This is an individual coursework weighted at 60% for the Managing People and
Performance Module.
LEARNING OUTCOME
1. Demonstrate a systematic understanding and critical evaluation of key aspects of
employee reward strategy used in managing the performance of the organisation.
2. Demonstrate the ability to compare and appraise different business theories and
perspectives of employee reward and performance.
3. Analyse, critically evaluate and communicate information & concepts of varying
degrees of complexity, as applied to managing reward and employee appraisal.
INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT (100%)
The report should not exceed 2,000 words. You should state the number of words used on
the cover of the assignment.

You may include diagrams or figures, reference and

bibliography lists and any appendices without word penalty. The standard sliding scale
of penalties for excess length will be imposed. The penalties will be as follows:

21-30% excess
31-40% excess

ASSESSMENT QUESTION
Performance is the record of outcomes produced on a specified job function or activity
during a specified time period. In terms of performance management, an organisations
HR department could look for performance appraisal system to be in place. Using an
organisation of your interest, critically evaluate its performance appraisal system and
how feedback from performance appraisal is used for rewarding employees at the
organisation chosen.
