SYNOPSIS
To increase the productivity and to overcome skilled labour shortage, most
of the manufacturing industries are going for automation. The main arm for us to
select the project work is to acquire practical knowledge in the field of fabrication..
We selected FABRICATION OF AUTOMATIC TWO AXES
DRILLING MACHINE as our project work and we used principles of
Mechatronics in developing this project work, the sliding mechanism is achieved
by the leadscrew and nut mechanism which is driven by a 24VDC motor.
This project consists of two sets of leadscrew and nut for moving the object
longititutinally and feeding the drill spindle unit . Both the slides are driven by DC
motors controlled through the microcontroller unit.
Here the drill spindle moved downward to make drill in the job and after the
drilling operation, the spindle moved back to home position and the slide with the
job moved for next drilling operation.
