The Senior Network Engineer Consultant (Security) will design, deploy and maintain the
companies core network as well as a variety of client networks. Installation, Monitoring,
Maintenance, Support, and Optimization of network hardware, software, and communication
links will be the core of your duties. Resolving network routing, hardware and software
issues are also key aspects of your job.
Over and above this , you are a true Consultant; able to deal effectively with client's, providing
both Network and Network Security expertise and taking the lead on projects whilst handling
the day-to-day aspects of all things networking!!
In this capacity the Sr. Network Engineering Consultant (Security) will:

Deal and meet with a variety of clients on site at their offices providing designs,
recommendations and technical support,

Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things Network and Network Security
related both to external clients and within the company's stakeholders, sales and presales teams,

Participate in managing all network security solutions,

Lead network security improvements by reviewing existing policies and architecture,

Participate in sales engineering meetings, gather technical requirements and


propose the 'right solution' to the client,

Prepare, validate and review sales engineering designs as required,

Maintain, design, configure and deploy the companies WAN's including servers,
routers, hubs, switches and other hardware,

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems acting as the main


escalation point for technical/operational issues.

Recommend, Create and Maintain Networking Documentation, including but not


limited to: Configurations, Mapping, Processes, Service Records, Policies&Procedures,
Training, Disaster Recovery, Performance Reports/Statistics and Best Practices,

Lead the NOC team during high-severity network incidents,

Practice network asset management (i.e maintenance of network component inventory,


documentation etc.),

Lead new departmental initiatives, such as client implementations or


hardware/software upgrades,

Participate in Network Monitoring pager rotation, 724 on-call for scheduled periods,

Mentor, train and provide guidance to junior members of the team.

Other duties as required from time to time.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role as a Sr. Network Engineering Consultant (Security) your work history
should reflect the following requirements:

Minimum of 5 years hands on work experience in a senior capacity coupled with a


University Degree/Diploma or related experience in Computer Science/Engineering, is a
must!!

This is further enhanced with CISCO Certifications: CCNP, CCNP Security (ideal)
and/or CCIE are required.

Previous experience in the capacity of a Consultant, with the ability to meet client's,
deal with sales teams, provide solutions, present recommendations and lead client
engagements;

Specific Technical Skills Required with most or all of the following: Extensive Firewall
experience with Juniper/Palo Alto/Cisco PIX/ASA, Intrusion Protection Systems,

WAN, WLAN, and WWAN, Linux OS, Routing on Linux Platforms, VRRP, BGP,
OSPF, VRF, All aspects of VLAN Services, Troubleshooting Carrier Aggregation
Services (i.e.NNI, Internet Transit), Voice and Data Circuit testing tools and
procedures are all needed.

Exceptional communication skills is an absolute MUST!

Exceptional verbal, written skills (to the level of being able to provide solid
documentation), presentation skills (to the level of leading meetings, presenting to clients
etc.) and interpersonal skills also a must!!

Previous experience in a Consulting, Managed Services, Private Networking or Cloud


related industry sector would be a real plus!

Ability to be on call on rotating shifts, as required.

We are currently looking for Security & IP Network Designer to join our Toronto Location
A Day in the Life
Provides network engineering support for Wind Mobile IP Core Routing & Switching
Infrastructure.
Provides network engineering expertise and oversight for the design and integration of routers
and switches and security elements such as firewalls, IPS/IDS throughout their lifecycle.
Perform network audits for security recommendations.
Assist with design and implement network access authentication solutions such as
RADIUS/LDAP and IPSec and SSL VPNs.
Support Network Operation teams for implementation of security policies and core routing &
switching changes.
Experience
5+ years' experience operating as network engineer, preferably focused on security, for a large
production operation, an ISP or a similar environment
Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills
Excellent strategic and problem solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Expertise with security methodologies, standards, and best practices (ITIL, ISO 17799/BS7799,
and other security-related practices are an asset)
Expertise within a broad range of security sub-disciplines including the ten (ISC) 2 Common
Body of Knowledge Domains
Strong experience with Juniper SRX firewalls, Cisco ASA firewalls and intrusion detection
systems
Expert Understanding of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS L3VPN, datacenter security best
practices

Experience with Cisco ASR XR routers and Cisco Nexus and Juniper EX switches
Strong understanding of sniffers and experience on Wireshark and how to read packet traces
Required professional designation/certificate:
Security certifications such as: CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Security, JNCIS, CISSP preferred
Networking certifications such as: CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Routing&Switching or Service
Provider, JNCIA
Knowledge on 3G and EPC/LTE cellular technologies (including Alcatel Lucent and Nokia) is
