calendar days.

Selected candidate identified as


requiring a Tier 2 visa.

Gather documents listed at back


of form

Send Arrival Form and


supporting documents to SIT
within five working days.

Keep regular sick and annual


leave absence record

Print and retain copies of all


adverts in accordance with HO
criteria..

Complete COS application form

Migrant now able to commence


employment.

Check any changes to job with


SIT before the change is agreed.

Retain applications for all shortlisted candidates.

Place all documents in one


folder and password protect the
folder using 7Zip

Add new starter (inc. right to


work info) into CORE.

Retain notes from the final


interviews.

Email folder containing


documents and application to
SIT. Mark email as confidential

Report any changes to job and


personel details to SIT using
Changes/leaver form within five
working days

SIT checks application and liaises


with dept/college over queries.
COS requested from HO (for
new Tier 2 overseas applicants
only}.
COS details input onto HO
Sponsor Management System
COS generated and emailed to
migrant (cc
department/college).
Guidance on how to complete
the visa application sent to
migrant.

Tier 2 sponsorship process

SIT creates electronic record for


migrant which contains all data
required by HO.
Notify SIT immediately if
migrant cannot start on start
date specified on COS using
Changes.leaver form,
SIT notifies HO of change in start
date and updates database.

MIgrant sends application and


supporting documents to the SIT
(in country only).Overseas
applicants apply independantly
with guidance from SIT
SIT liaises with migrant over any
queries/ommisons.
SIT submits visa application to
HO (for in-country applicants
only)
SIT returns visa, passport and
supporting documents to
department/ college (in country
applicants only).

Retain copies of RTW


documents and all other
documents for duration of
employment and after
employment ends (until SIT
advises that they may be
destroyed).

Overseas applicants advise


department/college and SIT of
application outcome.

Update any changes to personal


and job details in CORE.
SIT report necessary changes to
HO within a further five working
days.
Repeat RTW check before
existing visa expires. if contract
is to be extended

SIT records visa information in


database.

Record repeat RTW check in


CORE and send copy of repeat
check to SIT

SIT remind department/college


of visa expiry approx. 3 months
before date of expiry.
Department /college notifies SIT
of decision to extend contract
and visa or not.
If extending contract beyond
expiry date of existing visa
