My name is Jean Ching and I will be graduating from University of South Florida in
August 2016 with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am writing to apply to a registered nurse
position at your hospital. I believe I can be a valuable asset to your team of registered nurses.
As a new graduate, I am a hard-worker and team oriented. I focus on prioritizing and
getting tasks done while upholding the culture of patient safety. I can learn new concepts quickly,
work well under pressure, and communicate ideas in an effective manner. As a student, I have
interned at Bayfront Health Center in St. Petersburg, Florida for my clinical preceptorship. While
there, I worked in the cardiovascular intensive care unit alongside a registered nurse to gain and
improve my skills. I was able to perform basic and essential skills compliant with the standard of
care of a novice nurse. During my time in the ICU, I was able to develop my critical thinking
skills and I hope to advance my knowledge in critical care. As an extension of my learning and
dedication to patient safety and quality care, I attended an external pacemaker lecture to be
acquaint with the equipment and its functions. I hope to be part of your team and gain knowledge
of an experienced nurse as well as growth and development, personally and professional.
