1. The Story
_______________________________________________________________________
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1.1] Starting Out

----------------------------------------------------------------------When you go to New Game, you see a blue sky. Then you see the words a
guy called Takakura is speaking. He's talking about a farm. You try to
ask what you're doing here, but Takakura says it's a surprise. Later
on, Takakura asks you how you would feel farming on this land. You
react with a !. Takakura says that he had a feeling that you would
react that way. He says that your he and your father had a dream of
farming. So they bought this piece of land to farm. Unfortunately for
your father, he didn't stick around long enough. Yup, he died. So
Takakura wants you to farm to fulfill your father's dreams and work
with him. So he asks you to give it a try. Say yes. I don't know what
happens if you say no. I didn't try it yet, and I don't really want to
know. ...well, maybe a little bit. Anyways, so if you said yes, he says
something like good boy! (hello! I'm an adult here! I can get married
this year!) So Takakura basically just shows you around. Next thing you
know, two dogs come running your way. Takakura says that he's not
really fond of dogs, so you can only keep one. Floppy-eared or pointyeared? I chose the traditional floppy-eared because it's too cute. It
doesn't matter which one you pick. Then Takakura shows you around some
more. Then you find out that you have a cow. When I first found that
out, I was like *mouth drops open*. sweet. I don't have to waste 6000G
on my first cow! yay! After he shows you around the farm, Takakura asks
you if you want him to introduce you to the townspeople. Say yes if
you're first playing this game. So he shows you to most of the people
in the village. He tells you to take a break now since it's been really
exhausting. But then.... you meet.... the Harvest Sprites! Nik, Nak,
and Flak! You talk to them for a little while, then you go to sleep.
When you wake up, you find yourself on the first day of farming...
The adventure has just begun.... (wow, clich?, eh? lol.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------1.2] The Plot
----------------------------------------------------------------------I'm still not really sure what the plot is....but whatever. I'm pretty
sure that you have to woo the heart of an eligible bachlorette so that
she'll fall in love with you and you can marry her. There are 4
eligible bachlorettes in this game. They are Celia, Nami, Muffy, and
Lumina. Anyways, the main point of this game is to get married, raise a
child, raise animals, grow crops and trees, harvest everything in your
way, make friends with everyone, get stuff from the people in the
valley by being friends with them, become rich from all your income,
then live a happy life. Confusing, eh? Let's just try to be really
friendly to the girl you can marry and really like, get a lot of money,
and raise a child, and be friends with everybody. How's that?
_______________________________________________________________________

3. Animals
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------3.1] Dog
----------------------------------------------------------------------In this game, you have two choices of which dog you want. The first
option is the traditional harvest moon floppy-eared dog. The second
option is the new pointed-eared dog. It doesn't matter which one you
choose. The only difference is their appearances. You will get a dog
the moment you start playing the game.
Treatment:
Your dog doesn't really require any special treatment. But if you want
to raise it's affection, feed it food in its food dish. The food dish
is the blue object next to the dog house. Just hold the food and press
the X button in front of the dish to put it in. Hugging your dog
(holding it and putting it back down) might also raise its affection.
Once it has 10 hearts (you can check your assets in your diary), you
can stop feeding it because it does not require any food at all. It
won't become sick or feel neglected. Mainly because it has no real
purpose of the game

Training:
In this game, training your dog doesn't really do anything, but if you
still want to train it, go to your dog, and the word 'train' should be
flashing on the triangle button on your button guide. So press the
triangle button. This will set up the training 'mode'. Time stops so
you can train as long as you like. There are 4 ways to train your dog.
Just press the triangle, square, or X button and hold it down. The
4th way is to rotate your left analog stick.
----------------------------------------------------------------------3.2] Cows
----------------------------------------------------------------------In this game, you will start with a cow. Takakura will have one all
ready in the barn. It will be a Normal cow. Meaning, it's a female that
produces Normal Milk.
Types of Cows:
Now, there are 4 different types of cows in this game: Normal, Brown,
Marble, and Star. Each type has 2 genders, male and female. The male is
referred to as the bull and the female referred to as the cow. You can
only get milk from cows. Bulls are just in the game to provide free
'miracle potions'.
Prices of Cows/Bulls:
Normal Bull - 3000 G
Normal Cow - 4000 G
Brown Bull - 4000 G
Brown Cow - 5000 G
Marble Bull - 4000 G
Marble Cow - 5000 G

Milking:
As you already know, you can only get milk from cows (females). To milk
a cow, you can either use your hands to milk or use the milker. You
will get the same amount of milk no matter which way you do it. Handmilking is faster, but using the milker uses less energy. I personally
just hand-milk my cows because it is faster and I don't like waiting
just to save up my stamina.
Cows will give less milk and a lower grade in summer. Winter is the
best time of the year to get milk from cows.
Milk Prices:
Normal Milk B
Normal Milk A
Normal Milk S
Mother's Milk

75G
115G --> 138G
150G --> 180G
75G

Miracle Potions:
Cows will only give milk for a 40-day period. After that, they will
run 'dry'. So impregnate your cow with a miracle potion from either a
bull from the city or your own bull after about 25 or 30 days. The cow
will not give birth until 1-2 seasons later.
Once the cow gives birth to a calf, the cow will give mother's milk for
4 days. Give the milk to the calf by showing it the milk. After the 4
days, your cow will give its regular milk.
Herding:
There are 2 ways of bringing your cows outside to the pasture, and back
into the pasture.
THE TRADITIONAL WAY:
You can push your cows (and other livestock) by hand. You can do this
by pushing towards the direction you want them to go and through the
barn doors.
THE NEW TECHNOLOGICAL WAY:
There are two red buttons on your barn. One is in your barn next to the
door that leads to the front of the barn that faces the storage house,
and the other one is on the outside of your barn, next to the door that
leads to the pasture. The button inside brings your cows (and other
livestock back into the barn. The button outside takes your cows (and
other livestock outside). This is the more efficient way.
Fodder (its food):
Fodder can be obtained by fertilizing your field and cutting down the
matured grass. The cut grass will be transported to the silo in your
barn. The silo is the hole with a silver framing around it. The silo is
on the left wall of the barn. To get the fodder, simply stand in front
of the silo and press the X button when "Get it Out" flashes in your
button guide. To check the amount of fodder you have, look at the
framed sheet next to the silo. When "Check" flashes in your button
guide, press the X button. Grass cut from the pasture becomes regular
fodder. Another type of fodder is good fodder. To get good fodder, buy
it from your ledger (in your storage house) for 250G each. Good fodder
is used to raise your cow's milk to 'S' rank. However, your cow can
give you 'S' ranked milk without good fodder depending on the season.
To feed your cow (and other livestock), hold out the fodder and place
it in their feed box by standing in front of it and pressing the X
button when "put in" flashes in your button guide.
Treatment:
Cows will need fodder twice a day, once in the morning and once in the
evening. Their affection for you will increase if you brush, talk, and

10

snuggle them. Talking can be done by standing in front or behind them

and press the X button when "talk" flashes in your button guide.
Snuggling can be done by pressing the triangle button when you are
standing in front of your cows and when a heart flashes in your button
guide. You can leave your cows outside on sunny days and if you have
fertilized the pasture. Be sure to bring them back in if it's raining
or snowing. Also, don't forget to wash your cows when they're dirty!
Their health bar can go down if you don't wash them. Wash them around
every 5 days. (To wash them, push them towards the cart of water
near the outside exit of the barn. Take out your brush, and you should
see the word "Wash" flash on the TRIANGLE button of your button guide.
Press the TRIANGLE button, and you should be able to wash your cow.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------3.3] Chickens
----------------------------------------------------------------------You will have to buy your first chicken. There are 2 types of chickens:
hens (females) and roosters (males).
Price:
Hen: 900 G
Rooster: 900 G
Eggs:
There are 3 kinds of eggs. An egg (regular), fertilized egg, and a
golden egg. If you have 1 hen, you can have regular eggs. Once you've
raised that hen quite well, it may lay golden eggs from time to time.
Fertilized eggs are the only eggs that chicks can hatch from. To get
fertilized eggs, you need both a rooster and a hen. A rooster to
fertilize the eggs, and a hen to lay the egg. Golden eggs are very
good, as they are worth 300G and can be haggled up 360G each!
Egg: Prices
Egg - 40G
Fertilized Egg - 50G
Golden Egg - 300G --> 360G
Feeding:
If you want to do it the pricy way, then buy Bird Feed for 150G each in
your ledger. It might seem pricy, but the Bird Feed can last for quite
a long time. Especially if you only have one chicken. In that case,
it'll last for 8 days or so. If you want to save money, then just let
your chickens outside. Just hand-pick them up, go outside, and place
them down. Some people place their chickens all the way into the
pasture, but I just leave mine outside the chicken coop. Buying the
chicken fence will be a good idea to save time and future money.
Treatment:
Chickens will need food once their bird feed is all gone. If they're
outside, you have nothing to worry about. Hug the chicken once a day by
picking them up and putting them back down. Don't show a chicken to
another one. It'll make the other one jealous. You can talk to them by
picking them up and pressing the X button. It doesn't really do
anything though. You can also snuggle them by holding them and pressing
the TRIANGLE button. This will raise their affection for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------3.4] Sheep
----------------------------------------------------------------------You will have to buy your first sheep from the ledger if you want one.

11

Wool:
You will be able to obtain wool from your sheep once a season. That
means every 10 days. It is possible to get golden wool in your second
season if you brush, snuggle, and talk to your sheep everyday.
Wool Prices:
Wool - 75G
Gold Wool - 600G --> 720G
----------------------------------------------------------------------3.5] Horse
----------------------------------------------------------------------You can get a horse as early as Summer 1. To get it, you have to ship
something (sell something in your ledger). The next day, Takakura will
interrupt whatever you're doing to give you the horse. It'll be at
about 12-1PM-ish. There are 3 different colours: white, a very dark
brown, and an orangish coloured horse. If you want a particular
coloured horse, save right before you get the horse. If you get a horse
you don't like, then load and play again until you get the colour you
want.
Unless you want full hearts for your horse, you don't have to feed it
at all. It won't get sick, as it doesn't have a health meter.
Your horse will stop gaining hearts if you make it made once or twice.
To get its hearts going up again, give it apples or good fooder to eat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------3.6] Goat
----------------------------------------------------------------------Buy the goat from Van on the 3rd or 8th day of Spring, any chapter. At
first, the goat will be 4000G. DON'T BUY IT AT THAT PRICE! Say no to
Van's offer. Keep declining until the 3rd time, when the price is
around 1200G. Accept the offer. He won't go any lower than that. Once
you have bought the goat, you will also receive the goat milker.
Feeding:
The goat just needs to be taken outside or needs to be fed fodder once
the fodder in its feed box is gone. The fodder may take about 1 day to
be eaten.
Milking:
You will only be able to milk the goat once a day. Once its milking
period is done (40 days), it will stop giving milk and it will be sort
of useless. If you want to keep it, by all means, keep it. If you don't
want it anymore, then sell it through the ledger.
Milk Price:
Goat Milk - 115G --> 138G
Treatment:
Just remember to feed the goat when its feed box is empty, brush it,
talk to it, milk it, and snuggle it. Washing it might also help.
----------------------------------------------------------------------3.7] Ducks
----------------------------------------------------------------------To get the ducks, you must have the pond. Then, in summer, wake up
after your wife. She will tell you there are ducks in the pond. Then
you will go outside automatically and see that there are two ducks in
the pond. One is a boy, the other is a girl. Your wife will ask you if

12

you can keep them. Say yes. Then you will name them. They will live in
the chicken coop.
Ducklings:
To get ducklings, you must have the one male duck, one female duck, one
rooster, and one hen. Your ducks don't lay eggs, so When your hen lays
a fertilized egg, you have a 50/50 chance of getting a duckling when
you put it in the incubater.
----------------------------------------------------------------------3.8] Cat
----------------------------------------------------------------------In chapter 2, you can get a cat. Just wake up after your wife during
the fall, and Romana should come by your farm to give you a cat. So far
I only know of a black cat, although, there are rumours of a white cat.
Treatment:
Your cat doesn't really require any special treatment. But if you want
to raise it's affection, feed it food in its food dish. The food dish
is the blue object next to the dog house. Just hold the food and press
the X button in front of the dish to put it in. You basically treat the
cat how you treat your dog, unless you're biased towards one of them
and give one extra special treatment while the other one hardly gets
any. The only difference in privileges between your cat and dog is that
you can't train your cat.

4. Crops
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------4.1] First Generation Crops
----------------------------------------------------------------------You can get first generation crops by planting the seeds you can buy
from Vesta. (Seed prices are what they cost you. When you sell them
they are worth half as much because Vesta's seeds are more famous than
yours. Here, I have put down the seed prices. Just double the cost and
you'll have how much it would cost from Vesta. This only applies to the
first generation crop seeds. The crop prices are the prices of B-ranked
crops.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------4.2] Second Generation Crops
----------------------------------------------------------------------To get second generation crops, you'll need Tartan. Tartan is a twoheaded plant that makes hybrids, or cross-breeds crops or seeds. To get
Tartan, you'll need to ship something. The next day, go to Takakura's
house. I went at around 9 PM and I got the cut-scene. Takakura sleeps
at 9:30 PM. Second generation crops are pretty much just cross-breeding
two first generation crops/seeds.
(These prices are for B-rank crops/seeds. To get A-rank, add 10G)

6. Gifts
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------6.1] Gifts from the Villagers
----------------------------------------------------------------------Carter - Record: Summer Memories
Befriend Carter and talk to him on the 3rd or 8th day of the month when
he is at the beach. This record is basically the background music of
STH's summer music. I got this record around 4 PM.
Chris - Record: The Bride
Befriend Chris and talk to her whether she is walking back home or at
home. This is basically the wedding march song.
Cody - Artwork
Befriend Cody and talk to him in at least chapter 3. The artwork will
boost your child's art interests if you show it to him.

21

Cody - Strange Sickle

Befriend Cody and enter his trailer when he is in there.
Daryl - Free Seed Maker
Befriend Daryl and go into his house when he is there. To get the free
seed maker, the seed maker can't be in your ledger. To avoid having the
seed maker in your ledger, don't talk to Takakura until you get the
free seed maker from Daryl. If Takakura talks about the seed maker,
it's probably in your ledger and you can't get the free seed maker from
Daryl.
Dr. Hardy - Weird Sickle
Befriend Dr. Hardy and once you have the strange sickle, go into his
house when he is there.
Flora - Necklace
Befriend Flora and talk to her in the tent in at least chapter 3. The
necklace will boost your child's scholar interests if you show it to
your child.
Galen - Fishing Pole
Befriend Galen and talk to him in at least chapter 2. The fishing pole
uses less energy than the fishing rod from Van.
Grant - Alarm Clock
Without even having to befriend him, go to his house when he is there.
5:00 AM is when I always go to get it, but you can get it late at night
as well.
Griffin - Record: Marine Jazz
Befriend Griffin with his favourite gifts. Once you're good friends, go
to his room in the Blue Bar when he's there alone. Talk to him and
he'll give you his record. I got the record at 3:00 PM.
Gustafa - Tumtum
Befriend Gustafa and go into his yurt (aka: his house) when he is in
there. Talk to him, and he should give you his tumtum. The tumtum will
boost your child's music interests if you show it to him/her.
Hugh - Record: HM:AWLSE
still need info about this....
Kate - Record: Winter HM
Befriend Kate with gifts of flowers (and perhaps melons). Once you are
good friends with her, go into her room during the morning when she is
awake. Talk to her and she will give you the record. This record is the
same music as the winter background music in BTN and FOMT. I was able
to get this record at around 6:00 AM
Kassey or Patrick - Record: 64 Memories
Beat Kassey or Patrick at least 10 times (if you win 5 with Kassey and
5 with Patrick, you'll still get the record).
Marlin - Record: Butterfly
Befriend Marlin and meet him at around midday on Van days when he goes
to the waterfall. Simply talk to him and you should receive the record.
Mukumuku - Record: Joy of Fall
Befriend Mukumuku and talk to him. When he says something with music
notes, that's the phrase he says when he gives you a record. As a

22

bonus, once you get the record, you can get a daily record (during the
winter) from Mukumuku if you talk to him. Each extra record can be
haggled for over 400G!
Nik, Nac, and Flak - Blue Feather
This will happen sometime during summer. The 3 Harvest Sprites will
come and give you a blue feather sometime around noon, no matter where
you are and what you're doing.
Patrick - Fireworks
Befriend Patrick and talk to him in their tower/house. The fireworks
will increase your child's likes in art if you show it to him/her
Rock - Record: Flowerbud Fall
I was able to get the record from Rock at around noon inn his bedroom
(which is in the Inn, 2nd floor, right door). After you have given a
lot of presents to Rock and he is finally your friend, just talk to him
and you should receive the record.
Tips: If you give Rock enough gifts, he will start saying that he's
been thinking about writing a book that collects all his fashion ideas.
I've received this question at around 12 PM to 12:30 PM in his room. He
will ask you what you think about his idea. Your choices are: Maybe so
OR Maybe not. Answer "Maybe so", and this should help speed up the rate
of obtaining the record. This may take a while. It has taken
fireinthewronghole about two seasons of answering his question to get
this record. Suitable gifts include toy flowers, and human-shaped
artifacts from the excavation site. However, Rock's favourite includes
good cheese.
Romana - Cat
Wake up after your wife during fall. Romana should bring a cat with her
and give it to you.
Romana - Music Sheet
Befriend Romana and talk to her. I got it when she was in her room, but
it is possible to get it from her in the main lobby of her house.
Showing the music sheet to your child will boost their interests in
music.
Romana - Watering Can W
Befriend Romana and go into her room when she is alone. I got the CS at
around 1 PM.
Sebastian - Town Spirit
Befriend Sebastian and go into his room and talk to him. Sebastian's
room is on the first floor (ground floor) of the villa, on the right
side of the lobby, far behind the piano.
Tim - Strange Hoe
Befriend Tim and once you have the great field, go into Tim's room on
the first floor (ground floor) which is on the left side of the lobby,
at the far back. Go in there when he is in there, and the CS should be
triggered. It is all right if Ruby is in there as well. I got this CS
at around 7 AM.
Vesta - Weird Hoe
Befriend Vesta and once you have the strange hoe, go into Vesta's
storage house when she's the only one in there. The CS should be
triggered and you should get the weird hoe. I got the CS at around
10:50 AM.

23

Wally - Clippers
Befriend Wally and go into his house when he is in there.
Wally - Medal
Befriend Wally and in at least chapter 3, talk to Wally and he will
give you the medal. The medal will boost your child's interests in
athletism if you show it to him/her.
----------------------------------------------------------------------6.2] Gifts to the Villagers

7.1] Girl Cut-Scenes
_______________________________________________________________________
This is a section where I will tell you what the girls' (Celia, Nami,
Muffy, and Lumina) character scenes are and how to activate them. If
you really don't want to bother too much with the character scenes for
some odd reason, then you can just befriend the girl you like best for
a while. At the end of chapter 1, the girl who likes you best will come
and pretty much propose to you.
WARNING: If you activate the last cut-scene for a girl, and propose to
another girl, you may get a betrayal scene where the girl you didn't
propose to, will be very upset. To avoid the betrayal scene, propose to
the girl you want to marry on winter 10. Then, avoid your house
completely. Once it's midnight, it'll be the start of chapter 2, and
you'll marry the girl you proposed to, without seeing the betrayal
scene.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Celia CS
----------------------------------------------------------------------Give Celia lots of flowers. One flower a day should be good enough.
Celia's diary is in the attic of Vesta's house (where they usually sell
the seeds and such) under Celia's bed. Check to see how many hearts she
has for you. Each girl will start with a green heart for you. A pink
heart will stand for 1 heart in this gamefaq.
1 Heart CS - Celia's Love for Plants
This scene will occur on Vesta's farm. Once Celia has a pink heart for
you, go to Vesta's farm on a sunny day. Enter the house, and go back
outside. This is when the CS starts. Celia will tell you that she loves
working at the farm. She'll ask you if your farm bothers you. Select
option 2 and Celia will be happy. Then Celia will start talking about
the plants. After, Celia asks you if she sounds weird or something. You
have no say in this because your character does the head-shaking for
you. This CS can be triggered as early as early spring.
1 heart CS - Shopping Date?
Go to Vesta's farm. Press X on the door of Vesta's house. This will
trigger a CS. Celia will come out, startled to see you there. Celia
then says that she's very happy that it isn't raining. You will have an
option box. Choose "Are you free?" Just then, Marlin comes out and

25

hears Celia say "What did you have in mind?" Marlin, being the evil man
he is (lol) will remind Celia that she has to do some shopping for
Vesta. Celia embarassingly remembers and apologizes to you. You will
have another option box. Choose to go with her. Celia will be happy,
but Marlin definitely won't be. He says that he didn't know that you
came to this village to try and win girls' hearts or something. Celia
will be mad at Marlin and tell him not to be so rude. Vesta then comes
out of the storage room demanding what all the commotion is about.
Marlin, being a bit immature at this point, points his finger to you
and say, "He's stopping Celia from going!" Celia gets angrier at Marlin
at this point and yells that you weren't. You will have another option
box to say whether Marlin is right about you or to just apologize.
Apologize to Celia and this will be her reaction (Name)..... Then she
will ask you to escort her part of the way there. She will tell you
that she is sorry for Marlin's behaviour and that he isn't all that
bad. She says that he is probably just worried about her. Then you and
Celia part so that she can go buy whatever she needs to buy. This CS
can be triggered as soon as early spring.
2 Heart CS - Celia's Walk
Go into your house and out at around noon (it can be 1 or 2 o'clock, it
doesn't really matter as long as it's around noon). When you exit,
you'll see Celia walking on the path leading to the spring from your
farm. You will follow her (man, this guy is such a stalker). When she
finds out that you followed her (stalker!) she'll be a bit surprised
(cuz you stalked her! nah. just kidding... well you never know). Well,
anyways, she tells you that this is her favourite spot because she
feels very relaxed and peaceful here. Then she'll tell you be quiet.
You'll get an option box to move or not. The right answer: don't move.
Celia will then tell you that nature seems so peaceful and such.
You'll get another option box (man, there's a lot of options in this
CS!). Agree with her and she'll be happy. This CS can be triggered as
soon as spring.
3 Heart CS - Celia's Problem
Go to Vesta's farm. Press X on the door of Vesta's house. This will
trigger a CS. Celia will come out saying that you are just in time.
She asks you if you would like to come to the spring with her. Choose
"Sure". You and Celia will then be at the spring. You will then see
Celia looking distracted. You ask her what's wrong. She says that it's
nothing, but... You will then have the option to say "If you have a
problem, you can tell me" or "Cheer up!". Choose the first option.
Celia will tell you that Vesta has Celia in an arranged marriage. Celia
doesn't really want to be in an arranged marriage, but Vesta had been
so kind to her, that she doesn't want to disappoint her. You can either
tell her "Don't knock it until you've tried it" (or something like
that) or "You have to refuse". If you choose the second one, Celia will
apologize for bringing this on you and leave upset. If you choose the
first one, Celia will feel a little bit better. So choose the first
option. (I'm not sure but I think that Celia has to be the only one in
the house, so go at around 9 AM?) This CS can be triggered as soon as
late spring or so.
4 Heart CS - Celia's Undecided decision
Enter Vesta's house when they are all in the house (around 11 AM).
You will hear Vesta scolding Marlin saying that it's none of his
business (ya! go Vesta!). Then they will continue arguing until Vesta
notices you. Say "Uh, I didn't hear a thing". They will then explain to
you about the situation they are in. Celia has gone to meet the guy
that she is supposed to marry. Vesta asks her about him, and Celia says
that he is very nice, but she is still not sure as she looks at you.

26

Celia says that she will need more time. This CS can be triggered as
soon as late spring or early summer.
4 Heart CS - Runaway Celia?
Exit your house at after 6 AM. Vesta will be talking to Takakura. She
will then tell you that Celia has gone missing. Marlin will come and
say that she isn't there (wherever there is). Vesta tells Marlin to go
back home while she looks for Celia. Marlin asks why he should go home
and Vesta tells him "Why? What if Celia comes back?" Marlin reluctantly
says "Fine." (ha!). Vesta then asks you to help look for her. You agree
and head towards the spring. You look around, but you don't find her.
Saddened, you go back. As you pass your farm, something catches your
eye. You turn around to see Celia playing with your dog. Your character
goes dot-eyed and then smiles. You meet up with Celia and she tells you
that she broke off the arranged marriage. She then tells you that she
loves you. If you don't then... You now have the option of saying "I
love you too" or "I'm sorry..." If you say "I love you too", that means
that you're gonna marry her. So if Celia is the one you're after,
tell her that you love her too. Celia will be really happy and say that
she'll be the best girlfriend ever. This CS can be triggered as soon as
early summer or so.
Proposal - (may be slightly different if you didn't get the previous
cut-scene)
Celia will ask if the feather is for her. Say yes if you want to
propose to her. You and Celia will now be at the Spring. Celia will
tell you about how she would never thought that she would receive a
blue feather because blue feathers are so rare these days. That's
pretty much it. (You and Celia will be married by the end of chapter 1)
If you already had the previous scene, then you'll just end up at the
spring if you gave her the blue feather.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Muffy CS
----------------------------------------------------------------------Muffy likes coins from the excavation site and flowers. Giver her one
of these to her each day.
1 Heart CS - Attack of the dog
For some reason, I got this scene without even talking to her. Well,
anyways, to trigger this scene, leave your house at about noon.
Takakura will come to you and say that he needs to talk to you about
shipping things. You'll hear someone yell. You turn around and see
Muffy being cornered by your dog. You go to shoo away your dog. She'll
ask about why the dog barked at her, and you will say that it's because
he's protecting his territory. Muffy will ask you how your dog knows
what is his territory. You answer her and she screams out "HE MARKS
IT?!?!?!" Takakura will be quite speechless at Muffy's reactions, and
walks away. Muffy will notice Takakura and will ask if she did
something wrong. You can either tell her that Takakura isn't really
angry, or you can say that he's always like that. Choose the first
option. She will say that that's a relief. Then you will have another
option box. You can either choose "Are you all right?" or "What brings
you here?". Choose "Are you all right?" to make her happy. She will
then say that she likes farms, believe it or not. She hopes to look
around your farm another time, as she leaves your farm.
2 Heart CS - Yikes!!!!
Have two hearts on Muffy. Try to enter the bar somewhere around the
evening. Muffy will come out when you try to go in. She will tell you
that she dropped some dishes while she was washing them. Select "Listen

27

to her" (option 1). She will feel better after this.

4 Heart CS - Stalkers
Have four hearts on Muffy. Try to go to bed after 6pm-8pm. Then Muffy
will come to your house and tell you if she can stay for a while
because she thinks someone is stalking her. Then pick option 1. Then
you will start talking together. Then Griffin will knock on the door.
He will then tell you he was stalking Muffy. Then Griffin and Muffy
will go back to the bar.
4 Heart CS - It's a Date!
Go into the bar and go into Griffin's room when only Muffy is there.
You will talk to her and then you will have the option to ask her on a
date. She says that she doesnt go out with people unless she is dating
them. And then she says that if you still want to go together, she
will. If you say yes, then you will go. You don't actually see the date
but you do see when you come back. You come back and Muffy will say
that she had a really good time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Nami CS
----------------------------------------------------------------------Nami is a quiet person who has a different perspective of the world. If
you want to get to know Nami, you might find it easier if you butter
her up with some fossils, statues, yams, and trick blue flowers.
1 Heart CS - Looking around
If you have at least one red heart for her, wake up around noon, you'll
see her looking at your pasture. You will go up to her automatically.
She tells you she is okay and that you should get back to work. If you
want things to go nice, pick option two. She will then decide to look
around your farm.
1-2 Heart CS - In the Bar
If you have around one or two red hearts for her, enter the Blue Bar at
around 7:30 PM when Nami is in the Bar. In this CS, Nami will ask you
"Did you want something?" Your options are either "Is that seat taken?"
or "Let's have a drink." Choose your first option ("Is that seat
taken?") and Nami will say "It's okay. There's nobody here." Press the
X button, and Nami will say "......." and you will get another dialogue
box with 2 more options. You can either ask Nami why she came to
Forget-Me-Not Valley or you can talk about why YOU came to Forget-MeNot Valley. Ask HER why she came, Nami will say "What's with you all of
a sudden?... Why did I come here?" Then she will say she guess she
doesn't really have a reason and that she just likes travelling around.
Another dialogue box will appear with 2 more options: Turn to Nami and
nod, or "Hmmm". Choose Turn and nod, and Nami will become very shy and
embarrassed and will say "! I-I s-should be going home now. Bye." Then,
Nami will leave and Muffy will say that Nami forgot to pay her tab...
again. You can either say that you'll pay for it or laugh. Choose to
pay for Nami, and Muffy will be surprised, praising you for your
kindness and generosity. But you'll still have to pay 256G.
3 Heart CS - Missing Nami
Have three red hearts on Nami. Go inside your house about 8 am. You
then go back outside. Tim and Ruby should be there. They will tell you
that they can't find Nami anywhere. They will ask if you've seen her
anywhere. They will ask if you can help look for her. Pick option 2.
Later, you will not find her. You will then go to the inn. Tim and Ruby
will be there. Then Nami comes along and says what were they doing and
when is lunch. They are happy then they go in for lunch. Nami then says

28

that it was an accident coming back. She was hungry while she was
leaving so she came back for lunch. She then goes in. You hear Tim and
Ruby saying that you shouldn't worry about her too much.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Lumina CS
----------------------------------------------------------------------Lumina is a talented child who can play the piano quite well. However,
she likes flowers, golden wool, and moon ore very much.
1 heart CS - How to Play the Piano
Go into Romana's villa while Lumina is playing the piano. She will play
it perfectly and Romana will praise her. When Romana leaves, Lumina
will say a few things and then talk about her not knowing what it means
by playing more freely.. If you choose "Just have more fun" then she
will talk to you about stuff.. (this is the good choice). If you say to
her "Just try harder" Rock will be the one comforting her instead of
you and you don't want that. This CS can be triggered as early as late
spring.
1-2 heart CS - Accompaniment
Go into Lumina's room (I think after shes done playing the piano) and
she will talk to you about a painting/artbook. If you ask her if she
wants someone to play the piano with she will say yes and then she will
say that you are like a brother to her. This CS can be triggered as
early as late spring.
3 heart CS - In love?
I was able to get this cut-scene during fall. Go into Romana's villa
when everyone is in there and then there will be a CS with Sebastian
who will come over to you. He will ask you to come to the kitchen and
taste a new dish that he cooked. On the way you will go past Romana's
room and you will hear her and Lumina talking. You aren't really sure
about what they are talking about but Sebastian comes out and says that
you shouldn't be eavesdropping. So then you go into the kitchen and he
talks about how Lumina is getting prettier and he thinks it's because
she is in love. Then you try his new food and if you say that you like
it he will be happy. This CS can be triggered as early as summer.
4 heart CS - Timid Confession
In the fall/winter or even after the scene from the one above, go out
of the villa and Lumina will stop you. She will ask you to go to the
beach with her and if you say yes, then you will be at the beach with
her. She will ask you about who your first love was. If you reply by
asking her about hers, she will start acting shy. If you say that then
she will say something about caring for a lot of people in the village
but she feels different about you. She says a few other loving
sentences and then Sebastians calls for her and she leaves. This CS can
be triggered as early as fall.
Proposal - (may be slightly different if you didn't get the previous
cut-scene)
Give the blue feather to Lumina when she has 4 hearts for you. Show her
the blue feather and she asks if it is for her. Say yes. You are then
transported to Romana's room where all three residences of the house
are gathered. Lumina shows the feather to Romana. romana and Sebastian
become shocked. Romana says "Oh. So he is that one that you have fallen
in love with." Romana will talk about how important Lumina is to her
and asks you if you can make her happy. Choose the positive answer. At
first Romana will act mad but then she says that it was just a joke.
Sebastian comments on how cruel the joke was. And then she talks about

29

teaching Lumina about how to be a good wife. Lumina she says to you "I
will try my hardest to learn how to be a great wife!" Romana also tells
Lumina that she is going to be punished for calling her "Granny."

7.2] Child Cut-Scenes
_______________________________________________________________________
Bath 1
In chapter 2, enter your kitchen at 6:30 PM. This should trigger the
cut-scene. Your wife will tell you that you kid wants to take a bath.
You will have the option to say yes or know. Choose the option to give
your kid a bath. You will take your kid to the bathroom and give him a
bath. When you come out, your wife will say "(child's name), you're all
clean!" or something like that. To trigger this cut-scene, you cannot
be lazing about. You must do farm work. Also, your child must go out on
his/her own will (you cannot force them to go outside).
Bath 2
In chapter 2, enter your kitchen when your kid is inside but not your
wife. I think that it must be in the afternoon/evening. I think I got
the cut-scene at around 5 or 7 PM. To trigger this cut-scene, you
cannot be lazing about. You must do farm work. Also, your child must go
out on his/her own will (you cannot force them to go outside).
Son Watering crops
Wake up one morning after your son and wife. Your son will tell you that
he has watered the crops for you while you were sleeping. This is only
effective during and after chapter 3.
Treasure Box (instead of Stick)
In chapter 3, go inside your kid's room when they're in there. They will
be looking at a box. They will tell you that he found it along the
beach. You will have a few options to choose from. If you want their
scholar skills to go up, ask "what's in the box?" Then, you will have a
second dialogue box. Say "Something else could be inside". Then in your
last dialogue box, say "Your future". This will make their scholar
skills go quite high. If you don't want their scholar skills to go up
and you don't want to upset them, then say the option other than
"what's in the box?" Then they will tell you not to touch anything
in their room as they need to go to the washroom. Not very comforting,
but it's the best you can do to avoid the black angry cloud and boosting
his scholar skills.
Stick (instead of Treasure Box)
In chapter 3, go inside your kid's room when they are in there. need
more info. an opportunity to boost child's athetism interests.

7.3] Other Character Cut-Scenes
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------Chris
----------------------------------------------------------------------Women's Meeting
This CS also involves Samantha. To trigger this CS, you must be in at
least Chapter 2. Go into Dr.Hardy's house, and come out again on a sunny
day. The CS might be triggered. Basically, the cut-scene is about Chris
and Samantha talking about their children and life in the city and in
Forget-Me-Not Valley. The CS ends with Chris realizing that she has to
cook and Samantha agrees that she also has to start cooking as well.

30

----------------------------------------------------------------------Daryl
----------------------------------------------------------------------Experiment 1
To trigger this CS, befriend Daryl and go to his house at around 1 PM.
The CS is basically about Daryl and his lifetime water supply for the
valley. Unfortunately, things go wrong and Daryl has to fix a few
things.
Experiment 2
To trigger this CS, befriend Daryl and go to his house at around 1 PM.
The CS is basically about Daryl and his geothermal heat energy idea.
Again, things go wrong and Daryl has to fix a few things
Idea Stolen!
To trigger this CS, befriend Daryl and go to his house at around 1 PM.
You will see Daryl pacing around muttering "This isn't good". It seems
that Daryl's idea of a seed maker had somehow been taken and has already
been manufactured in the city. Daryl is quite upset. If you haven't
purchased the seed maker yet, Daryl will say that he will give you a
seed maker to prove that he, Daryl, invented the seed maker in the
first place.
Mukumuku 1
To trigger this CS, go into your house and come back out after 6 PM. You
will see Daryl going into the forest, so you follow him. He is surprised
as usual. He asks you if you have seen any strange things in this
forest, such as some sort of weird creature. As Daryl continues on about
this creature, you stare at Mukumuku, shocked. Once Daryl notices your
strange behaviour, he turns around and sees Mukumuku, also very shocked.
Daryl was so shocked that he ran back home.
Mukumuku 2
To trigger this CS, go into your house and come back out after 6 PM. You
will see Daryl going into the forest, so you do what you do best: you go
follow/stalk him. You again surprise him. He tells you that he's going
to catch that creature as he has layed down food on the ground.
Unfortunately, as he is bragging to you about his exquisite plan, Murrey
comes out and eats everything. Daryl is upset about this as he had to
pay for that food.
Mukumuku 3
To trigger this CS, go into your house and come back out after 6 PM. You
will see Daryl going into the forest, so you follow him. Again, he is
surprised. He then tells you that he's layed raw food on the ground
because Mukumuku likes it better than cooked food. During Daryl's
bragging, Murrey comes along and grabs the food and says that he will be
back for more. Daryl is quite upset as Murrey spoiled his plans.
Mukumuku 4
To trigger this CS, go into your house and come back out after 6 PM (it
might also need to be the 3rd or 8th of the season). You will see Daryl
going into the forest, so you follow him. Daryl is once again surprised.
He tells you that this time, nothing will stop him as he's once again
laid down some food. However, Van, Murrey, and Mukumuku all eat the food
Daryl has laid down. Daryl is once again very upset.
Mukumuku 5
To trigger this CS, go into your house and come back out after 6 PM. You
will see Daryl going into the forest, and you follow him. Daryl is

31

surprised as always. He will talk to you for a while until Mukumuku

comes along and eats all the food. While you are expecting Daryl to
become very upset again, Daryl slowly turns around saying that the food
had sleeping chemicals in it in a very creepy way. Daryl talks about how
he was one step ahead this time until he notices that Mukumuku hasn't
fallen asleep yet. Daryl then realizes that he must have used his
expensive vitamins instead! Poor Daryl becomes upset once again.
Plotting against the Cows
Exit your house sometime in the afternoon (the cut-scene was obtained
at 5:00 PM, during the Fall). In this cut-scene, you will see Daryl
spying on your cows. He will start by cackling. He then begins talking
to your cow, calling it his hated nemesis. He then speaks of having his
revenge against it. He then ponders on which experiment he will use
first. However, before he uses an experiment, he turns around to find
you, suspicious of what he is up to. Daryl stutters as he makes a sad
attempt at a cover-up. "Y-y-you! I wasn't doing anything suspicious
at all. I-I don't have anything against your cows. I was just passing
by... Yes..." Your cow suddenly gets angry and begins to headbutt the
fence. Daryl becomes very frightened by this, thinking that he will be
killed. And so, he runs off.
Observing Kids
To trigger this CS, it must be chapter 2 and you must come out of your
house. I got this during the afternoon. You will see Daryl look into the
window in your house, looking at your kid. He will say something like
"So that's what they do...." You then notice Daryl and walk up to him.
Daryl is terribly shocked and is at a loss for words. So he goes back
home.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Dr. Hardy
----------------------------------------------------------------------A Noble Deed
I got this cutscene involving Dr. Hardy on the 4th of Winter, Chapter 3
at about 9:00 pm. Walk (or ride, it doesn't matter) up to the spring and
you may trigger this cutscene. In this cutscene, Dr. Hardy wants to give
some medicine to Mukumuku but Mukumuku is scared. Dr. Hardy assumes that
Mukumuku is scared of the eyepatch so Dr. Hardy tells his story. I won't
tell you the story. It's nicer to find out for yourself. For this cutscene, it might have to be in winter because it involves Mukumuku.
(Someone else triggered this scene in Chapter 2, Winter 9, after 5 PM.
They left Vesta's farm, headed across the bridge, into the springs, and
got the cut-scene)
----------------------------------------------------------------------Galen
----------------------------------------------------------------------Reminiscing
In chapter 3, you might be able to trigger this CS. I got it on Spring 3
by crossing the bridge to Vesta's farm. What happens is that Galen talks
about how he met Nina and how she always helped him out. Galen refers it
to how Nina always held his hands. A very sweet and touching CS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Harvest Sprites
----------------------------------------------------------------------Reviving the Goddess
Go to the spring at night time (around 7 PM). I got this cut-scene
during spring. What will happen is that the harvest sprites will talk
about how the Goddess is trapped in the spring, and that they need to

32

collect nices to bring her back!

Nices? Part 1
Exit your house during the afternoon, and this CS should be triggered (I
triggered it during spring). The harvest sprites will ask if your cow is
a nice, but they all agree that it isn't.
Nices? Part 2
Go to the villa the season after Nices? Part 1, and this CS should be
triggered (I triggered it during summer). The harvest sprites will be
looking for nices once again, but find none. Romana comes out and they
ask if she's a nice, but they all agree that she isn't.
Nices? Part 3
After you've triggered the Part 2, wait until fall. Leave your farm and
head towards the majority of the town. A cut-scene should be activated.
The harvest sprites are yet again searching for a nice, but fail to
find one and decide to leave. (This happened to Renato on Fall 2, at
7:45 P.M.; I got the cut-scene on Fall 1 sometime during midday.)
Nices? Part 4
Once you've triggered the Part 3, wait until winter. Leave your farm
and head towards the majority of the town. The cut-scene will activate.
You will see Gustafa leave his yurt and will sit on the grass to play
music on his guitar. The Harvest Sprites will come from behind his
house to find a nice. However, they did not find any. Then, one of them
hears the music that Gustafa is playing. He asks if that was a nice.
All three harvest sprites will agree that Gustafa's voice is a nice.
(Renato got this cut-scene on Winter 1, at 10:00 A.M.; However, I was
able to get the cut-scene on Fall 5 during midday...)
----------------------------------------------------------------------Muffy
----------------------------------------------------------------------Sad Story 1
In chapter 2, exit your farm and head towards the bridge. You might not
even get close to the bridge to get this cut-scene. Muffy will ask you
to listen to her. Say yes. You will then listen to her sad story about
her love life in the city. She will feel better after she talks to you.
You will not get this cut-scene if you married Muffy.
Sad Story 2
In chapter 3, exit your farm and head towards the bridge to get this
cut-scene. Muffy will yet again ask you to listen to her. Say yes. You
will then listen to another sad story about her love life in the city.
She will feel better after she talks about it to you. She hopes that you
will listen to her again sometime later. You will not get this cut-scene
if you married Muffy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Murrey
----------------------------------------------------------------------Murrey Stealing!!
Put food in your freezer and the next day or two, go to the place where
your freezer is, at around 11:00 or 11:15. You will see Murrey stealing
food from yoru freezer. You will walk up to Murrey and you have two
options: "Err. Give it back" or "Keep it up". If you choose the first
option, Murrey will apologize and leave the farm. I got this cut-scene
on Summer 7th.
Goodbye, Murrey?

33

You need to keep giving him money until he won't take it from you
anymore. It took almost 3 full Chapters of giving him gifts and money
to get him to this point. I gave him 100G each time I saw him begging.
Then just enter or be in your house between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. If
you enter your house you'll get the cut-scene as soon as you enter. If
you're already in your house he'll knock on your door. I got the cutscene when I was sleeping though some days. You'll get the cut scene
where he's telling you good bye and he gives you a gift before he
leaves. It's just a dig site item.
Again?
The very next day if you're in your house between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM
you'll get the cut-scene where he tells you he spent all his money at
the bar and still needs your help.
Note: I was able to get my first Murrey cut-scenes in Winter of Chapter
3. I got my second ones in Spring of Chapter 4. I didn't get the next
one until Spring of Chapter 5. I guess that means we can only get him
to start to leave town once a chapter/year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Nami
----------------------------------------------------------------------I'm back
After chapter 1, go into the Blue Bar after Patrick goes in. This should
trigger a CS where Cody, Gustafa, and Patrick are complaining about
Nami's absence. Carter then comes in and says that he say Nami outside a
few minutes ago. The three are really excited and rush out of the bar to
see Nami. Griffin then asks if you want to go. Say that you do. You will
see Nami being welcomed by the three. Tim will then come out asking what
all the racket is about. He's happy to see Nami. Nami says that she
plans on staying in the Inn but will have to leave time to time to get
some more money. Tim refuses to let Nami pay because he thinks of her as
if she was his daughter. Nami is happy and so is everyone else. Nami
then turns to you. She will ask you a question. Answer "I'm happy you're
back" and she will be happy too. You will not get this cut-scene if you
married Nami.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Ruby
----------------------------------------------------------------------Ruby's Spice
Befriend Ruby and enter her kitchen when she's in there to trigger this
CS. Ruby will ask you if you like cooking. Say yes. She will be
delighted and will tell you to wait here. She comes back and hands you
something. She says that it's a spice that she got while she and Tim
were still travelling around the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Samantha
----------------------------------------------------------------------Eat Your Carrots!
When you enter Samantha's home when both Samantha and Kate are home, you
will probably get this CS. Samantha tells Kate to eat her carrots, but
Kate refuses to eat them and goes upstairs. Samantha asks you if she was
being too harsh. If you want to make her happy, say that she's not being
strict. This tells her that she is a good parent.
Women's Meeting
This CS also involves Chris. To trigger this CS, you must be in at least
Chapter 2. Go into Dr.Hardy's house, and come out again on a sunny day.

34

The CS might be triggered. Basically, the cut-scene is about Chris and

Samantha talking about their children and life in the city and in
Forget-Me-Not Valley. The CS ends with Chris realizing that she has to
cook and Samantha agrees that she also has to start cooking as well.
Nami and Cody?
Enter Samantha's house around noon on any day. I got it in Winter
Chapter 3 and Spring 10 Chapter 3 (on different game files). I saw her
enter and followed her in. She was standing behind the kitchen counter
and I could have exited the house if I wanted but I walked up to her
instead, meaning to talk to her. However, I got a cut-scene. In it,
Samantha talks about how she had seen Nami and Cody together. Samantha
remarks that she had never seen Cody that happy. After a lot of fade
outs, the scene ends.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Sebastian
----------------------------------------------------------------------Talking with the Expert
This CS also involves Celia and Lumina. Sebastian and Celia will talk
about the garden outside the villa. Celia will compliment the garden and
Sebastian takes her compliment very well. Unfortunately, Lumina comes
out and sees the two talking. She stares at them for a while until
Sebastian says "What can I do for you, Miss Lumina?" Lumina angrily
walks away.
Just for Lumina
This CS also involves Van, Romana, and Lumina. On a Van day, visit the
Villa once Van has gone up to it. Probably around 8:00 pm. People have
been able to get this CS in winter and spring. Once you enter the Villa,
you will see a few cutscenes. Van is trying to buy a painting from
Romana and Romana refuses, saying that it is a valuable painting. Van
leaves saying that he will come back again. Then Lumina comes down and
asks why Romana refused to sell the painting because TA DA... the person
who painted it was Lumina. Then Romana leaves giggling... Sebastian then
enters and offers to get Lumina another paintbrush. Sebastian leaves and
the options come up "to follow" or "don't follow". Choose "Follow" and
you'll arrive at the Spring where Sebastian has confronted Mukumuku.
Sebastian pulls off a few kung-fu actions but ends up getting slapped by
Mukumuku.
Reminicense
You might need to befriend Sebastian to get this scene. I got this CS
in Ch.2, Spring 5, at around 2 PM. Sebastian will welcome you and then
you will see a picture frame. You have the option of either choosing
"Is this a picture of Romana?" or "Is this Lumina?". If you pick the
first option, Sebastian will confirm that it is a picture of Romana and
will talk about when Romana was small and how he kept this picture
since taking photos back then was rare. He then tells you not to say
anything to anyone and you can either say "I understand" or "Sorry
buddy..." Pick the first option, and Sebastian will be happy, raising
his friendship towards you.

8. Mini-games
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------8.1] Milk-Drinking Game
----------------------------------------------------------------------This mini-game is played at the Inner Inn. You can play against Rock,
Grant, and Hugh.

35

I usually play against Rock on Van days at around 12:30 PM. I've been
able to get it on other days, but those seemed random. I talked to Rock
when he was standing in the lobby.
Difficulty level: Medium-Hard
You can play against Grant during chapter 2+ when he goes to the Inn.
I've been able to play against him on Van-days (3rd and 8th of each
month/season) at around 2 PM.
Difficulty level: Easy
I believe that you can play against Hugh as soon as you get to chapter
4. Talk to him when he's at the Inn.
Difficulty level: ???
To win the milk-drinking game, you have to drink the most milk. To do
this, press the X button rapidly. What I do is place the controller on
the floor and hit the X button with my index finger, as it has a faster
reaction time than my thumb. By doing this, I've been actually been able
to beat Rock at least 3 times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------8.2] Territory Capture Game
----------------------------------------------------------------------This mini-game is played in Kassey and Patrick's house/tower. You can
play against both of them when they're holding and working on
firecrackers. I usually go at around 1 PM.
I believe that you can play Kassey as soon as possible, but it might
have to be at least chapter 2 if you still can't get the mini-game in
chapter 1.
To play against Patrick, you will have to wait for chapter 3.
One way to win the territory capture game is to start in the middle and
build up from it. This is a very good strategy that has helped me to
win.
Prizes for winning:
1st - 9th win: Moon Ore
10th win: Record - 64 Memories
11th+ win: Sugar Ore
Spoiler Note: If you win the Territory Capture game at least 10 times,
you will be able to get a record.
----------------------------------------------------------------------8.3] Grave-Cleaning Game
----------------------------------------------------------------------This mini-game can be played as early as chapter 2. To play it, you must
talk to Galen when he is standing near the gravestone, that stands in
front of his new house. I usually go at around 7 AM on non-Van days to
play the game.
To win this mini-game, you must clean the gravestone in under a minute.
Do not press the X button too many times and so quickly. You should take
your time, but clean the gravestone once your arms return to your side.
Note: Playing this game will raise Galen's affection for you.

9. Excavation Site Items

_______________________________________________________________________
The excavation site is where Carter and Flora works. It is on the other
side of the waterfall. After each chapter, the site expands and more
items can be found in each chapter. The items that you were able to find
in previous chapters are still accessible.

10. Fishing
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------10.1] How and Where to Fish
----------------------------------------------------------------------To fish, you'll need the fishing rod or the fishing pole (see the tools
section for more details). To fish, hold out your fishing and press the
X button to cast it out into the water when "Use" flashes on the X
button of your button guide. You should see the fishiing line bob thingy
in the water. Now you just wait. When you hear a little sound and the
screen is bobbing up and down, this is a small nibble. DO NOT reel it in
yet. Just keep waiting as the small nibbles keep nibbling. When you hear
a sinking sound (Bloop!) and splashes of water, this means that the fish
has taken the bait. Don't reel it in too soon! Reel it in (by pressing
the X button) as the splashes of water slowly fade away. If you didn't
catch anything, that's because you either reeled it in too fast, or you
reeled it in way too slow. If you caught something, congratulations!
There are 4 general places where you can fish:
Upstream (by the waterfall), downstream (south of the bridge), the
spring (the pool of water in front of the Harvest Sprites' home), and
Turtle Swamp (the pool of water near Cody's house).
Upstream and downstream are probably the most profitable places to fish.
However, the spring and the swamp can also be profitable depending on
what you catch.

_______________________________________________________________________
12. Assets
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------12.1] Stamina, Spirit, and Appetite
----------------------------------------------------------------------Ever wondered what st, sp, and ap stood for? Well, the title is pretty
much self-explanatory. St stands for stamina, sp stands for spirit, and
ap stands for appetite.
Stamina is how tired you are. If this is low, go to sleep. In chapter 2,
you will have a bathroom and a shower built in your house. Use those
to raise your stamina. Running around and using your tools is what wears
you out.
Spirit is how happy you are. If this is low, you will notice that your
character has a sad face on. So, go and take a few drinks at the blue
bar. Also, selling a few things in your store between the Inner Inn and
the Blue Bar will help as well, depending on the success you have. Your
spirit will decrease if you starve your character. Also, in between
chapters, your spirit may decrease. Perhaps it's due to aging and the
kids?
Appetite is how hungry you are. If this is low, you will notice a Guu~
coming out and your character will pause for a while to rub his stomach.
This means that it is time to feed him. You can feed him anything that
is edible. In the beginning, you should probably just stick with the

40

cheap mountain plants, such as mugworts, and royal ferns. If you starve
your character, his spirit will decrease. Your character is usually
hungry once a day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------12.2] Your animals
----------------------------------------------------------------------In the assets, your dog will have a heart meter and a training bar. To
raise his heart meter, feed him by putting food in his dog dish. To
raise his training bar, train him. (See more details in the animals -->
dog section). If your training bar seems to stop increasing, then don't
worry. Nothing really happens if you completely fill up the bar.
Your chickens will have a heart meter and a health meter. To raise their
hearts, pick them up and put them back down as a hug. You can also
snuggle up to them when you have picked them up. To keep the health
meter stable, make sure they are being fed!
Your cows will have a heart meter and a health meter. To raise their
hearts, talk to them and snuggle them. To stabilize their health meter,
make sure that they are well fed and that you wash them about every 5
days. You will also see how many bottles of milk are available at the
moment.
Your sheep will have a heart meter and a health meter. To raise their
hearts, talk to them and snuggle them. To keep their health meter up,
make sure that they are well fed and that they are washed about every 5
days.
Your horse will only have a heart meter. Just make sure you talk to him
and snuggle him when he's awake. If his heart meter seems to have
stopped, you can raise it back up again by feeding him apples and good
fodder.
----------------------------------------------------------------------12.3] Your child
----------------------------------------------------------------------Your child will have a skills section and a likes section. You will see
6 bars in each section. These are the possible careers they can have:
Farmer
Rancher
Athlete
Musician
Artist
Scholar
This is what you should do for the career you want them to have:
Farmer
- in chapter 2, take them on daily trips to Vesta's farm
- befriend Vesta, Marlin, and Celia (if you didn't marry her)
- show your child seeds and crops
- grow many crops
- hybridize a lot
Rancher
- show your
- show your
- ride your
- hand-milk

child animals, unless they are scared of them

child animal products, such as eggs and milk
horse a lot
your cows and goat

41

Athlete
- in chapter 2, take them on daily trips to Wally's house
- befriend Wally and Hugh (and perhaps Chris)
- buy the ball from Van and put it in the Toy Box
- in chapter 3 or 4, you may receive a medal from Wally. Show it to your
child
- never ride your horse; walk or run to demonstrate exercising
- it is easier if you have less animals
- the stick scene can boost up your child's athletism (see Child CS for
more details)
Musician
- in chapter 2, take them on daily trips to the Villa and Gustafa's Yurt
- befriend Romana, Sebastian, Lumina (if you didn't marry her), and
Gustafa
- in chapter 2 or 3, you might get the music sheet from Romana. Show it
to your child
- in chapter 2 or 3, you might get the tumtum from Gustafa. Show it to
your child
Artist
- in chapter 2, take them on daily trips to Cody's place
- befriend Cody (and perhaps Kassey and Patrick)
- in chapter 3 or 4, you might get the artwork from Cody. Show it to
your child
- in chapter 3 or 4, you might get the fireworks from Patrick. Show it
to your child
- keep the Scratch Pad in the Toy Box
Scholar
- in chapter 2, take them on daily trips to Daryl's Laboratory and to
the excavation site
- befriend Daryl, Flora, and Carter
- buy the car and blocks from Van and put them in the Toy Box
- show them things from the excavation site
- milk your cows and goat with the milkers
- in chapter 3 or 4, you might get a necklace from Flora. Show it to
your child
- the box scene can boost up your child's scholarism (see Child CS for
more details)
For all of these career choices, your child will only pick one in the
end. If you want them to have a specific career, then do things said
above. Also, if your child or wife asks anything about that career,
respond positively to it. If they ask anything about another career,
respond negatively to it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------12.4] Extensions
----------------------------------------------------------------------Your House - Default
Food Storage - Default
Dog House - Default
Barn - Default
Tool Shed - Default

42

Chicken Coop - Default

Pond - 2 500G
You'll need this to get ducks. See more details in Animals --> Ducks
section
Seed Maker - 6 000G
If you didn't get it free from Daryl, you'll have to buy it now. This
turns 1 crop into 2 seeds.
Great Field - 20 000G
You will need to get the hybridize option from Tartan and talk to
Takakura first to get this in your ledger; this extension may take 2
days to be finished. This extension is very useful as it allows you to
grow all of the generation crops in this field since it is so fertile.
Chicken Yard - 10 000G
You will need to have about 4 chickens and talk to Takakura before you
get this in your ledger. With this, you can keep your chickens in a
small unit of space. Now you can feed them without a penny and they
won't wander out of your sight.
Fertilizer Maker - 15 000G
Put one object in this and it will turn into fertilizer. This extension
is quite time-consuming and not very efficient, so I would make this one
of the last things you buy, as it is a lot easier to buy fertilizer from
Vesta.
Milking Room - 60 000G
Push your cows into this room and soon, your cows will learn to go in by
themselves and you won't have to do the milking any more! This extension
is a bit frustrating at first, but it may help you. I would make this
one of the last things you buy because of the price.
Food Processing Room - 30 000G
this turns your milk into better products, such as butter and cheese
(see more details about the Food Processing Room at the bottom of this
section); this extension may take about 5 days to be finished. This
extension will be placed next to your Storage House. This building
contains a cheese maker and a butter maker. Here are the things that
you can make with them:
Butter Maker:
Normal Milk B = Butter (average quality) - 225G --> 270G
Normal Milk A = Butter (average quality) - 225G --> 270G
Normal Milk S = Good Butter - 300G --> 360G
Mother's Milk = Mother's Butter - 115G --> 138G
Goat Milk = Goat Butter - 150G --> 180G
Cheese Maker:
Normal Milk B = Cheese (average quality) - 225G --> 270G
Normal Milk A = Cheese (average quality) - 225G --> 270G
Normal Milk S = Good Cheese - 300G --> 360G
Mother's Milk = Mother's Cheese - 115G --> 138G
Goat Milk = Goat Cheese - 155G --> 186G
----------------------------------------------------------------------12.5] Profits and Deficits
----------------------------------------------------------------------Your assets page will show you how much money you have made or lost. The
top number is how much money you have made. The bottom number is how

43

much money you have spent. Subtract the top number with the bottom
number to get your profit or deficit.
In the crops and seeds section of the assets, they only count the crops
and seeds you have sold in your ledger, and not the crops and seeds you
have sold to Van. If they are worth more than 100G, then go haggle and
sell it to Van. You can sell the rest also to Van, or just sell it in
your ledger.
_______________________________________________________________________
13. Children
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------13.1] Chapter 1
----------------------------------------------------------------------There isn't much you can do about children in chapter 1 because you
don't even have children yet! But what you do in chapter 1 will affect
the type of child you have.
In AWLSE, you have the option of having either a boy or a girl. To make
sure you get the gender you want, there's good ol' Mr. Pots. Who is Mr.
Pots? Good question. Do you know where the harvest sprites' home is? If
not, go up to the waterfall, and go towards the spring. You'll see
gigantic flowers that act as lamps during the night. Follow the path of
flowers and you should see a tree with a little door at the bottom.
You'll also see two red mushrooms. Normally, I'd tell you not to eat
them, as they could be poisonous, but in this case, I have tested them
out. Pick up the red mushroom and the game will ask you if you want to
eat it. Say yes. You will then see the screen fade out. Don't worry. You
didn't faint. You'll then find yourself in the harvest sprites' home
which is filled with mushrooms. (What happened was that you ate a
mushroom that makes you shrink). Now, for Mr. Pots. Along the wall,
you'll see a bunch of pots slightly on the right. Go to the pots and
you should see the word "Check" flash on the X button of your button
guide. Press the X button. I don't remember what phrase comes first but
it's either ".........." or "there's something in here". Keep pressing
the X button. The phrase will change every 10 times. Don't worry if Mr.
Pots is angry and if the harvest sprites say you made him mad. It's
normal, don't panic. Just press the X button 100 times or so until Mr.
Pots says "You win...." Talk to one of the harvest sprites (doesn't
matter who) and they will ask you what you want your kid to be: Male or
Female. This is how you choose the gender of your child.
The other thing that will affect that type of child you have is who you
marry.
Celia - her child will be inclined to farming and ranching. A bit
active, but not THAT active
Muffy - her child will be inclined to athletism and art. Very active and
a bit on the mischievous side
Nami - her child will be inclined to scholarism and art. A bit on the
timid side
Lumina - her child will be inclined to music and scholarism. A bit on
the active side
----------------------------------------------------------------------13.2] Chapter 2
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

44

This is the first chapter you will experience with your child. Your
child is just a toddler at this stage. Here are the physical
descriptions of each child.
Celia's son - wearing green clothes, brown hair
Muffy's son - wearing blue and white striped clothes, blonde hair
Nami's son - wearing pale blue clothes, red hair
Lumina's son - wearing orange and brown clothes, dirty blonde hair
Any wife's daughter - wearing orange and brown clothes, dirty blonde
hair
*Note: Lumina's son and daughter look very similar, so it's very
difficult to tell what gender they are if you didn't use Mr. Pots
This chapter is very important in influencing your child. It is the only
chapter in which you can pick your child up and carry them to places. So
take them on daily trips to places that will influence them to like the
career you want them to have.
Farmer - Vesta's farm
Rancher - Your own farm
Athlete - Wally's house
Musician - Romana's house, Gustafa's Yurt
Artist - Cody's Studio
Scholar - Daryl's lab, the excavation site
----------------------------------------------------------------------13.3] Chapter 3
----------------------------------------------------------------------If you have taken your child on daily trips to the places listed above
(for the career you have chosen), then it should make things a bit
easier. Your child is around the age of 8 or so.
Now, you can receive gifts from the villagers that will boost your
child's interests in a career. Also, you can start to give your child
gifts.
Farmer - farming tools, seeds, crops, flowers
Rancher - animal produce (ex. milk, eggs), animals (ex. chicken)
Athlete - Wally's medal
Musician - Romana's Music Sheet, Gustafa's Tumtum
Artist - flowers, moon ore, Cody's artwork, Patrick's fireworks
Scholar - excavation items, Flora's necklace
There are even more things to do to encourage your child. See Section
11.3 for more details (Assets --> Your child).
----------------------------------------------------------------------13.4] Chapter 4
----------------------------------------------------------------------In this chapter, your child is around their teens. Probably 13-16 range.
You'll notice that as each chapter passes by, it gets a bit harder to
influence your child because they become more observant in their own
personal lives, and they become a bit stubborn.
Keep giving them gifts to encourage the career you want them to have,
and remember to befriend the people who influence your child. See

45

Section 11.3 for more details.

----------------------------------------------------------------------13.5] Chapter 5
----------------------------------------------------------------------Now, your child is in their young adult stage. Around their 18-20 range.
Now your "child" is acting more mature and knowledgeable.
Keep those gifts coming and their role models in good terms!
----------------------------------------------------------------------13.6] Chapter 6
----------------------------------------------------------------------This is the last chapter. Your child is probably around their early 20's
or so.
Do everything you can to try to raise their likes in the career you want
them to have. Give them gifts!
At the end of chapter 6, a tragedy will happen and your child will
choose the career they will follow.

14. Sources of Profits
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------14.1] Takakura
----------------------------------------------------------------------Takakura, your best friend, is also a hard worker. He'll walk from the
country, to the city, and back to the country just to help you out. In
your Storage House, you will see 3 things, a notebook and a tin box, a
dairy box, and a basket. The notebook and tin box section, is where you
order for things to help you around the farm, and to sell your animals,
if it is really necessary. The dairy box is where you put your dairy
products, such as milk, cheese, butter, and eggs (although eggs really
aren't dairy products. They're in the meat and alternatives category).
The basket is where you put your crops and seeds. Now, make sure that
those are the items that you want to sell, as you cannot get them back
after Takakura has taken them to the city. If you've done this after
5 AM, then you can get your money the next day, at around 1 PM, by
looking at your notebook and tin box. If you've done this before 5 AM,
then you can get your money on the same day, at around 1 PM, by looking
at your notebook and tin box.
----------------------------------------------------------------------14.2] Van
----------------------------------------------------------------------This guy is probably the main source of your big-time profits. Van comes
to the valley on the 3rd and 8th of each month/season. He will set up
his shop between the Inner Inn and the Blue Bar at around 12-1 PM. Show
him an item that you want to sell. If it's 100G or lower, then that's
all he's gonna give you. But if it's higher than 100G, then you can
haggle it so that he'll raise the price. For example, sashimi's original
price is 150G. Show that to him, and he'll offer 150G. Say "no" and he
might say "All right. How about 180G?" Accept, as that is the highest he
will go, once he's offered a better price. If he says "that's too bad",
then keep trying to haggle the prices. The haggling process is proven to
be a lot easier once you've given him gifts or befriended him. Van likes
eggs and coins from the excavation site, so give that to him before he
sets up his shop.
Also, you can buy many useful items from Van. You can buy toys for your

46

kids that will boost up their interests in a career, a record, a goat,

medicine, different house interiors, and many more!
----------------------------------------------------------------------14.3] You and Your Shop
----------------------------------------------------------------------If you're in desperate need for money right away and Van's not there,
then your shop seems to be the best option. To open your shop, go to the
tree that's between the Inner Inn and the Blue Bar. You should see the
word "Sales" flash on the X button of your button guide. Press the X
button, and the screen will change into the view of your shop and any
possible customers. The best time to open your shop is during the early
morning and late afternoon. As people come by, they will see your shop
and may want to buy something. Talk to them, and they will probably say
something along the lines of "hmm...that ____ looks pretty good. How
much is it?" Now, you have the option of giving it to them for the
original price, a haggled price by a few coins (depends on the original
price), or to not sell it at all. To make sure that your customers don't
want to buy anything that you really need (ex. strange hoe), put it in
your tool shed, on the shelf, in the fridge, and wherever else there
might be room available. Also, selling things in your shop has proved to
help raise your spirit, depending on your success.

15. Facts and Tips
_______________________________________________________________________
----------------------------------------------------------------------15.1] Money-Making Tips
----------------------------------------------------------------------To be able to run a farm, you'll need to have money! So here are some
ways to make and save money.
1. Fishing
As soon as you buy your fishing rod from Van, fish a lot downstream and
upstream. If you have the entree option in your kitchen, turn the cheap
fish (100G or less) into sashimi (entree --> fish = sashimi). Each
sashimi is worth 150G, but can be haggled for 180G each. If you catch
fish that's worth more than 100G, then haggle it with Van and sell it.
2. Banana Trees
To get money as soon as you can, buy banana seeds from Vesta. Plant them
in one of your fields (I recommend the first field near your house). Now
just wait until next year (you don't have to water your trees). During
chapter 2 spring, your banana trees should flower. In summer (might not
be the first day of summer), you will see bananas in your tree. You can
either wait for the bananas to fall off, or you can go to the tree
(you'll see the word "Shake" flash on the X button of your button guide)
and shake the bananas off. The bananas will fall to the ground. Pick
them up with the X button. Now, if you have a seed maker, turn all (or
most) of the bananas into banana seeds. Once they have become seeds,
take them to Van, haggle the price, and sell it.
3. Free Seed Maker
Befriend Daryl. Once his head turns toward you as you pass him by, go to
his house at around 1 PM. You should get the cut-scene where he will
give you the free seed maker. However, you cannot get the free seed
maker if you've talked to Takakura and he's offered to buy it. The seed
maker will be in your ledger for 6000G if you've talked to Takakura,
which will mean that you are ineligible to get the free seed maker.
4. Dhibe Cakes

47

In chapter 2, get tartan. Once you have him and the hybridize option,
make some dhibe seeds using turnip (seeds) and strawberry (seeds). Plant
as many dhibe seeds as you want. Once they are fully grown, harvest
them. Then, go to your kitchen (you'll need the dessert option). Use
the recipe for dhibe cakes (dessert --> dhibe, milk, egg = dhibe cake).
Take your dhibe cakes to Van, haggle the price, and sell them to him.
Each dhibe cake can be haggled for 2010G each!!! This is one of the best
ways to make quick money.
5. Excavation Site
As the chapters pass by, the excavation site will become bigger and more
rare items can be found. These rare items will be worth much more and
can actually be haggled with when you are selling them to Van. So do a
lot of digging in the later chapters.
6. Star Cows
Once you have a bull and a cow that has just recently given birth, buy a
star cow as soon as you can. Impregnate it and go through the whole
pregnancy process with it. Once it has given birth, it will give you star
milk. Star milk sells for a very high price and the best part is, you can
get a lot of star milk in just 1 day! Remember to haggle the price with
Van!
----------------------------------------------------------------------15.2] Pasture Facts
----------------------------------------------------------------------Here are some things about your pasture that you may want to know
about.
Amount of Grass:
Your pasture originally has 364 units of grass that can be fertilized.
However, once you get the pond, you lose 16 units of grass, leaving you
with 348 units of grass.
Fertilizing Your Pasture:
If you fertilize your pasture on Spring Day 1, it will be mature and
ready to cut on Spring Day 8. If you fertilize your pasture on Summer
Day 1, it will be mature and ready to cut on Summer Day 6. If you
fertilize your pasture on Fall Day 1, it will be mature and ready to
cut on Fall Day 9.
----------------------------------------------------------------------15.3] Other Facts and Tips
----------------------------------------------------------------------Here are some other helpful facts and tips.
Son or Daughter?
In this version, you can have either a son or a daughter. Wanna make
sure you get your favourite gender? Then go to Mr. Pots!
"Where's Mr. Pots?" you ask. Well, he's in the harvest sprites' house.
"Where's the harvest sprites' house?" you ask again. Their house is in
a tree near the spring. Their house will have a tiny door and 2 red
mushrooms in front of them. Normally, I wouldn't tell you this, but
pick up a red mushroom and eat it. (Don't worry it's not poisonous.)
The mushroom has caused you to shrink so that you can enter the harvest
sprites' house. Now that you're in the house, let's go talk to Mr.
Pots. Mr. Pots is really... well... a pot. So just go to the right side
of the wall, and you should see a few pots there. Go to those pots and
the word "Check" should flash on the X button of your button guide.
Press the X button and a phrase should pop up. Press the X button 100
times. (You don't need to count. Just press it a lot of times). The

48

phrase will change every 10 times you press the X button. Once Mr. Pots
says "You win...", talk to one of the harvest sprites. He'll ask you
what gender you want your child to be. Pick either Male or Female. No,
you can't pick both. Once you've picked, you're set for life! ...Well,
at least a part of your life.
Cows Giving Birth
Save the morning before your cow gives birth. If your cow gives birth
to a calf with a gender or type that you weren't hoping for, then you
can load to your file that was saved just very recently. Wait for the
birth of your calf again. If it is still not the calf you were hoping
for, just keep on loading until you get the type of calf you want. For
example, you breed a star cow with a normal bull. You are hoping for a
female star calf. On the day of the birth, you save around 2 game hours
before the birth. The birth occurs, and instead of a female star calf,
you get a male normal calf. You are probably disappointed with your
luck. So, to make yourself happy again, you can load to the file saved
2 game hours before the birth, and wait for the birth to happen again.
Keep on repeating this cycle until you either get the calf you want, or
after you get completely frustrated with this.

16. Festivals
_______________________________________________________________________
If you played harvest moon versions with a lot of festivals in it, I've
got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that there are
festivals in AWLSE. The bad news is that there are only 4 festivals and
well... they aren't really interactive at all.
However, you don't have to go to these festivals if you don't want to.
But if you do go, you don't have to worry too much about the time. The
festivals usually only take about 1 game hour and maybe 1 real minute.
New Year's Day Festival
Location: Romana's Villa
Day: Spring 1
Time: ???
Trigger: Enter Romana's Villa
Yes, it's the annual new year's day festival! Let's all party with some
great music, great food, and great friends.
Summer Festival
Location: Outside Gustafa's Yurt
Day: Summer 3 (???)
Time: Noon-5PM (???)
Trigger: Exit your house during around midday
Let's all start the summer with Gustafa's great music talents!
Harvest Festival
Location: Blue Bar
Day: Fall 5
Time: Noon-5PM
Trigger: Either Exit your house during midday or go to the Blue Bar Inn
during midday
Mmm. Vesta's harvested goodies sure are delicious!
Starry Night Festival
Location: Outside Gustafa's Yurt
Day: Winter 7
Time: 6PM-11PM
Trigger: Exit your house during the evening.
Mukumuku will be there too!

18. Frequently Asked Questions
_______________________________________________________________________
Q: What does st, sp, and ap stand for?
A: St stands for stamina, sp stands for spirit, and ap stands for
appetite. If your stamina is low, you can sleep or take a shower (shower
is installed in chapter 2). If your spirit is low, go buy a few drinks
from the blue bar and sell a few things in your store. If your appetite
is low, eat something that is edible.
Q: How do I set up my shop?
A: You know where the Inner Inn and Blue Bar are? Well, in between those
two buildings, is a tree. Go to the tree. You should see the word
"Sales" flash on your X button of the button guide. Press the X button
and your shop will be set up. To sell your products, wait for people to
come by. Once they come close enough, talk to them, and they may offer
to buy something form you. The best times to shop is during the early
morning and late afternoon.
Q: How do I get my horse? It's already fall!
A: Don't worry it's not too late. Just ship something, and the next day,
Takakura should bring you a horse sometime around noon. He'll interrupt
you no matter what you're doing and where you are.
Q: How do I get fertilizer?
A: In the beginning of the game, you'll usually only be able to afford a
few things. So you'll most likely go to Vesta's and buy fertilizer for
her. Talk to Vesta, Marlin, or Celia. Fertilizer is on the third screen
of options. Each fertilizer costs 40G.
Later on in the game, you can buy a fertilizer maker for 15 000G. Using
the fertilizer maker, you can put two items (ex. 2 flowers) to get 1 bag
of fertilizer.
Q: How do I get more fodder?
A: You have to fertilize your pasture with fertilizer. Hold out the
fertilizer in front of you. You should see a selected unit in a frame of
yellow. Press the X button and you should fertilize that unit. This unit
of grass will never need to be fertilized again. It will keep on
growing. Once you've fertilized the amount of grass you want, wait.
After about 8 days or so, the grass should become taller and darker.
Stand in front of the grass holding out the sickle. If it says "Use" on
the X button of your button guide, then the grass is ready to be cut.
Cut the grass and the fodder will automatically be transported to the
silo in the barn.
Q: I only have soup and salad! How do I get other options?
A: To get the entree and dessert options, you must cook around 20-25
recipes using the soup and salad option. The quickest way is to plant
and harvest 25 turnips and turn them all into Light Pickles. Once the
entree option is unlocked, you can turn all your cheap fish into sashimi
(about 10) to unlock the main dish option.
Q: How do I get the blue feather?
A: The Harvest Sprites will give you the blue feather during summer,
interrupting you whatever you're doing, wherever you are. This does not
rely on how many hearts a girl has for you.
Q: When is the wedding?

53

A: After you proposed to a girl, you must wait until the day after
winter 10, chapter 1. You will get a cut-scene of you and your soon-tobe wife telling everyone you are getting married.
Q: Why did my cows stop giving me milk?
A: Because her milking period has ended. Every cow has a milking period
of 40 days. After those 40 days, the cow will go dry and you'll need to
impregnate it with a miracle potion, wait for the birth of the calf, and
your cow should give its regular milk soon.
Q: When will my purchased cow give milk?
A: First, you must wait for it to mature. This will take about 18 days.
Once it has matured, impregnate it with a miracle potion. It will take
about 12 days until the cow is put into isolation, 5 days in isolation,
the cow gives birth, the cow gives 4 days of mother's milk, and then it
will give its regular milk. So it will take a total of about 39 days for
a purchased cow...
Q: What is the purpose of a bull?
A: Once the bull has matured, you can use it for free miracle potions.
Just go to your ledger and go to miracle potion. Choose the Farm's Bull
and then the cow, and your miracle potion will be free!
Q: How do I get the chicken yard?
A: To get the chicken yard in your ledger, you must first have at least
4 chickens. If you do, then talk to Takakura. He should talk about how
your chicken coop might get crowded and that he's thinking about making
a chicken yard for you. So now, you just have to go to your ledger and
be ready to pay 10 000G for your chicken yard.
Q: How do I get Tartan?
A: To get Tartan, you'll need to ship something. The next day, go to
Takakura's house. I went at around 9 PM and I got the cut-scene.
Takakura sleeps at 9:30 PM. Rain may affect the availability of the
cut-scene that day. Also, there is a rumoured glitch that some people
have that prevents them from getting tartan.
Q: How do I get the hybridize option?
A: You'll need to talk to Tartan for around 5-10 real minutes. Yes, it
does take a while, but it gets the job done.
Q: How do I get the Great Field?
A: You'll need to have Tartan and the hybridize option. Then, talk to
Takakura, and he should talk about clearing that forest on your farm.
Go to your ledger, and the Great Field should be under extensions for
20 000G.
Q: Is there a specific order to get the special tools?
A: The only type of order there is, is to get the strange version of
that tool before you get the weird version of it. For example, you will
need to have the strange hoe before you can get the weird hoe.
Q: How many chapters are there in the game?
A: There are 6 chapters in the main story. Chapter 7 is called Heaven
and is basically free unlimited play. This means that the game will go
on forever until you get bored of doing the same things over and over
again.
Q: How can I get the chihuahua, the turtle, the raccoon, the lizard, or
the owl?
A: You cannot get any of those animals. These are just false rumours.

54

You can seem them in the game, but you cannot have them as your own
animals. (The chihuahua will be wandering around at the excavation
site, the turtle will visit the swamp, the raccoon will stroll behind
Vesta's farm, the lizard will go to the waterfall, and the owl will be
sitting on a branch near the spring and the harvest sprites' house). I
REPEAT! YOU CANNOT GET THOSE ANIMALS!
Q: Is Ruby's spice infinite? Can I duplicate it?
A: Yes, Ruby's spice is infinite. No, you cannot duplicate the spice.
That was a glitch in AWL for Gamecube and Natsume fixed that glitch for
this version. The only use for duplicating it was that you could sell
it to Van countless times. But it really is not needed. There are a lot
of different ways you can make money.
Q: How can I befriend the harvest sprites?
A: You can't and you don't need to befriend the harvest sprites. They
won't accept any gifts. And yet, they still "help" you out a bit on
your farm!
Q: Can the harvest sprites help me out like they did in other versions?
(ex. BTN)
A: No, they don't. But they do help you out with the calf hutch, teach
you about the isolation fence, and bring you out to meet your newborn
animals. They also end up giving you a blue feather in chapter 1.
