1. INTRODUCTION
This assignment is a partial fulfillment of requirement leading to Bachelor for Year 2 and
3 students taking the subject in Entrepreneurship. The assignment is divided into 2 parts
which are individual assignment (reflective industrial writing) and group assignment
(business plan).
2. OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this assignment are to assess students ability to:
1. Understand the concepts or theories learned in the subject or course.
2. Expose to the world of business theoretically and practically.
3. Understand own strengths and weaknesses.
4. Identify long term and short term goals to be achieved in one life.
5. Enhance your knowledge by gathering related materials, determine the suitability of
materials used and reading extra reference books and articles.
6. Present a written assignment in a proper, clear, interesting and logical manner.
3. DELIVERY METHOD
These assignments require students to submit a well-written and well formatted report (in
Word format).
4. LATE SUBMISSION
All assignments should be submitted by the stated due date unless as revised and
approved by the lecturer. Marks will be deducted for late submissions of the written paper at
5% per working day late, unless valid reasons or application for extension and approval is
given before the due date of the assignment. Therefore the responsibility is upon you to
ensure that an assignment is substantially prepared prior to the submission date. Late
submissions for more than 5 working days (from due date) will not be accepted.
As a general rule, no extension of time will be granted. The assignments and its due
dates are normally given in advance to students so that they will be able to organize their
study program.
5. ASSIGNMENT POLICY
All works presented for assessment are expected to be the students own and original
work. The lecturer expects of all students, honest and meticulous acknowledgement of all
sources of materials used.

6. PLAGIARISM
All work submitted must be original and not previously submitted for assessment at
this University College or elsewhere. All information from other sources must be duly
acknowledged. In particular, you need to cite (by using Harvard Referencing System)
sources discovered on the Internet or any other publications. Plagiarism is a breach of the
University College regulations and may result in a mark of zero being given for the work
containing plagiarism.
Plagiarism includes copying from another source without
acknowledging that source, whether it can be the work of another student, an author or of
your own assignment for another course. Students found to have plagiarised other works will
record a failure in the subject.
Given the explosion of electronic publications in recent years, students need to be
careful that their assignments do not become an exercise in cutting and pasting existing
abstracts or portions of World Wide Web pages. Rarely will such an approach produce
acceptable results.
The student is required to submit the report to SafeAssign to check for plagiarism. If
the plagiarised percentage is more than the acceptable percentage, the student has to modify
the assignment report until it is below the acceptable percentage before submission otherwise
it will be considered as a plagiarised material
Remember to attached along the report generated by SafeAssign software as a proof
of your originality work.

7. INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT (REFLECTIVE INDUSTRIAL WRITING)


Mark: 20%
Dateline: Week 13
Acceptable plagiarised percentage: Below 8%
An industrial forum will be arranged by the respective course coordinator. A guest speaker
will be invited to share their experience as an entrepreneur or any entrepreneurship related
topics. Attendance for the industrial forum is COMPULSORY.
Upon completion of the industrial forum, students are required to write a reflective industrial
report that comprising of the following areas:
1. Introduction
2. Personal reflection
3. Conclusion
Format:
Font size 12, Times New Roman, 1.5 Line Spacing and with justified alignment.
This assignment should contain about 1000 words.
References should be the latest within 10 years (2007 2016)

8. GROUP ASSIGNMENT
Mark: 50%
Dateline: Week 10
Accepted plagiarised percentage: 10%
Select a type of business that your group is interested in and report to your tutor. No TWO
(2) groups are allowed to choose the same business. Privilege will be given to the first group
that report to the tutor. Example of the industries that can be chosen:
Food and beverage
Education
Computer/IT
Tourism
Clothing/Apparel
Others (subject to approval by lecturer or tutor)
Written Assignment criteria:
Based on the selected industry, students are required to write a business plan for a NEW
business.
Students are required to form groups consisting of 4 5 members.
Students are required to register their selected industry with their respective tutors by the
2nd tutorial class (week 3).
Next, prepare a business plan that comprising the following areas for your report:
1. Executive summary
2. Company description
3. Industry analysis
4. Market analysis
5. Marketing plan
6. Financing projection
Format of documentation includes:
Report length should be between 20 30 pages excluding reference lists, appendices and
table of contents.
Font size 12, Times New Roman, 1.5 Line Spacing and with justified alignment.
The assignment should be bind.
References should be the latest within 10 years (2007 2016)

9. PRESENTATION
Mark: 30%
Dateline: Week 13 and 14 (depend on the tutor arrangement)
Attire: Formal
The students are required to present their findings for the group assignment. All the members
in the group MUST participate in presenting their own part in the group work to prove that
they have contributed their effort in completing the task. Attached along the presentation
assessment criteria form (refer attachment 7) in the group written report. The number of
form(s) is equivalent to the number of member(s) in the respective group.
