1.Moment
Moment is the result of the amount of force
multiplied by the distance from the fulcrum.
(moment) = (amount of force) x (distance)
@ For example, when cighteni
nut with a wrench, if you hold the
wrench at point A. it feels heavy,
while if you hold it at point B, it
feels light. Using the same
amount of force, che strength with
whieh the nut is tightened changes
with the distance from the
fulcrum,
Units of Moment.
Because moment is the result of
force (kg) multiplied by distance
(m), the unit is the “kg m” or the
Kilogram - meter.
Also, depending on the case,
other units such as “tm” (ton -
meter) and “kg cm” (kilogram -
Important point ! centimeter) are usedRome MEAT eH?

2. Balance of Moment
Just like “force”, when moment is in 2 state of
balance, the objects are at rest.
@ For example, 2 600 kg elephant
sits om the night side ofa see-saw 2
meters from the fulerum point,
and 2 400 kg bear sits on the left
side 3 meters from the falerum
point.
‘The clephant’s moment
= ky x2m
= 1200 kg em
The bear's moment
400 ky x 3m
1200
When che moments around the
fulerum point are equal like this.
both objects are in a state of
balance,
