Klasifikasi Dental Casting Alloy

(a) Berdasarkan jumlah unsur penyusun:
- Binary system
- Ternary system
- Quartemary system dst
(b) Berdasarkan dental function (the Bureau of Standard):
- Type I alloy (soft):
untuk inlai kecil dengan tekanan kecil.
- Type II alloy (medium):
untuk gigi dengan mendapat tekanan moderat misalnya untuk % crown,
abutment, pontic, full crown.
- Type III alloy (hard):
untuk gigi yang mendapat teanan okiusal tinggi termasuk % crown, full
crown, cast backing, abutment, pontic, denture base, fixed partia dentre
(kecil), inlay.
- Type IV alloy (extra hard):
untuk inlay, denture bar, clasp, full crown, fixed partial denture, partial
denture frame work.
- Metal ceramic alloy (hard & extra hard):
coping, veneer dental porcelain, crown (dinding tipis).
- Removable partial denture alloy:
RPD frame work ,iatnya ringan tetapi kuat. Alloi ini digunakan sebagai
pengganti Type IV alloy.

Klasifikasi logam berdasarkan tingkat kekerasan

1. Tipe I (lunak) angka kekerasan Vickers (VHN) 50-90
2. Tipe II (sedang) angka kekerasan Vickers (VHN) 90-120
3. Tipe II (keras) angka kekerasan Vickers (VHN) 120-150
4. Tipe IV (ekstra keras) angka kekerasan Vickers (VHN) >150

Klasifikasi alloy berdasarkan ADA

1. High noble Alloy (HN) atau logam sangat mulia dg komposisi
logam mulia >_ 60% dan kandungan emas >_40%
Au Pt alloy: Untuk Full Casting, Porcelain Fuse to Metal
Au Cu Ag alloy : Full casting
2. Noble alloy (N) atau logam mulia dengan komposisi logam mulia
>_ 25%
Ag Au Cu alloy : Full Casting
Pd Cu alloy : full casting, PFM
Ag Pd alloy : full casting, PFM

3. Redominantly base metal Alloy atau alloy berbahan utama logam

dasar dengan kandungan logam mulia < 25%
Ni based alloy : full casting, PFM, wrought, partial denture
Co based alloy : sda
Ti based alloy : sda + implant
Spesifikasi terbaru juga mengikut sertakan non-noble alloy sama
seperti alloy yang tidak mengandung emas tapi memiliki
kandungan palladium yang tinggi. Berdasarkan klasifikasi terbaru
maka semua tipe alloy pada klasifikasi lama merupakan high noble
alloy.
