1). The following recommendations should be considered as minimum guidelines. Dariens harbors
havevaryinglevelsofexposuretowindandwaves,dependinguponthelocationofeachmooring.
Thoseboatownerswithmooringsinexposedlocationsmaywanttoconsiderincreasingthesizeof
theirmooringanchorandothermooringcomponents.
2). Minimum Weightfor PyramidTypeAnchors:Pyramidtypeanchorsinsoundconditionaretobe
used for any mooring in the waters or harbors of Darien. The minimum weight of these anchors
shallbedeterminedbythesizeandtypeofboatasfollows:

10). InspectionFrequency:

Consistent with the Harbor Masters requirements, all

mooring systems shall be fully inspected no less frequently
thanonceeverythreeyears.

Thesestandardsaremeantasaguidetoboat/vesselownersinthepropermooringprocedures.
Eachmooringspaceuserisfullyresponsibleforhisorherownmooringequipmentandthe
maintenanceofthisequipmentandtackle.Furthermore,nostandardcaninsuretotal
protectionunderalladverseconditions.Thesestandardsareintendedasminimumstandards
andasreasonableguidestoassisttheboat/vesselowners.

Allmooringspaceusersagreethattheyhavebeenpresentedwithandwillcomplywithall
HarborManagerrequirementswithinthewatersandharborsofDarien,CTandthatthe
mooringsiteshallbeusedonlyforthevesseldesignatedinthisapplication.

Mooringspaceusersarecompletelyresponsibleforthesafeownership,operationand
maintenanceoftheirownvesselsandanymooringhardwareandtackleandanyconsequential
damagescausedbytheirvesselorthefailureofmooringhardwareortackle.

MooringusersalsoagreetoholdharmlessanddefendanyclaimfordamagesagainsttheTown
ofDariencausedbytheconductoftheirvesselormooringhardwareandtackle.
