SECTION1
Introduction

1.1MissionStatement
The32ndRangerBattalionMilitarySimulationUnit(32ndRangers)isagroupofmature
individualswhoenjoyandappreciatetheelementsofteamworkandcomraderymadepossible
throughmembershipinacohesiveMilSimGamingunit.Ourmemberscomefromallwalksof
life,includingconfirmedmilitaryveteransfromvariouscountriesaroundtheworld,aswellas
thosewhosecombatexperienceisstrictlyinvirtualworlds.ThroughMilSim,wehavefound
commonground,singularityofpurpose,andawelcomingbrotherhood.Asournamesuggests,we
strive,sofarasthelimitsofvirtualrealityallow,toaccuratelyreplicaterealworldcombatfrom
theperspectiveofsoldiersinthe75thRangerRegiment,withoutfullyadoptingtheirname,andin
sodoing,fosteramongourmemberstheidealsofloyalty,commitment,integrity,andhonor.

1.2Historyofthe32ndRangerBattalionMilitarySimulationUnit
ToBeAdded

1.3PurposeoftheHandbook
Thishandbookiswrittentooutlinerules,procedures,andpoliciestoensurethatmembersare
adheringtostandardsprescribedbythe32ndRangeBattalion.Thishandbookadvisesmembers
ofhowthe32ndRangeBattalionoperatesaswellasprotectsindividualmembersbysetting
guidelinessuchaspromotionalpolicy,dischargepolicy,andrequirementsforadvanced
schooling.

Anyerrorsinthishandbookshouldbebroughttotheattentionofyoursupervisorand/orthe
CompanyFirstSergeantsoitcanberectified.

SECTION2
Recruitment

2.1RecruitmentGuidelines
Potentialrecruitsmustfollowtheproperproceduretobeenlistedasamemberofthe32ndRanger
Battalion.
(1) Potentialrecruitsmustsubmitacompletedapplicationonthe32ndRangerBattalion
forums.Incompleteapplicationswillbedeclined.Theapplicationmustinclude,at
minimum,(1)Firstinitial,(2)Lastname,maybeanalias,(3)Age,(4)SteamID,(5)
Arma3PlayerID,(6)PreviousClans[YES/NO],(7)Previousclanslist,(8)Is
TeamSpeak3installed?,(9)Doyouhaveamicrophone?,(10)Howdidyouhearabout
the32ndRangerBattalion?
(2) Aftersubmittinganapplication,amemberofS1,preferablyarecruiterbutmaybeany
memberofS1,willacceptordeclinetheapplicationasdirectedin2.2and2.3ofthis
handbook.
(3) Onceaccepted,amemberofS1willrespondontheapplicant'sapplicationpost.The
contentwillstatethatthememberhasbeenACCEPTEDintothe32ndRangerBattalion,
aforumprivatemessageoutliningthenextstepsoftherecruitmentprocess,howtoget
the32ndRangerBattalionmodpack,andgivetheapplicanttherankofRecruit.
(4) Iftheapplicantisdenied,anS1recruiterwillrespondontheapplicant'sapplicationwhy
theapplicantisdeclined,asoutlinedin2.3ofthissection,andwhentheapplicantwillbe
eligibleforreenlistment.

2.2

TermsforAcceptance
Recruitswillbeacceptedifallofthefollowingaretrue.
(1) Applicantsmust:
(a) Beatleast16yearsofage,15ifgrantedexemptionbycommandstaff,
(b) Applicantsarenotamemberofanotherunit/clan,
(i)
Thosewhoaremustshowproofthattheyhaverequesteddischargefrom
theircurrentunit.Thisrequestmaybedoneafterbeingacceptedintothe
32ndRangerBattalionatanOnHoldstatus,butmustberequested
beforeadmittanceintoBasicCombatTraining.
(c) PassabackgroundcheckcompletedbyS1orS2personnel,
(i)
Abackgroundcheckistodeterminetheeligibilityofanapplicantbased
onpreviousexperienceswithotherunitsintheArmacommunityaswell
asoverallstandingwithSteam.
(d) PassaninterviewconductedinTeamSpeakwithamemberofS1.

2.3TermsforDismissal
Recruitswillbedismissediftheyarefoundtobeunsuitableformembershipwiththe32nd
RangerBattalion.Theseconditionsinclude,butarenotlimitedto:
(1) Donotmeetagerequirements,
(2) Failuretofilloutanapplicationcompletely,

(3) Aremembersofanotherunitanddonotrequestdischargefromsaidunitwithin3daysof
beingplacedOnHold,
(4) FailuretopassabackgroundcheckconductedbyS1orS2personnel,
(5) FailuretopassaTeamSpeakinterviewconductedbyS1personnel,
(6) Failuretomakereasonableeffortstomakecommunicationwithmembersofthe32nd
RangerBattalion,
(7) Lyingonapplicationstodeceiverecruitingpersonnel,
(8) Lackofmaturityasdecidedbyrecruitingpersonnel,

2.4ReenlistmentafterApplicationFailure
Ifitsfoundthatanapplicantisnotawardedmembershipandtheirapplicationissubsequently
dismissed,theremaybeaperiodoftimebeforeanapplicantmayreapply.Thelengthbetweenthe
applicationbeingfiledandtheapplicantbeingallowedtoreapplyisknownasacooloffperiod.

TermsforDismissal(1)requiresacooloffperioduntiltheapplicantreachestheageof16.Terms
forDismissal(2)requiresacooloffperiodof7days.TermsforDismissal(3)through(6)require
acooloffperiodof14days.TermsforDismissal(7)and(8)requireaminimumcooloffperiod
of30daysbutmaybelongerunderspecialcircumstancesasdeterminedbyCommandStaff.

2.5Veteran/ActiveDuty
ApplicantswhoareActiveDutyorVeteransareencouragedtoenlistinthe32ndRanger
Battalion.Asawayofshowingthanks,thosewhohavetheirservicesconfirmedwillreceivea
TeamSpeaktagsignifyingtheirmilitaryserviceaswellasacceleratedthroughourranks.After
completingMOSspecifictraining,theywillreceiveoneadditionalrank.

ActiveDuty/Veteranstatusisdescribedas:Anapplicantwhoispartoforhasbeenpartofthe
UnitedStatesofAmerica:Army,Navy,AirForce,MarineCorps,CoastGuard,ArmyNational
Guard,orAirForceNationalGuard.JROTCorROTCarenotacceptedformsofmilitaryservice.
OthersourcesofmilitaryservicemaybeacceptedatthediscretionofCommandStaff.

Section3
CommandStaff

3.1Composition
CommandStaffiscomposedofprimarilythosewhowerecreators32ndRangerBattalion.While
the32ndRangerBattalionisademocratictypeorganization,CommandStaffhasfinalsayover
decisionsmadetotheunit.Whenchoosingwhatdirectiontogo,whatnewthingstoimplement,
howthingswillultimatelyrun,CommandStaffwillbeleadingtheway.

CommandStaffistobecomposedofatleast5membersbutnotmorethan9.Notablemembers
CommandStaffshouldincludeare:Foundersofthe32ndRangerBattalion,Company
Commander,CompanyExecutiveCommander,CompanyFirstSergeant,andadditionalmembers
thatareatthetopoftheunit.

MembersofCommandStaffmustactivelyparticipateintheunitsdaytodayactivitiesandmay
notberetiredmembers.

3.2VotingPolicy
Whenpolicyorsituationdictatesthatavoteisneeded,CommandStaffistocometogetherina
privateTeamSpeakroomanddiscussthesituationathand.Avoteistotakeplacewithina
reasonabletimeaftertheconferencebegins.Aminimumof50%ofCommandStaffpersonnelare
requiredtobepresentforavotetotakeplace.MajorproposalsshouldhaveasmanyCommand
Staffmemberspresentaspossible.

IfamemberofCommandStaffisnotpresent,everyreasonableattemptshouldbemadeto
consultwiththemtoreceivetheirvotebeforeavoteisplaced.Suggestedmethodsinclude
Facebookinstantmessage,cellphonecallsortexts,oremail.Ifattemptstogaincontactwitha
memberofCommandStaffareunsuccessfulandthetimehascomeforavote,theirvotewillbe
castasStandingVote(Neutral,novote).

Unlessotherwisenoted,onlyamajorityvoteisrequired.Thesidethatreceivesmajorityofvotes
willbethedecidedcourseofaction.Ifvotingendsinatie,therewillbeamaximum15minutes
ofdiscussionregardingthematterathandfollowedbyanothervote.If,afterdeliberation,the
secondvoteisatie,thenthesuggestedcourseofactionwillnotpass.

TheonlysubjectsthatrequireaunanimousdecisionbyCommandStaffareallowing
blacklisted/permabannedmembersbackintotheunit,allowingblacklisted/permabannedmembers
backintotheTeamSpeak,andremovingmembersofCommandStaff.

Subjectsthatmaygotovoteinclude,butarenotlimitedto:Addingnew
sections/platoons/companiestothe32ndRangerBattalion,promotionsofpersonnel,demotionsof
personnel,andvariouschangestounitpolicy.

Section4
RankStructure

4.132ndBattalionRanks
Inaccordancewiththe32ndRangerBattalionsmissiontoaccuratelyreplicaterealworldcombat
fromtheperspectiveofsoldiersinthe75thRangerRegiment,wehavecomposedarankstructure
builtaftertodaysmodernUnitedStatesArmy.

4.1.1BattalionLevel
TheBattalioniscommandedbytheBattalionCommander(CO),aLieutenantColonel.
Heistheleadingmemberoftheunit.Hisjobistooverseedailyoperationsoftheunitand
assisttheRegimentmemberswithadministrativeduties.Heisalsotheseniormost
officeronthebattlefieldandatthehelmofwartimeoperations.

ToassisttheCompanyCommanderishisCompanyExecutiveOfficer(XO),aMajor.
TheXOoverseesadministrativedutiesthatdirectlyrelatetopersonnel,servers,website,
andteamspeak.IntheabsenceoftheBattalionCO,theXOtakescommand.

ThelastmemberatthecompanylevelistheBattalionCommandSergeantMajor.The
CSMdirectlyoverseesthetraininganddevelopmentofthecompanyasawhole.In
additiontothisheistheseniorNCOwithintheBattalion.He/Sheisalsotaskedwiththe
developmentofhisotherNCOs.He/SheistheCommandersrighthandmanand
enforcer.

4.1.2CompanyLevel
TheCompanyiscommandedbytheCompanyCommander(CO),aCaptain.Heisthe
leadingmemberoftheunit.HisjobistooverseedailyoperationsoftheCompanyand
assisttheRegimentmemberswithadministrativeduties.

ToassisttheCompanyCommanderishisCompanyExecutiveOfficer(XO),a
Lieutenant.TheXOoverseesadministrativedutiesthatdirectlyrelatetopersonnel,
servers,website,andteamspeak.TheXOalsoassistswiththedevelopmentoftheofficers
withintheunit.IntheabsenceoftheCompanyCO,theXOtakescommand.

ThelastmemberatthecompanylevelistheCompanyFirstSergeant.The1SGdirectly
overseesthetraininganddevelopmentofthecompanyasawhole.Inadditiontothisheis
theseniorNCOwithintheCompany.He/Sheisalsotaskedwiththedevelopmentofhis
otherNCOs.He/SheistheCommandersrighthandmanandenforcer.

4.1.3PlatoonLevel
PlatoonLeaders,aLieutenant,areinchargeofa40+manplatoon.Theyareresponsible
forplanningoperationsandmovementoftheplatoon.

ToassistthePlatoonLeader,aSergeantFirstClassisdesignatedasPlatoonSergeant,
PSG.APSGaretheseniorNCOsintheirplatoon.Theyareresponsiblefortrainingand
wellbeingoftheirsoldiers.Theyassisttheplatoonleaderwiththeoversightofthe
platooninandoutofoperations.

4.1.4SquadLevel
LeadingasquadistheSquadLeader,typicallyaStaffSergeant.Squadleadersaretasked
withdirectoversightoftheirsquadoftwofireteams.They,withtheassistanceoftheir
teamleaders,areresponsibleforthetrainingoftheirsquad,recommendationsfor
promotion,anddisciplinethatdoesnotmeetUCMJlevel.

EachfireteamisleadbyaTeamLeader,normallyrankedCorporalorSergeant.Team
Leadersarethebackboneofthe32ndRangerBattalionandholdthemostdifficult
leadershipposition.Theyareresponsibleforthethreeenlistedpersonnelintheirfireteam
atalltimes,leadingthemthroughdangerousbattlefieldscenarios,aswellascoordinating
theirtraining.

Finally,theindividualmember.RankedbetweenPrivateandSpecialist,theindividual
fireteammemberisthebulkoftheforce.Withouttheindividualmember,thereisno
chancetocompletethemission.Theindividualmembersaretaskedwithconductingthe
dutiesappointedforthembytheirteamleaderorsquadleader.

4.1.5160thSOAR
Similartothe32ndRangerBattaliongroundelement,the160thSOARdetachmentisled
byaCommandingOfficer,aLieutenant.TheCOof160thSOARisintotalchargeofthe
airelement.Hedirectstrainingandairmissionsamongothertasks.

The160thSOARCOisincommandofotherpilots.Thosepilotsholdtherankof
WarrantOfficer.TheseranksvaryfromanewWarrantOfficerCandidatethroughChief
WarrantOfficer5baseduponexperienceandtimeinservice.

4.2Billets
Inordertoreceiveapromotion,inadditiontonumerousprerequisitesamembermustattain,a
billetmustbeopenforthatrank.Thinkofthisasanopeningforajob.Ifthereisnoneedfor
someonetofillajob,thereisnoneedforamembertogetapromotiontothatjobslot.

4.2.1OfficerBillets
InordertoattaintherankofCAPTAIN,theremustbeanavailabilityattheCompany
Commanderlevel.InordertomaketherankofLIEUTENANT,theremustbean
availabilityatthePlatoonLeaderlevelORaneedfortherankasdeterminedby
CommandStaff.

4.2.2WarrantOfficerBillets

PromotionsforWarrantOfficersdonotrelyasmuchonbilletopeningsastheydoon
technicalexperience,expertisewithintheircraft,andoverallassistancegiventotheunit.

4.2.3SeniorNonCommissionedOfficerBillets
InordertoattaintherankofFIRSTSERGEANT,theremustbeanavailabilityatthe
CompanyFirstSergeantposition.InordertoattaintherankofSERGEANTFIRST
CLASS,theremustbeanavailabilityatthePlatoonSergeantposition.

4.2.4JuniorNonCommissionedOfficerBillets
InordertoattaintherankofSTAFFSERGEANT,theremustbeanavailabilityatthe
SquadLeaderposition.InordertoattaintherankofSERGEANTorCORPORAL,there
mustbeanavailabilityattheFireteamLeaderposition.

Unfortunately,thesituationmayarisewhereanindividualsactionswillwarrantpunishmentand
lossofrankisastipulationofthepunishment.Thispolicyisinplacetoprotectbothleadersand
membersbyoutliningconcreteguidelinesregardingdemotions.

6.2PunitiveDemotions
Apunitivedemotionisdefinedaspunishmentforawrongdoing,imposedby[Command
Staff].Itmaybeimposedinconjunctionwithotherpunishment,suchasaBadConduct
DischargeorDishonorableDischarge.DisciplinaryProceduresareoutlinedinSection8ofthis
handbook.

Example:Anindividualisdiscoveredtobeheadhuntingmembersandattemptingtocreateanew
unitusing32ndRangerBattalionpersonnel.TheindividualmaybesubjecttodemotiontoPrivate
andDishonorablyDischargedfromtheunit.

6.3NonPunitiveDemotions
Anonpunitivedemotionisademotionthatisvoluntaryorduetoaformerbilletbeingabsolved.
AnexampleofanonpunitivedemotionwouldbeapreviouslyHonorablyDischargedSergeant
(TeamLeader)reenlistingtothe32ndRangerBattalion.EventhoughthereisaTeamLeader
billetopen,thereenlistingmemberwouldbenonpunitivelydemotedtotherankofSpecialist.

Section7
DischargePolicy

7.1Purpose
AtimemaycomewherelifeinterfereswithArmaandthe32ndRangerBattalion,amemberloses
interestintheunit,orjustwishesforchange.Whileitisunfortunatetoseemembersleavethe
unit,werealizethatitispartofhowthingswork.Below,the32ndRangerBattalionhasdeviseda
guidelinefordischargesfromtheunit.Thetypeofdischargeamembermayreceivevariesupon
commitment,dedication,andtheimpactthememberhashadonourcommunity.

7.2HowtoRequestDischarge
Torequestadischargefromthe32ndRangerBattalion,enterPERSCOMandunderUnitMember
LinksselectRequestDischarge.

7.3TypesofDischarge
7.2.1HonorableDischargewithRetirement
AnHonorableDischargewithRetirementisatwopartdischarge.First,themembermust
meettherequirementslistedasanHonorableDischarge.Inaddition,thoseappointedto
CommandStaffwillcometogetheranddecideifthememberbeingdischargedhasmade
significantcontributionstothe32ndRangerMilitarySimulationBattalioninawaythat
theyshouldbeenshrinedinaHallofFame.

7.3.2HonorableDischarge
AnHonorableDischargeisgiventomembersofthe32ndRangerBattalionwhohave:(1)
AttainedtherankofatleastPrivateFirstClass,WarrantOfficer1,orSecondLieutenant,
(2)Werevaluablecontributorstothe32ndRangerBattalion,and(3)Didnotleaveon
badtermswiththeunit.Amembermustrequestthistypeofdischargeandwillnotbe
givenforinactivity.MemberswhoreceiveanHonorableDischargeareeligibletoreenlist
totheunitandcanreceivearankoneortwopaygradeslowerthantherankthey
dischargedas,pendingabilletisavailable.

7.3.3GeneralDischarge
AGeneralDischargewillnormallybegivenouttoamemberwhobecomesinactiveand
doesnotofficiallyfileforadischargeordonotmeettherequirementsforanHonorable
Discharge,suchasbecominginactivewiththe32ndRangerBattalionandplayingwith
anotherunit.Itisgiventoamembersofthe32ndRangerBattalionwhohave:(1)
AttainedtherankofatleastPrivateSecondClass,WarrantOfficerCadet,orSecond
Lieutenant,(2)Didnotleaveonbadtermswiththeunit.MembersgivenaGeneral
Dischargewillbeeligibletoreenlisttotheunitandcanreceivearankoneortwopay
gradeslowerthantheranktheydischargedas,pendingabilletisavailable.Theexception
beingaDishonorablyDischargedmemberthatisgrantedreenlistment.Theymustbe
resettoanewrecruitandhaveallawardsandschoolsstrippedfromtheirrecord.

ThecurrentAWOL/Inactiveguidelineisbrokenintothreesteps.AWOL,Inactive,
Discharge.AmemberbecomesAbsentWithoutLeave(AWOL)whentheymissaunit
checkinwithoutbeinggrantedLeave.Ifthatsamemembermissesthefollowingcheck
inwhilebeingmarkedAWOL,theywillbemarkedInactive.Shouldamembermiss
thenextcheckin,theywillbegivenaGeneralDischarge.Undermostcircumstances,this
isa21dayprocess,eachofwhichtaking7days.IfaGeneralDischargeisgiventoa
memberforinactivity,thedischargereportshouldnotetheinactivity.

7.3.4EntryLevelSeparation
AnEntryLevelSeparationisadischargegiventomembersofthe32ndRangerBattalion
whoarerankedasaRecruitorPrivatewho,byanymeans,failedtocompleterequired
trainingtoreachadeployablerank.Thisisnormallygiventomemberswhocompletethe
recruitingprocessandloseinterestintheunitbeforereachingtherankofPV2,WOC,or
2LT.ThistypeofdischargeiseligibleforreenlistmentpendingapprovalbyCommand
Staff.Shouldthememberenlistagain,theywillberesettoRecruitandorderedtostart
trainingfromDay0.

7.3.5BadConductDischarge
ABadConductDischargeistobegivenouttomembersofthe32ndRangerBattalion
whoaredischargedduetodisciplinaryreasons.MembersreceivingaBadConduct
DischargemayalsobebannedfromTeamSpeak,gameservers,forums,andany
additionaloutletsthatthe32ndRangerBattalionholdscontrolof.Reenlistmentwillbe
doneonacasebycasebasisdeterminedbyCommandStaff.Reenlistmentwaiversdonot
havetobeunanimous.

7.3.6DishonorableDischarge
ADishonorableDischargeisgiventomembersofthe32ndRangerBattalionwhohave
causedgreatharmtotheoverallmissionoftheunit.Thisincludes,butisnotlimitedto:
Headhuntingmembers,dualclanning,blatantracism,cyberbullying,andextremerule
violations.MemberswhoreceiveaDishonorableDischargewillbebannedfrom
TeamSpeak,gameservers,forums,andanyadditionaloutletsthatthe32ndRanger
Battalionholdscontrolof.Memberswillalsobepermanentlybarredfromreenlistment
unlessthereisaunanimousdecisionbycommandstafftoallowreenlistment.

7.4RequestChangeofDischargeStatus
IfadischargedmemberbelievesCommandStaffshouldreevaluatethedischargegivento
them,thedischargedmembershouldrequestahearingbyCommandStaff.Thishearing
willtakeplaceinalockedCommandStaffBoardRoomintheTeamSpeakserver.The
onlypersonnelpermittedinthechannelaremembersofcommandstaff,thedischarged
member,andcharacterwitnesses.Thenumberofcharacterwitnessesisnottoexceedone
atanygiventime,however,theremaybemorethanonecharacterwitnessduringthe
review.


Atmost,adischargedmembermayreceiveadischargetwogradesabovetheircurrently
fileddischarge.TheexceptionbeinggiventoDishonorablyDischargedmembers.They
mayreceiveaGeneralDischargeifCommandStaffcomestoaunanimousdecisionto
grantaGeneralDischarge.ThispolicyisinplaceprimarilytoallowDishonorably
Dischargedmemberstheopportunitytoreenlistasarecruit.

StaffShops

8.1StaffShopRoster
The32ndRangerBattalionisonlyasstrongasitsmemberswantittobe.Asawaytoincrease
thevoiceofthelowerrankedmembers,the32ndRangerBattalionhasopenedvariousStaff
Shopstothem.RangingfromrecruitingtoITassistance,eachmemberoftheunitcangiveback
tomaketheunitstronger.

8.2S1(Personnel)
S1isresponsiblefortheoverallmanpowerandunitpersonnel.S1issplitintotwoparts
Recruitingandadministration.Therecruitingsectionistaskedwithactivelyseekingnewrecruits
intheArmacommunityandmonitoringapplicationswhiletheadministrationsectionmanages
rosters,editsindividualsuniforms,andtracksindividual'saccomplishmentsandawards.

8.2S2(IntelligenceandUnitRelations)
S2isgiventhejobtomaintainrelationswithotherunitsthroughouttheArma3community.
Theykeepintouchwithotherunitsandallowforthe32ndRangerBattaliontoconductwell
informedinterviewswhenselectingpotentialrecruits.

8.3S3(Operations)
HandinhandwithS5,Planning/MissionMaking,S3maintainsoperationalcontrolofgame
serversandmissionscripting.Theiroveralljobistodothebehindthescenestaskstokeep
serversrunningsmoothly.

8.4S4(Photography,Media,Editing)
ThoseappointedtoS4arecombatphotographersandvideographers.Theyrecordvarious
situationsthattakeplaceonserversandeditrecordedfootageduringoperations.Theymayalso
editmanyothermediasourcessuchasTeamSpeakbanners,forumimages,andunitpatchesand
awards.

8.5S5(Planning/MissionMaking)
S5isgiventheresponsibilityofcreatingmissionsforthe32ndRangerBattalion.This
departmenthandlesmissionfilesandgives32ndRangerBattalionmembersthebestexperience
ingamethattheypossiblycan.ThoseinthisshopshouldhavebasicknowledgeofSQFlanguage.

8.6S6(Signal,IT)
Giventhejoboffixingtechnicalissueswithmembershardwareandsoftware,membersofS6
areexpertsintheuseofArma3Sync,TaskForceArrowheadRadio,andothermodsthatareused
onourserver.

8.7S7(Training)

TheS7departmentisgiventhetaskoftrainingnewrecruitsthroughBasicCombatTrainingand
administeringdifferenttrainingsto32ndRangerBattalionpersonnel.ManyofthoseinS7are
currentorformermilitarymembersorhaveextensiveknowledgewhenitcomestomilitary
techniques.

Section10
CodeofConduct

9.1Purpose
TheCodeofConductoutlinedisprescribedtoensurefairtreatmenttomembersaswellaslimit
authoritygiventoCommandStaff.Moreso,thissectioniswrittentoestablishabasicsetofrules
thatgovernallmembersofthe32ndRangerBattalionanditsguests.

9.2Enforcement
Whenamemberorguestareaccusedofbreakingaruleoutlinedin
9.4
,theCompanyFirst
Sergeantwillbeginaninvestigation.TheFirstSergeantmayconsultwithothermembers
regardingcorrectiveaction,however,thecorrectiveactionprescribedisultimatelyhistomake.

9.3Penalties
Ifitisfoundthatamemberhasviolatedaruleoutlinedin
9.4
,theCompanyFirstSergeantwill
assesstheproperpenalty.Thatpenaltymustbereasonable.Example:Itisnotreasonabletobana
firsttimeoffendingmemberforlifeforspeakingwithoutpermissionwhereasitmaybe
reasonabletobanamemberwhoisheadhuntingandattemptingtorecruitothermembersfor
anotherunit.

PenaltiestheFirstSergeantmayassessrangefromofficialcounselingsorrankreductionthrough
permanentlifelongbansfromfromforums,servers,andTeamSpeak.Similarviolationsshould
meetsimilarpenaltiesthroughthecourseoftime.Example:Amemberspeaksoutofturnand
receivesanofficialcounseling.Itwouldnotbereasonabletoissuea2weeksuspensiontoa
memberwhoalsospeaksoutofturn.

Considerationstotakeintoaccountwhenselectingapenaltyinclude,butarenotlimitedto:Time
inservice,firsttimeoffender,repeatoffender,excessiverepeatoffender,intentwhenviolating
rules,numberofvictimswhileviolatingrules,oneoffender,groupoffenders,rank,and
responsibilities.

Thegoalsofapenaltyshouldbetodiscouragemembersfrombreakingrulesratherthan
indefinitelypunishthem.Itisexpectedthatmembersmayactoutoflineoccasionally,however,
thatdoesnotexcusethemfrompenalty.Rulesaremeanttoensureallmembersaretreatedina
respectfulwayandeverybodyenjoystheirexperiencewiththe32ndRangerBattalion.

9.4Rules
Belowisalistofrulesthatgovernthe32ndRangerBattalion.Itisnottobeusedasanall
inclusiveset.However,ifyouremembertofollowtheGoldenRule,treatothershowyouwish
tobetreated,thereshouldntbeanyissue.

Rulesarebrokendownintotwocategories:MajorInfractionsandMinorInfractions.

ExamplesofMajorInfractionsare:racism,hatespeech,excessivecyberbullying,headhunting
members(attemptingtogather32ndRangerBattaliontojoinanotherunit),unithopping,dual
clanning,blatantlydisregardingordersgivenbysuperiors,andexcessivedisrespecttowards
anothermemberormembers.

ExamplesofMinorInfractionsare:talkinginformation,talkingwithoutpermission,failureto
abidebyTeamSpeakguidelines,intentionalteamkilling,lackofmaturity,abuseofTeamSpeak
powers,usingequipmentthatisnotissuedtoyou,misuseofradiobots,andrumors/gossip.

Section10
TrainingandSchools

10.1BasicCombatTraining
BasicCombatTraining(BCT)isdesignedtoinstructnewrecruitshowArma3worksaswellas
basicmilitarytactics.BCTshouldinclude,atminimum,riflequalification,basicmovementand
formations,familiarizationwithvariousweaponsystems,combatlifesaver/medical,andproper
useofhandheldradios.

Inordertomoveontoanyotherschools,individualsmustpassBCT.

10.2AirborneSchool
AfterBCT,infantryandmedicalrecruitswillberequiredtoattendAirborneandAirAssault
SchoolstogainranktoPrivateSecondClass.AirborneSchoolwillconsistofthefollowing:
properparachuteprocedures,howtoloadontoanaircraftinchalks,fourjumpsduringtheday,
andonejumpduringthenight.Uponcompletion,graduateswillreceivetheirBasicParachutist
Badge.OncebothAirborneSchoolandAirAssaultSchoolarecomplete,thememberwillbe
awardedtherankofPrivateSecondClass(PV2).

10.3AirAssaultSchool
AfterBCT,infantryandmedicalrecruitswillberequiredtoattendAirborneandAirAssault
SchoolstogainranktoPrivateSecondClass.AirAssaultSchoolisdesignedtoinstructmembers
howtoproperlyboardahelicopter,howtopullsecurityaroundahelicopter,andhowtofastrope
outofahelicopter.Uponcompletion,graduateswillreceivetheirAirAssaultBadge.Onceboth
AirborneSchoolandAirAssaultSchoolarecomplete,thememberwillbeawardedtherankof
PrivateSecondClass(PV2).

10.4CompanyMedicalTeamTraining
MemberswhohaverequestedtobeplacedintheCompanyMedicalTeamwillberequiredto
attendandpassMedicalTeamTraining.Theinstructorforthecoursewillteachtraineesproper
medicalproceduretoaidwoundedmembersofthe32ndRangerBattalion.Thismayinclude
gainingpatientvitals,administeringproperfluids,andCPR.Uponcompletion,graduateswill
receiveplacementintotheCompanyMedicalTeam,theirMOSreassignedto68W(Healthcare
Specialist),andawardedtheMedicalTeamtaginTeamSpeak.

10.5160thSOARTraining
WarrantOfficerCandidatesassignedto160thSOARwillbeinstructedhowtoproperlyoperate
fixedwingandrotarywingsupportaircraft.The160thSOARCommandingOfficerwillevaluate
eachcandidateonapass/failgradescale.Uponcompletion,graduateswillbeawardedtherankof
WarrantOfficer1andclearedtoflyaircraftatanytime.

10.6MortarTraining
Aspecialtyschool,MortarTrainingisdesignedtoinstructtraineeshowtouseamortarsystemon
thebattlefield.Uponcompletion,graduateswillbeeligibletobeplacedinadesignatedMortar
Team.

10.7WarriorLeadershipCourse
WarriorLeadershipCourse(WLC)wascreatedtofurtherteachlowerenlistedpersonnelhowto
effectivelyleadtroopsonthebattlefieldasaTeamLeader.Trainingshouldincludeanindepth
approachtoleadingafireteam.Thismaybecomposedofformations,battledrills,proper
placementofpersonnelandresources,andbasicleadership.Uponcompletion,graduateswillbe
eligibletoattaintherankofCorporalorSergeant.

10.8SquadDesignatedMarksmanshipSchool
TheSquadDesignatedMarksmanshipSchool(SDMS)wascreatedtogiveexpertmarksmenthe
abilitytoaccuratelyengagehostileforcesatrangestoogreatforconventionalsmallarmsfire.It
isthebridgebetweenariflemanandasniper.Thiscourseshouldcontainfamiliarizationwiththe
M14EBRweaponsystem,livefirewiththeweaponsystem,andanunknowndistanceportion.
Uponcompletion,graduateswillbegiventheabilitytochooseaSquadDesignatedMarksman
loadoutduringoperationsaswellasadistinguishmentasaDesignatedMarksman.

TeamspeakGuidelines

11.1TeamspeakIP
The32ndRangerBattalionhasaTeamSpeak3server.Thereisnopassword.ItsIPiscurrently:

11.2Permissions
TeamSpeakpermissionsarehandledbytheS2andS6department.Permissionsincludemove
power,banpower,andoverallthingsmembersmaydowithintheTeamSpeak.

11.3ServerGroups
ServerGroupsareawaythatthe32ndRangerBattalioncankeeptrackofwhoiswhointheunit.
Forexample,somememberswillreceiveanS1servergroup.Thisisgiventomembersofthe
PersonnelStaffShop.ItgrantstheabilitytomoverecruitsthroughouttheTeamSpeak.Other
GroupsincludeCommandStaff,ActiveDuty/Veteran,Instructor,Rank,andunitpatches.

11.4Channels
Roomswheremembersandguestsmaytalkarecalledchannels.The32ndRangerBattalionhas
twoclassificationsforchannels:UnitChannelsandMemberChannels.

11.4.1UnitChannels
UnitChannelsarereservedforofficial32ndRangerBattalionmatters.Thereisageneral
lobbyareaforvariousgames,arecruitmentcenter,anoperationsareaforbothofficial
andunofficialoperations,trainingrooms,administrativeofficesforstaffshops,anda
companyareaforvariousspecificmembers.

11.5Rules
TheTeamSpeakchannelhasaspecificsetofrulesthatgovernitsuse.AlloftherulesinSection
10ofthishandbookapplytothissection.

11.5.1

Names
Activemembersaredirectedtohavetheirnameintheformatsotheirfirstinitialcomes
first,followedbyaperiod,followedbytheirlastname.Thisshouldbethesamewaythat
PERSCOMrecognizesyou.Example:PFCJohnDoewouldhavetheTeamSpeak
identity,J.Doe.ThePFCwillbeattachedasaTeamSpeakgroupsothereisnoneedto
includerankinyouridentity.

Namesthatarenotpermittedinclude,inanylanguage:racism,hatespeech,foul
language,orbeoverallinappropriate.Shouldateamspeakguestviolatethissection,they
maybeaskedtochangetheirname,kicked,orbannedfromtheserver.

11.5.2AvatarsandOtherMedia
AfeatureofTeamSpeakistoaddavatarimagestoyouridentity.Thesealsofollowguidelinesin
section9andmaynotincluderacism,hatespeech,foullanguage,nudity,orbeoverall
inappropriate.Shouldateamspeakguestviolatethissection,theymaybeaskedtochangetheir
name,kicked,orbannedfromtheserver.

11.6Bans
IfamemberorguestarepenalizedwithaTeamSpeakban,theywillnotbepermittedtoreturnto
theTeamSpeakforthedurationoftheban.Bansarenottobeabusedandshouldbesavedfor
officialpurposesonly.Exceptionstothispolicyareoutlinedin11.6.1Appeals.

11.6.1Appeals
IfyoubelieveyouwereunjustlybannedfromTeamSpeak,youwillneedtorequesta
hearingwithCommandStaff.Thiscanbedonebyusingthe32ndRangerBattalion
forums.AmajorityvoteisneededtoallowreadmissiontotheTeamSpeakserverfor
permanentlybannedmembers.

Section12
ForumTicketSystem

12.1Purpose
TheForumTicketSystemisdesignedtoallowformembersandgueststorequesttechnical
support.Itislaidoutsotheproperdepartmentwillbenotifiedwhenyousubmitaticket.
Example:Asamember,youwishtotransferfromthe160thSOARelementtothe32ndRanger
Battaliongroundelement.YouwouldrequestthisintheticketandsubmitittoTransferRequests.
Or,ifyouarehavingproblemswithuniformsorawards,youwoulddescribetheproblemand
submitatickettotheadministrationdepartment.

Section13
PERSCOM

13.1WhatIsPERSCOM?
PERSCOMisanorganizedrostersystemdevelopedbythe3rdInfantryDivisionRealism
GamingUnit.Wehavefoundthatitisbestsuitedforourneedsinthe32ndRangerBattalion.
PERSCOMallowsS1personneltoassignmemberstothecorrectplatoons,squads,andfireteams
whilelayingouttheformatinaneatandorderlyfashion.PERSCOMalsotracksawards,
promotions,demotions,andtransfersbyindividualmembersofthe32ndRangerBattalion.

IfyoufindtheretobeanerrorwithyourindividualPERSCOMfile,pleasesubmitaticket
explainingtheproblemtothePERSCOMdepartment.

13.2RequestingLeaveofAbsence
Whenamemberrealizesthattheywillmiss7daysormoreofunitactivity,theyshouldputina
LeaveofAbsence(LoA).ToputinanLoA,simplyopenPERSCOMandintheUnitMember
LinksselectLeaveofAbsence(s).CompletetheformandhitRequestLeaveofAbsence.

Ifyourexpectedabsenceislessthan7days,simplyputinaTemporaryPassRequest.

13.3CalendarSystem
The32ndRangerBattalionusesacalendarsystemtomarkitsevents.Thiscanbefoundinthe
righthandsideoftheforumspage.Membersareexpectedtochecktheforumsaswellascalendar
daily.ItisalsoexpectedthatmembersRSVPtoapplicableeventsthatareposted.Failuretodoso
mayresultin
DISCIPLINARY
action.

Section14
OperationsGuidelines

14.1SlottingUp
Membersshouldnotslotupintofireteamsuntilorderedtodoso.ThisissoPatrolLeaderscan
ensurefireteamsareputtogetherandarefilled.Failuretoabidebythismayresultindisciplinary
action.

14.2Radios
Radiochannelswillbepredeterminedbythemissionfile.Individualradiochannelscanbefound
intheORBATbypressingM[default]ingame.Pleasedonotaskwhatradiochannels
fireteamsareon,itwillbebriefedbeforethemissionbegins.

Section15
MilitaryOccupationalSpecialties

15.1WhatisanMOS?
Simplyput,anMOSisajobthatyouselectuponjoiningtheunit.Youmayalsoputinarequest
totransferfromoneMOStoanotherbysubmittingaticketontheforums.Pendingavailabilities,
youmayormaynotbeapprovedfortransfer.

15.2MOSsOffered.
The32ndRangerBattalioncurrentlyoffersthreedifferentMOSs:Infantry,Healthcare
Specialist,andAviationOfficer.

15.2.1(11B)Infantryman
TheinfantryisthemainlandcombatforceandbackboneoftheArmy.Whenyouthinkof
whattheArmydoes,morethanlikely,youthinkoftheInfantryman.Theyareresponsible
forengaginganddestroyingenemyforceswithequipmentrangingfromriflesto
explosivessuchasmortarsandrecoillessrifles.

15.2.2(68W)HealthcareSpecialist
WhilethetitleisofficiallyHealthcareSpecialist,thosewhoenlistinthe32ndRanger
Battalionasa68WwillbeassignedtotheCompanyMedicalTeamasaCombatMedic.
TheyarespeciallytrainedtoadministeradvancedmedicalaidtoRangersinjuredin
combat.

15.2.3(153A)RotaryWingAviator[Pilot]
ThosewhoareacceptedintotheAviationprogramwillfirstbeassignedasaWarrant
OfficerCandidate.Theirdutiesinclude:armedreconnaissance,attack,utility,orcargo
flights,aerialsupportofgroundunits,andpersonneltransport.Thoseassigned153Awill
begivenclearancetoflybothfixedwingandrotarywingaircraftpendingtrainingbythe
160thSOARCommandingOfficer.
