LOVE IS GOD.

One can see the god in the smile of poor is one of the famous quote of Tolstoy which means, when we help poor
people with love and affection, it will definitely fill their heart and their gratitude flows in their face as beautiful
smile. In that smile, one can see god. In this aspect, the quote of Leo Tolstoy gives out the truth of love to worldly
people.
All religion believes in one thing; love is god. Even our Thirukural has its one separate topic named anbudaimai
which depicts the importance of love. It is the gratefulness and pride of our ancestors, who were the first, told the
importance of love to world.
Thirumoolar says the significance of love as follows:

anbu sivam irandenpar arivilaar

anpae sivamaavathoru marikilaar.
- ( Thirumanthiram)
According to Thirumoolar, those who differentiate the love and god are brainless people; love and the blissful state
of god are inseparable and he firmly says love is god.
Many people believe that, one can get the gracious blessing of god by tormenting the physical body and through
long term meditation by ignoring the thirst and hunger. However Thirumoolar disagrees with the above practices
and put forth the easy way of acquiring gods affection in his poem as follows:

enbae virakaa iraichchi yaruththittup

ponpoal kanalil poriya varuppinum

anboadu uruki akam kuzhaivaark kanri

enpoal maniyinai eitha onnaathae.
(Thirumanthiram)
One cannot reach the god by tormenting the physical body. However, one can easily reach the blissful state
through the unconditional love.
Further, Thirumoolar noted the type of people on whom god shows his graciousness and love which can be inferred
from following poem quote as follows:

kozhunthu anbu seithu kooravallaarkku

makizhnthu anbu seyyum arul saathu aakumae
- ( Thirumanthiram)
Thirumoolar says that, people who show their care and affection to all type and form of living organism can get
the love of god. Showing your care and love on another life is the easy way of getting gods grace and blessings.

Nowadays, whole world rejoice the quote of Tolstoy. However, our ancestors told this truth several decades ago,
even before Tolstoy. But the fact is how many of us remind their words or walk along the path of their words!? I
will leave this part to readers decision itself.
Let us see another new topic in the upcoming post.

Ashram and its types - 01

Author: / Labels: Agathiyar, Ashrams
Apart from the Siththar's tradition, the guru-sishya tradition has its long term journey even in Indian vedic culture.
Till last century this guru-sishya practice did not lose its glory however, it becomes a completely extinct art of
practice nowadays. Alas! Future generation will not even get a hint about this guru-sishya way of learning arts.
We always imagined ashram as small kudil (home built using various types of leafs like palm, coconut etc,)
enclosed by beautiful garden, which lies in the outskirt of village or people community. There stays a guru and the
pupils of that guru who came to learn from guru. Almost, all our imaginations depict the ashram as said above.
Is that a ashram? How it functioned? Are there any types and forms among ashrams? For these above series of
question, we found answers from Agathiyars book titled Agathiyar Paripooranam. My ultimate aim is to share
that information in this series.
Agathiyar says, there are 5 types of ashrams which are as follows:
Brahmacharya ashram
Grihastha ashram
Sannyasa ashram
Vanaprastha ashram
Athivarna ashram
These 5 types refer to five hierarchical level of ashrams. On completing one level, one can go to upper level and so
on. It is more like nowadays, primary, high school, higher secondary, undergraduate and post graduate education
level.
Since, Agathiyar describes the pupil in those levels of ashrams as follows:

paarpriamach chaariyadaa pirmaavaakum

pathivaana kirakasthan vishnuvaakum

naerkuruvaanj sanyaasam ruththiranaakum

nilaiyaanap pirashthanadaa mayaesanaakum

seerperukum aathirvarnaach siramamainthaa

sivasivaa sathasivnith thelinthukollu

aararivaa ranjunilai virathampetru

amarnthiruppaan koadiyil oruvanraanae.

Those whose lives in brahmacharya ashram are correlated to Lord Brahma, pupils of grihastha are correlated to
Lord Vishnu, pupils in sannyasa ashram are correlated to Lord Rudra, pupils of vanaprastha ashram are correlated
to Lord Maheshwara and pupils of athivarna ashram are correlated to Lord Sadasiva. However, who completed all
the above said level is in the ratio of one among the crore.
Amazing right! How will be the pupil of those ashrams? What are all their functions? What might be their aim?
Let us see in the upcoming post.
Stay tuned!!

How to disappear mystically?

Author: / Labels: Agathiyar, Theurgy
We often tell about a person as he disappeared mystically!! if we can not find him over time. Otherwise we heard
the myth of suddenly disappeared in one place and appeared somewhere in another place in fraction of second in
many instances of our historical, magical stories.
Is it possible in real life?
Agathiyar says it as, absolutely possible event!! Many related notes are noted in book titled agathiyar
paripooranam. He describes the preparation process of one anjanai mai, which is used in process of self
disappearance of ones structure.
How to prepare this mai?

siththiyulla anjananthaa nonrukaelu

Agathiyar asked to, burn out the pichchu*of lemur, karukkuruvi (bird) and kaamaroopi. Then take the above
burned part in egg shell and fry it till it melts and become mai*. Now place this mai in kalvam* along with
paerandath thailam and grind it well.
After grinding that mixture, collect it in a vessel made up of elephant tusk. While collecting, chant the mantra om
kili rahng rahng continuously.
Now, mai has to be applied as thilakam* in forehead on the time when one want to disappear his own structure.
Agathiyar says, now no one in the world can see him. Now, one must go to his favourite place and can perform
yoga and meditation to find oneself. However, on wiping out the thilakam, his structure is now visible to others.
This post is just intended for sharing the Siththars information and possibility of the above said information needs
further extendable research.
*Pichchu It is one of the organs in the animal. It can be seen in any animal which have liver. It can be seen next
to liver in blackish green colour. It will be in size of 1 or 2 inch. It is also called as piththu. It has to be used
carefully without shaken.
*Mai Black pigment
*Kalvam It is kaind of roller, which was made out of stone, used by Siththars for grinding
*Thilakam a small circular mark on the forehead

Significance of Thiruneeru by Agathiyar!!

Author: / Labels: Agathiyar
*Thiruneeru the sacred ashes (used for Saivites mark)
Thiruneeru is principal symbol of saivite people, for whom Lord Shiva is principal god. Thiruneeru is otherwise
named as iratchai, saaram, vipoothi, pasumam, pasitham. The cow dung of cow whose in taken food should
mostly be cynodon dactylon and make it into small sized rounded pellets. Now, enclose these pellets with rice bran

and put an pudam. Now, all these pellets gets burned out and become white ashes (named as neeru). Agathiyar
says this as process of making pure thiruneeru.
Thiruneeru can be weared as two forms. The one form in which thiruneeru can be wore without gap is called
ulthoolanam. The next form where thiruneeru is taken in index finger, middle finger and ring finger and wore as
three parallel lines is called as thiripundarikam. The philosophical reason behind these forms of wearing
thiruneeru is broad and extensive.
In previous days, thiruneeru is prepared by people according to their need however, the preparation method need
certain restriction which are given out by ancestors. Pure white thiruneeru is generally termed as best quality
thiruneeru. However, adopting the above procedures by the manufacturer is highly impossible or might be low in
recent days making of vipoothi.
In Siththalogy, we got many notes of extensive usage of vipoothi in many procedures viz, chanting, yantra,
medicine etc,. Also, Agathiyar in his book, Agathiyar Paripooranam suggest the way of getting this vipoothi from
other person in his poem as follows;

aamappaa sootchamveku sootchamaana

arumaiyulla manthiraththai thiyaanampanni

oamappaa nallosrka lidamaaimainthaa

uththamanae vipoothiyuda nethuvaanaalum

thaamappaa thanathaaka vaangkumpoathu

sankaiyuda navarkalseyyun thavamellaanthaan

vaamappaal pooranaththin makimaiyaalae

manathaaka moodarveku vanjarkitta

manimanthira poothiyuda nethuvaanaalum

manathaaka avarkalidam vaangkumpoathu

makkalae avarkalkunam varukumpaarae.
On receiving vipoothi from one person, all the value of meditation and the character of giving person will get
transferred to receiving person. Hence, one should keep this in mind and must receive vipoothi from ones hand
who is good in character otherwise, getting vipoothi from bad person will leads to wrong happenings.
On getting vippothi from good person, there is a trick to get full value which was given by Agathiyar.

What is that trick?

saatriyathoa rupathaesam nanraaikkaelu

thaetriyathoar siththarsiva yogithaanum

Agathiyar says, on receiving vipoothi from the hand of Siththars and Siva Yogiss, gnanis, chant the following
mantra room Reem simraa in mind silently, through which one will all the good values of meditation and good
characters of giver.

Keezhkkaai Nelli or Keezhaa Nelli - Phyllanthus Niruri
Siththars gave us many kaya kalpas in order to keep our body free from ageing, hunger and disease which,
ultimately make a person to live longer and younger. Generally, it is two types viz, medicinal kaya kalpa and yoga
kaya kalpa. In that series, we have already discussed lots and lots of medicinal kaya kalpa, which is available in
this link. Likewise, let us see another easy kaya kalpa in this post.
Karuvoorar, in his Vaathakaaviyam book, gave us the information concerning keezhkkai nelli kalpa in his poem as

Women... Baldness... Theraiyar's Cure!

Author: / Labels: Remedies for women, Siddha medicine,Theraiyar
Almost all women suffer from the hair fall problem. However, it is unavoidable too. Both physical and mental
health are associated with this hair fall and the main reason is due to pottu and dandruff.
High hair fall can be seen even after the cure of typhoid disease. Hence, it is a habitual among ancestors that the
affected person will shave off the hair fully in head after this disease. Since, only after complete removal of old
hair, new dark hair will start grows else, there can be some baldness as patches in head.
For those women who suffered from this typhoid baldness, Theraiyar gives out a remedy in his book Theeraiyyar
Vaiththiya Kaaviyam as follows:

kaaru naai karichaanpattai yaarpalam

paaru paerurai yaarpalam vellullich

saeru vaaipalanj saerththu narukkiyae

aeru vaai naazhi yellennai yootridae.

oorthidung kathiroan puda maenitham

poarthidu miru poathumoa raezhunaal

saerththidu mayir saera mulaiththidu

maerhtidum pathhtiya millaik kaarthhtidae.
Take 6 palam of naaikarichaan bark, 6 palam of paerurai, 1 palam of garlic and then cut all the above three
ingredients and put it in a vessel containing 1 naazhi seasame oil (1 palam refers to 35 grams.)
Then place this vessel containing oil in sunlight as surya pudam and collect the oil. Now, apply this collected oil on
the bald headed area on morning and evening as daily two times for seven days. You can see the new hair perking
on those places.

Changing the appearance

Author: / Labels: Agathiyar, Theurgy
Over decades, it is believed by people that, Siththars can change take any form of appearance at any second of
time on their desire. However, we have no evidence to support or deny this belief. Basically, Siththars like to be
autonomous which we can infer from their poems. They would like to live away from people community, in order to
avoid the incoming hindrances which might affect their life path. They even like to be away from the people
community who are not in their wavelength.
Even though they live independently in forests and mountains, it is highly unavoidable without hindrance and
dangers from locality and surroundings. In order to face those dangerous situations, Siththars had performed
numerous mystics. Even nowadays too, they were doing certain kind of these mystics to protect themselves from
tribal people, hunters, animals, birds and snake like crawling beings.
In that series, today we are going to see about one of the SIththars mystic trick from the following poem.
What is that trick?
Changing the appearance for the sake of not attracting anyones attention is that magic.
How to perform that?
Agathiyar in his book Agathiyar 12000 explained this as follows:

vanthavakai sollumunnae arinthukondu

manamagiznthu sollukiraen vakaiyaaikkaelu

sonthamudan sakalasiththun thaanaethaanaai

thulangkuthar anthamadaa manthiramoolam

anthamulla moolamadaa sireengammenru

maelappaa yokikandaal yokipoalaam

visaiyaana mirukangal kanduthaanaal

kaalappaa anthantha vakaipoarthoanum

karunaiyudan thavasiruntha karuththaippaarae.
Before starting austerity or sivayogam, sit on a place and relax the mind and body. Now, focus the mind to
oneness and start chanting the mantra Sireeng am by fixing the vision on centre of brow for 108 times. One
should start austerity or sivayokam only after performing the above said mantra.
Those who done this will look like as follows; looks like ordinary man to common people, appears like a women to
women, appears as yogi to yogis , for animals or birds they look like itself. Hence, there will not be any
disturbance from the above said beings hence, one can achieve their goal without any external disturbances.
This is one among the infinite Siththar information available from their songs. Any interested readers or
researchers can try this for proving the authenticity of information.

Neem Kalpa
Author: / Labels: Kaaya Siddhi, Kaya Kalpa
Our human body is an assortment of five basic elements. For the stability and working of our human body, air and
food are highly crucial. Our inner organs and glands segregate the nutrients and minerals from the inhaled food
and give it to body appropriately and finally wastes get excreted out. However, each glands and organs gets
instigated by the taste of our inhaled food. Each and every taste initiates certain organs to function accordingly.
With this wide knowledge, our ancestors include arusuvai (six types of taste) food in their daily life. Unfortunately,
we denied all these food habit practice in this modernized environment. It is really an inappropriate and sad thing
where we failed to respect our ancestors food practice which composed of starting from sweet and ending with
thaambulam* which is composed of bitterness and thuvarpu.
In this series, this post is about bitterness taste (ignored nowadays) kalpa named neem kalpa. Siththar Agathiyar
describes the pride and importance of neem tree as follows;

varisaiyaai samaathiseythaa renthai yayyaa

vaaraathu vishangalellaanj seppi naarae.

Many Siththars noted the procedure of making kaya kapa using this prestigious neem. However, let
us see the simple one given by Siththar Karuvooraar in his book Karuvooraar Vaathakaaviyam as follows.

One should take and eat the very watery and healthy neem leaf on the morning of Pushya or Mrigashirsha
nakshatra of Tamil month Kaarthigai. The leaf should be in inhaled in every morning continuously for 27 days
which makes the person unaffected even from snake poison. Rather, if a snake bites the person, it will die off. In
this regard, if one inhaled neem leaf for a month makes him free from leprosy related 18 diseases and even devils
and demons will not come nearer to him.
Karuvoorar say, on inhaling this neem leaf powder of verukadi* amount along with honey for 6 months
continuously, one should get free from white hair and cataract and can also lives long youthful life. And no more
food restrictions are said for this kaya kapa.
Let us see you with awful topic in upcoming post.

According to the above said song, there lies a Banyan tree at 10 yojana* distance north to Madurai city. There lies
Lord Ganpathys temple, which was not taken cared by anyone and left alone. There comes a great kind hearted
Chola king. On seeing temple, he praised Lord Ganapathy and worshipped his feet.
Later, the same Chola King extended the temple and finished the construction work. Lord Ganapathy himself got
satisfied with Kings worship, charity and kind heartedness. And Lord Ganapathy prayed Lord Shiva and Sakthi. So,
Lord Shiva told Nandhi to give Chidambara Chakra, Vaalai Devis Sakthi and beeja mantra (of Lord Subramaniya,
Lord Sandeshwarar and Lord Vaduka) embedded Meru yantra to Chola King. As per Lord Shivas instruction,
Nandhi gave all the above to Chola King, which was then placed in that Lord Ganeshas temple itself. Then, king
prayed Lord Ganesha to give him ikapara kulikai.

Lord Ganapathy gave ikapara kulikai to Chola king, hence king was named as Ganesha Chola. Theraiyar told that,
poojas were performed to that meru yantra very accurately as per instructions and those who perform meditation
on that temple will accomplish and achieve ashtanga yoga without fail.
Any readers who were aware of that Ganapathy temple which is at 10 yojanai distance from Madurai city can
share their information here.

Women!.. Breasts!... Theraiyar!

Author: / Labels: Remedies for women, Siddha medicine,Theraiyar
On traversing the Siththar songs, some information were highly astonishing and unbelievable. However, suspect is
common thing that arise regarding the question of genuinity. However, the information hidden under these songs
may need further research. In this series, I would like to share information from book named Theraiyar Vaithiya
Saaram.
The breast of women is a lactating and feeding organ which purely symbolizes femininity. The size of breast differs
and varies from person to person due to the hereditary nature and the intake of food. However, left side breast is
little bit bigger in size compared to right one. But, nowadays breast are treated and seen only in the aspect of
ones beauty.
Recent scientific advancement put forth many surgeries and treatments focusing in the aim of marketing on
women like beautifying breasts, decreasing or increasing the size. However, these treatments are highly
challenging in the health aspect of that person and may cause side effects. Hence women must get proper
knowledge in this regard.
Fine. But readers might get doubt or questions might arise in their mind. What is the relation between the above
said information in todays post?
Siththar Theraiyar also put forth certain method for decreasing or increasing the breast size.
Surprising, isnt it?
Let us see the song from book Theraiyar Vaithiya Saaram as follows:

of cow dung on rat parts separately and put it in pudam. Theraiyar says that, now those parts get burnt and
become ashes. Collect it.
Now, on applying the ash of submerged rat part on womens breast, it will shrink further. On contrary, applying the
floated part ash on breast will increase the size. On performing this treatment, one should pray to Lord Shiva
Sakthi without fail.
Our Siththars revealed the remedy several 100 years before, which is highly challenging to very expensive modern
treatment which includes more side effects too. Even though this information requires further scientific research,
the knowledge and power of our ancestors are highly unimaginable and astonishing which are evident from their
poems.
Any interested readers can do further research in this regard.
Let us see new information in the upcoming post.

Food and Body

Author: / Labels: Agathiyar, Siddha medicine
Food, which is as essential as air is needed for the life of all living organisms including human beings. Siththars
also noted the importance of the food in their songs. We can also quote some of our ancestral quotes like food is
medicine, medicine as food as an example.
Agathiyar in his book Vallaathi noted the process of food deposition in human body in his poem as follows:

sonnoamao yinnamoru sootchang kaelu

solluvaen posiththathellaa maaru pangaai

munnaethaan malaththilonru mooththiraththi lonru

moolumae thasaiyilonru vinthi lonru

thannaethaan moolaithani lonru saerum

unthanuda vinthazinthaal yellaam pochu

undathellaam pazhaachu uravum poachu

vinthuthanai izhanthupala pinikkul laaki

melinthukettup poakaamal villu vaene.
Among the composition of food intakes, it gets divided as six forms. One part becomes the waste and gets
excreted. Second part gets urinated out. Third part gets absorbed by muscles. Fourth part gets deposited at
vinthu/naatham. Fifth part gets annihilated to brain and finally sixth part gets deposited into blood.
If the food is taken in the above right composition, then body becomes good and healthy. However, Agathiyar
says, health become degraded if there is any change in the above said process. Irritable bowel syndrome, chronic
dyspepsia, tuberculosis like diseases will come due to above said problem. Due to this, vinthu will also get
destroyed. Hence it also induces other health problems which might ultimately make our food to go waste.
Alright! What we can do, if the food proportion get undivided properly?
Agathiyar gave us a solution for that problem too. One should effectively make poorana vallathi sooranam and
should take it which will clear all the above said problems and body will become healthy. One can get this medicine
from good Siddha doctor.

Horai
Author: / Labels: Astrology, Horai
Our Tamil ancestors divided a day into 60 naazhikai. They consider the starting of day from a sunrise to starting of
another sunrise. The whole day is calculated above as of 24 hours.
In a day, few naazhigais in planets Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn has its own unique
dominance for certain interval. That time is called as horai, i.e., the planets dominant in that unique interval is
termed as that planet horai. Horai can also be called as oarai. The shadow planet Raaghu and Kaethu has no horai
interval. We can say it more precisely as, that time interval corresponds to that particular planet.

Each day starts with particular horai, which is already pre-told and correspondingly that whole days horai is been
calculated.

Further, the whole day horai time interval can be found from following table.
Alright! How to find out sunrise every day?
Those, who can use panchangam, can easily found out the sunrising time for every day precisely. Those, who
found it difficult can use internet/blogs. My other blog Siththa Jothidam (in Tamil) also has the information
regarding sunrise time, thithi, natchathiram (star), raasi, raaghu kaalam, ema kandam, subha neram at the top
right corner of webpage. All these are calculated according to Indian and Sri Lankan time, which might be highly
useful to needed person.

Transferring of ones soul into another body - 03

Author: / Labels: Transferring of ones soul into another body
We have got many Siththars poems which concealed information regarding the process of transferring soul
between bodies. As far as, we consider the process of transferring a soul from live body to lifeless body is called
koodu vittu koodu paaithal in Tamil. Even of getting into new body, the souls has good memory about the past
bodys information and also do the unfulfilled remained duties of newer body.
Korakkar saw a shepherds body near his cave that was dead due to snakes biting. On seeing the sorrows of
shepherds wife, Korakkar himself transferred his own soul into that shepherds body, thereby to eradicate the
sorrow of her. Above information can be seen in the following poem:

kanda thoaridaiyan trannaik kathiththathoar naakantheendi

kondathoa ridaiyan saakak kuriththidun thoazharkandu

vindavan manaiyaalukku vaegamaaich senru sollap

One day, a king came to forest for hunting sees the Korakkars original body and thinks as it as some dead body.
Hence he burnt that body in fire after sometime. Korakkar in shepherds body came into forest in search of his own
body and found it missing. Therefore, he summoned his disciples Nagarjuna and Chanakya and then three of them
visited many forest to see other Siththars. He stayed a year in each Siththars place and had enough kalpa. Then
he lived a long life with that shepherds body.
Sattainathar was born on Kaasi in Saeniyar tribe got enlightenment and wisdom. On having kalpa, he travelled
many places and then reached Sathuragiri, where he found a body of Brahmin. He then transferring his soul in
that Brahmins body had many more kalpas and lived. This can be inferred from the following poem.

petrudan vaazhnthaa ranhthap paerpetra sattainaathar

Konganavar who was born on shepherds tribe naturally lived by eating kalpa and been in good relationship with
Palingar tribes. On that occasion, the leader of Palingar got died. On seeing the peoples sorrow, Siththar
Konganavar himself got into that leaders body. People overwhelmed in joy burnt Konganavars body. After that, he
searched medicinal plants and climbers with help of Palingars then he prepared kalpa and lived a long life.

Similarly, we have much information regarding this soul transferring techniques of Siththars. Each of these poems
has its background which told the humanity of those great people. As of now, research and further clarification can
only be done by me. After collecting the information about this in series, then only it might be a starting point
concerning this topic. Further discussion and research can be done if I get Gurus gracious blessings in future.

Transferring of ones soul into another body - 02

Author: / Labels: Karuvoorar, Thirumoolar, Transferring of ones soul into another body
In previous post, we have seen that the process of leaving the soul from the body and joining in the same body or
joining in the other body involves two steps viz: the state of not leaving the body and transferring of ones soul
into another body. This art is also called as parakaya pravesha. On completing the first step, one can go to next
step.
In deathless death state, all function of body becomes minimized with slow breathing. To achieve this stage,
human body requires vigorous series of practices which is of two types. One type is of achieving kaya siddhi by
eating kaya kalpa and another thing is achieving superior yoga siddhi by yogic practices. On practicing the above
said procedures, one can achieve the deathless death state. However, recent scientific researches completely
abandon or refuse to accept the possibility of above said stage.
Hence, marking the body to necessary stage/position is the first step of this art. Since, the body has to remain
safe and healthy till soul resides back to body. That is why they secretly hidden their body in tree hole, forest,
caves, etc,. If anything happened like destruction occurs to this body, one has to maintain or build up the freshly
achieved body to certain structure by eating kaya kalpa. The information, we can found in Karuvoorars book titled
Karuvorrar Vaatha Kaaviyam.

However, it is also a difficult thing to destroy the body which attains yoga siddhi and kaya siddhi. Siththar
Thirumoolar, leaves his body and reside his soul to Samuthira Rajan, a kings body and he was enjoying the family
practice. On this occasion, one day he told all his secret past story to his wife and also told the location of his
original body. Wife on hearing this, she thought that the original old body might be a hindrance to her happy
family life. So, she asked the King (now Thirumoolar), the way of destroying the original body. King told the secret
due to his affection on her. Queen, then sent her servant to destroy the original body of the Thirumoolar. Using the
medicinal procedures, the servant destroyed that body. The above information is found from Karuvoorars poem as

Hence, we may infer the deathless death state as the art of keeping the body strong and aligning the bodily
functions in series. So that, one can make the function start and stop at desired time. On excelling in this stage,
one can get undestroyable healthy body. However, further research on this regard may reveal the mystical
information about anatomy and the human lifetime pages. Hence, interested person may search on this regard.
We can see the information and background concerning Siththars transferring of ones soul into another body In
the upcoming post.

Transferring of ones soul into another body - 01

Author: / Labels: Transferring of ones soul into another body
Among the 64 arts, transferring of ones soul into another body is the 58th art and 6th among Siththars Astha
Siddhi which is also called as parakaya pravesha. All of us known it as koodu vittu koodu paaithal in simple
Tamil.
In previous post, we have seen about, how the soul resides in the human body. And that soul will leave the body
when the body get weaken and unstable. This proves of soul residing and leaving the body is apart or far away
from human powers. So, attaining the power of leaving the soul from the body and again joining to body at any
time is beyond ones imaginary powers. Scientific growth research says this event as an impossible one.
Our ancestors make this impossible event as a possible one. Not one or two people but majority of Siththars has
wrote notes about this event in their poems. My aim is to bring or collect some information regarding this topic
herein this post.
Siththars divide our human body into two viz: physical body and astral body. On practicing certain procedures, we
can separate one from another body and also make them join together later. This process is of two types: the
state of not leaving the body and another is transferring of ones soul into another body.
We are almost aware of transferring of ones soul into another body. Then, what is the state of not leaving the
body?
Siththars noted this state as deathless death state i.e., we make our body to motionless state like dead and makes
them to live without food and water for few days to many years. This is called the deathless death state and can
be attained by specific practice.
It seems, these practicing procedures were kept secret since I did not get any information so far from my
collection. I might get it in future with Gurus gracious blessings.
The state of not leaving the body is seen naturally among certain animals like mangrove killifish, burrowing frog,
etc,. These animals lay still and motionless for few/many months without food and water. Then at the suitable
time, it becomes normal and live normal life. In this state, animals behave such as they are dead.

Body and Soul

Human body lost its significance when soul got out from the body. We usually destroy that body by burning or
burying underground. So human body has its significance and importance until human soul resides within.
Do you know, when the soul joins the human body?
Which one originates first soul or body?
Agathiyar gave answer for all the above questions in his book "Agathiyar Sayul Vedam".

The prana vaayu (oxygen) gets accumulated with sperm which gets life and cells get grow. On relationship with
women, this sperm gets combined with women's ovum, there by forming a bubble which composed of three
vikarpam viz, vaatham*, bile and phlegm. Then the bubble start growing inside uterus. And after 25 days it looks
like a small new embryo which has no soul resides with.

The small new embryo at first month gets growing which become like a small tumour. On second month, back

gets reside into body.
Hence, on the completion of third month only the soul gets joins body and all other internal organs start growing
with body growth.

All these information belongs to the era of no advanced scientific development. However the information are so
specific and accurate where lies its significance. In none if the way, our Siththar's information are inferior to these

Cracked heel and remedy!

Author: / Labels: Remedies for women, Siddha medicine,Theraiyar
Cracked heel also called cracked feet is a problem among women which cause pain and make them suffer. It is
due to one of the fungal infection which makes the skin hard and rigid rather than soft and supple. The hardness
of cracked feet makes it to look unpleasant. 5 among 10 women were suffering from this problem.
Even though the modern scientific medicine put forth cure for this cracked heel, it is known truth that it is
expensive and also it is not a complete cure. However, Theraiyar gives out two simple remedy for this problem,
which we discussed below.
Theraiyar in his book Theraiyar Vaagadam gives out the following cure for cracked heels.
"
uppu manpuzhung karisiyoo maththavith thinhthupith thayiro

terukkam okka viraippana virpaa thappilap padangappoosa

nilaivir traamarai yaangaalae yaruththup poadum vaeroadae."
The following ingredients viz, saline soil, puzhungal arisi*, datura seed, rock salt should be taken in equal amount
and grind to paste using curd. Mix the yarcum milk to above paste and apply it on the affected cracked feet. This
will cure the fungal infection and make the foot soft. The foot will become soft like lotus.
For same problem, Theraiayar gives another cure too, which is as follows:
"
kaaththuk kanjineerkaalasaa thaththinaduk

kon neriththi rikkuthena

neetrup paalaneyyilkaalida valleerel

saeththuth thaamarai seyyithazhokkumae."
Theraiyar says that, put your cracked foot on filtered hot steaming rice water or apply the paste of steaming rice
grinded using above said filtered water and stone-lime will give the softer foot like lotus flower.
Simple remedy right.!

Vinayakar Chathurthi
Author: / Labels: Agathiyar, Bogar, Nandheesar,Pathirakiriyar, Sivavaakkiyar
In olden days, Hindu religion was divided into six subdivisions which has its own uniqueness. Each unique part has
its own principal deity. The group of people who worshipping each god has its own name viz, group of people who
worshipping Lord Vinayaka are termed as Ganapatya; Lord Shiva are termed as Shaivism; Lord Vishna are termed
as Vaishanavism; Goddess Sakthi are termed as Sakthism (Saaktha); Lord Muruga are termed as Kumara and
Lord Surya (Sun) are termed as Saura. Each group functioned like individual religion.
It seems Adi Shankara was the one who grouped all the above said divisions into single religion, as Hinduism.
Among the above mentioned groups, today is the birthday of Lord Vinayaka, principal God of Ganapatya, which is
the first among the mentioned groups.
We usually worship the sathurthi thithi in the Tamil month Aavani* as the birthday of Lord Vinayaka. Some says
Lord Vinayaka (Elephant faced) symbolize the mystical form of OM.
We can also see that, every Siththar started their books with Vinayakar Kaapu*. In this auspicious day, I would
like to put forth similar information.
Agathiyar on his book, Agathiyar Theetchavithi, starts with Vinayakar salutation as follows:

paathimathi yanintha paraman enakkisaintha

paruthimathi suzhimoonrum nanraaich solvaen

vaethanaivaa raamal muthartheetchai maarkkam

vilambuvaen mahaa Ganapathi kaappaamae
- (Agathiyar)
Bogar in his book Bogar Gnana Soothiram started with Vinayakar Kaapu as:
"
perumaiyulla sathamoolaip paduvatharku

karuvoolan thirumaeni thumbikkaiyan

Ganpathi senthaamaraiththaal kaappathaamae
- (Bogar)
Romarishi starts with Vinayakar salutation in his book Romarishi Vaithiyam 500 as follows:
"
moolamu thalaathaara mudivininra

mooethiyenum Ganesarathu paathangaappu
- (Roma Rishi)
Nandheesar in his book Nandheesar Nikandu 300 also started with Vinayakar Kaapu as,
"
velliyang kiriyaan thantha

vaezhama mukanae yenthan

ullinuk kullaai naanum

urivinuk kuruvaai ninru
- (Nandheesar)
Pathirakiriyar also started the importance of Vinayakar kaapu as follows:
"
ainju karaththaanin adiyinaiyaip poatriseithu
?
nenjir porunthi nilaiperuva thekkaalam?
- (Pathrakiriyar)
Above all of these, Siththar Sivavaakkiyar, who putforth his philosophical thoughts rationally and who highly
opposes the structural worship of Gods also started with Vinayakar salutation in his book Sivavaakkiyam, which is
a considerable note to be pointed out.
"
kariyathoar mukaththaiyutra karpagaththaik kaithozhak

Similar quotes and information can be found in all Siththar notes which focused on Vinayakar salutation. On
remembering, Lord Vinayakar on this auspicious day may bless us with his graciousness.

Tooth powder to protect teeth

In a proverb, pallup poanaal sollu poachchu (words loss with tooth loss), we have to consider this sollu as
health of body. Since, the health of teeth indicates the body health. It should be noted that, dental medicine is one
of fastest growing medical field nowadays.
Even though our recent scientific development has introduced and marketed many products for dental care, it is
highly evident that our ancestors given cure i.e, banyan tree twig and babul tree twig which still did not lose its
glory and significance. Our ancestors have concern about dental care and to protect from dental decay.
In that series, leaving artificial chemical products and by using natural products to protect teeth from decay and
impose its health is possible with Danvanthiris remedy. Danvanthiri in his book Danvanthiri vaithiya kaaviyam
given us a cure for dental care.

Pepper Kalpa
Author: / Labels: Kaaya Siddhi, Kaya Kalpa, Siddha medicine, Theraiyar
I have already discussed various kalpa in my previous posts. However, many people request to share about simple
form of kalpa. Let us see very simple pepper kalpa which is taken from the book Therayyar Kaapiyam in todays
post.

For this kalpa, 192 best quality peppers are needed. First day start with 1 pepper, second day 2 peppers, third day
3 pepper, similarly increase the amount till reaches 7 peppers on seventh day in empty mouth and grind it well
and swallow it completely.
Then decrease the amount on eighth day as 6 peppers and consecutively decrease the number of pepper till it
reaches 1 pepper on thirteenth day and again increase and decrease for each consecutive seven days. Continue
this intake process for 48 days.

On continuous intake of this kalpa for 48 days, it will make the body strength and luminous. Moreover it also
increase the life time.
How to eat this pepper? There lies the secret of this kalpa.
We can eat at morning or evening and one should not eat anything 3 hrs before this pepper intake. And one
should avoid the liquor, non-vegetarian food and copulation.
Easy kalpa process right!!
Another thing is, one can get sweet voice by eating pepper powder mixed with honey.
With a pinch of pepper powder add necessary normal sugar (brown colour) and eat it. This will cure bile related
diseases and will increase your hunger.
Theraiyar says that, by boiling pepper as drinking water, the intake of it will equalize vali, azhal, aiya related
disesses and other severe diseases. Boil the pepper water and allow to shrink it to the ratio of 1:8.

To prevail over the death...

Author: / Labels: Agathiyar, Kaya Kalpa
In this world, the only thing a man cannot win over is death alone. With all these advanced medical research, we
only can postpone death little further but cannot overcome it completely.
However, Agathiyar says it is possible to win over death too and concerning information is in his book Agathiyar
Poorana Sooththiram 216. However the practicability and genuinity of this information need further research and
discussions. Hence, I would like to consider this merely as information sharing.

bunch. On centre of those trees lies tree called jothi virutcham and there lies white saarai paambu*.
On seeing this snake, just hold its centre part. That part comes by hand and other two ends join together and
snake too will not bite. After, the fusion of two end, snake will run away.
Now, Agathiyar advises to eat up the centre holding part of snake. For those who ate this part, their body will not
decay for 20,000 years. During this long life, one should not go behind gold and money rather than that, one
should be focused to find types of kalpa and meditate by focusing the vision on centre of eye brow.

direction and be focused your vision on honey and start chanting the mantra continuously OM REENG ANG VANG
for 1008 times. This procedure should be done by male partner of a couple.
This chanted honey should be inhaled by female partner on end of menstrual period after taking head bath and
then advised to continue their family life. This procedure will make that female partner to get pregnant. And no
more food restrictions for this above said cure. Agathiyar says, those persons who were called impotent also get
pregnant by following this procedure.

Functioning of Noakku Varmam!

Author: / Labels: Agathiyar, Varmam
Sithalogy gives out that, human body is composed of 72,000 interconnected naadis which we have discussed
already in previous posts. Among these, 10 naadis are more important which is also discussed earlier in this
series.
Siththars told that, 10 types of air flows through these 10 naadis which are orderly given as follows:
Prana

Apana

Vyana

Udana

Samaan

Naga

Kurma

Krikara

Devadatta

Dhananjay Air of swelling

Air

Air

of
of
of
of
of
of
of
of
of

soul/life
feces
actions
sound
distribution
conjunctiva
palpebra
sneezing
yawning

This air/vaayu continuously flowing through naadis and the place where these airs met each other is termed as
varma place or varma points. That too, if many vaayu met at a pont, then it become the key varma point.

If damage occurs at these key varma points it may result in death like dangers. Padaatha idaththil pattu pottena
poivittan (death due to injury at crucial point), a common phrase which used colloquially represent the damage
at these key varma point.
None of the guru will teach this key varma point at starting stage. Guru will teach this to student at least after 12
years of practical supervision. During these 12 year gap, student will get a physical fitness, mental fitness and
mental stability, which are all a must thing for learning art of varmam.
This type of key point where more than one vaayu meet at a point is used in noakku varmam. By showing
concentrated and focused vision on these points, we can make certain effect with respect to intensity of focus.
With respect to intensity level of focused vision, one can make person disable or make him unconscious or even
cause him death. In the evolved advanced stage, one can make a person to obey orders according to his own
desires. This is the concept picturized in a Tamil movie, 7aum Arivu.
In the figure shown below, I have red marked the key varma points in face as per the notes of agathiyar. I request
the readers to consider this figure merely just for knowing information and kindly do not attepmt anything else out
of your deadly curiosity. Since, we do not have the stamina or stability to manage the effect. This is an art, which
should be taught by Guru directly in a strictly controlled manner.

We can also protect ourselves from this noakku varmam which should also be learnt only from Guru. Hence, I
merely shared the information here. It is said that, still too gurus/aasaan for varma art were living in Kanyakumari
of Tamil Nadu (India) and Kerala (India). However, they will not expose themselves to the outer world. So,
interested persons can approach them with proper respect and can learn the art from them.
Books we are having are only the lighting source of our path of exploration and practical knowledge and
technicality can be achieved only from Guru.

Additional information on Noakku Varmam

Author: / Labels: Varmam
We have already seen that, noakku varmam is one among the 4 types of varma art. This noakku varmam is also
called as meitheendaak kalai, means the art without touching the body. Siththars advised this art to use only
during the anavoidable emergency situation.

This basic aim of this art is to self defense against the opposition party either man or animal, by mere vision on
them which make them disabled. However, this is possible only on the person within specified short range. No one
can win over the person who got excelled in this art. This is why, guru will not teach this art to any of his student
easily.
Another reason behind the restriction in teaching this art is; what if student learnt this art completely and over a
period of time student himself gets into pride and opposes guru? Gurus always have this suspicion and taught the
fine part of art only to family members and teach the rest to students.
Kindly note certain sentences like: kan thirushti (evil eye), kan paduthal (affected by the evil eye), ketta
paarvai (evil vision), oru parvaiyil saptha naadiyum odunguthal (restraining all naadis to single look) are
commonly used among public. We can treat this as evidence to reminiscence of noakku varmam.
The art which is taught to Chinese by Buddhist monk is exactly our art called mey theendaakalai. Now a days
this art is called as Dim Mak by Chinese.
Similarly, the modified version of this art is called as Aikido in Japan, which is self defense art.
Our Tamil Nadu is the birth place of this wide spread art. This is art of Tamilians however, almost every one
forgotten this art or no one is aware of this art. Now we have only the pride of this arts antiqueness and this is
worst part here. Volunteers and government officials should come forward and dig out the concerned information
and must restore its glory.
How noakku varmam is performed? What are those varma points? What we can do with these noakku varmam?
Let us see in the upcoming post with answer for above mentioned questions.

Noakku Varmam Some basics!

Author: / Labels: Varmam
Noakku varam. It became a hot trended topic from past 3 years and none was much aware of this type of this
topic before. At least, it is great thing that, we came to know about our art as well as our identity with minimal
information from films. It will definitely be a prideful thing to feel about that Tamil people, who used their vision
also for defense.
Like this only, we have lost many greatness of Tamilans. It will lead to bitterness if we try to find whether these
rare Tamil arts are hidden from us or lost in time period.
Noakku varmam is one type of varmam. I have already shared it one of my previous posts, That can be read in
the topic, types of varmam. Noakku varmam is elaborated in the books of Siththars like Agathiyar, Bogar, etc,.
Some people put forth their idea to my mail about their correlation of westernized hypnotism and mesmerism to
this noakku varmam. As far as I known, with my theoretical knowledge, both are different and emerges from
various basics. Hence, it is necessary to understand these basics.
During 18th century, Mesmer, a person who made the mesmerism a famous art and hence named after him.
However, the fictional stories and films have imposed the illusion about the art in minds of readers or among
common public. As seen in these fictional things, it is not possible to get someone under control in fraction of time.
Since, without the permission of that concerned person, it is not possible to do action of that art in this regard.
After obtaining permission from that concerned person, one should first make them settle in alpha state and make
them under control. That too, it is impossible to find the secret, if that person is not willing to tell those
information.

This state is a sleepy state, where we can feel the touch, can hear and can talk.
Through this art of hypnotism and mesmerism, it is possible to eradicate the feel of stress/ depression, pains and
sufferings, bad habits, feeling bad about themselves. Moreover, we even can come to know about the memories
of previous birth.
However, noakku varmam deals with spontaneous control of enemy or opposite party on mere vision and make
them under ones control. This is not over superstitious since, Bogar and Agathiyar also mentioned about this in
their books with their promising notes.
As far as the survival of this art, I will completely deny the statement of its evacuation because, the reminiscence
of this art lives among us still. Let us continue this topic in upcoming post.

Varmam in Medical field

Author: / Labels: Agathiyar, Siddha medicine, Varmam
We have already seen that, art of varma is basically a medical oriented art. Siththars told that, human body is
composed of 72,000 interconnected naadis through which 10 types of air (vaayu) flowing are in order as follows:
Prana Air of soul/life
Apana - Air of feces
Vyana Air of actions
Udana Air of sound
Samaan Air of distribution
Naga Air of conjuctiva
Kurma Air of palpebra
Krikara Air of sneezing
Devadatta Air of yawning
Dhananjaya Air of swelling
The junction point of these interconnected naadis is termed as knots of naadis and the air get stagnant in this
place. We can infer by listening naadi. Agathiyar told the way of listening those naadis.
This knots of naadi is termed as varma point. We can alter the air/vaayu movement by touching or pressing these
varma points and it is often termed as understanding of basics of varma. Any interested readers can refresh the
idea of varma in the topic, types of varma, where I have already discussed in previous posts.
In our modern medical treatment, we usually make patient either to unconscious state or inject him with certain
medicine (anesthetic) to make him numb make them not to feel the pain. For this, there are specific medicines
available nowadays. However in varma, by touching certain points, we can make the patient unconscious or feeling
the numbness in specific body parts.
After the finishing of treatment, touching of certain other parts make them conscious again or make them to
realize the senses in numb parts. This basic has been evolved as self defense art and becomes art of killing in later
periods.
Apart from these, Agathiyar also discussed a way to control the excess bleeding due to accidental cutting using
weapons or some other means as follows:

I have stopped the bleeding of two persons who met with an accident, using varmam technique. According to me,
varmam is a obviously a splendid art in these type of emergency situation.
Apart from these, Agathiyar describes the use of this art to figure out the hints of some other diseases and its cure
in his book. If time permits, I will share those things in future with gracious blessings from my guru.
As of now, one interesting topic is in balance to share. Of course! It is noakku varmam. What is noakku varmam?
Is this art still in use? What can we do with this noakku varmam? What can be done?
I will see you in upcoming post with answers for above question.

Is Varmam a mystery?
Author: / Labels: Bogar, Varmam
The art of varmam is basically a medicinal art. Over the period of time, it gets transformed as an art of self
defense and that too nowadays, cinematographers portrayed this art as mystic art of defense in their films.
However, we have to thank them, for bringing out this art in lime light, through which whole societal focus is now
towards this art of varmam.
Our human body is composed of bones, nerves and muscles interconnected together. We can see that
interconnection of part, how one organ is connected to other, etc., can be seen through scientific equipments like
x-rays and scan. Through this, treatment is given to damaged or infected organ.
In ancient days, even without any scientific development, varmam has its influence in medical field with
comparatively greater accuracy and that too not expensive. This is the information we inferred from the available
books. Unfortunately the information is incomplete which is due to two reasons: many significant books become
lost over time and another one is they mightbe destroyed by somebody.
Let us see the book list which we have now.
Odivu Murivu Saari
Varma Sooththiram
Varma Kannaadi

Varma Kaandam
Varma Peerangi
Varma Soodaamani
The glory of this art is also the cause for its destruction. Since, a person who got succeeded in this art got unique
skills which make him more dominant than their fellows of same race. Hence, he acquired the skill of making and
destruction too.
This art is taught only to the appropriate and suitable student by teacher/ guru since, if this art reaches a person
who got himself addicted to the material world and their lust may misuse this art which will ultimately results in
greater side effects. If a guru cannot find suitable student, then this art remains with him till his death and
destroyed thereafter.
It is not easy to learn this art as many regulations were put down by Siththars as eligibility criteria for learning this
art. Bogar in one of his song told the way of selecting correct student as follows;
"
maraivil vaippathenraal mainthaa kaelu

vakaiviparam kaipaakam maraippon rillai

uravaadich silapaerkal nool thaavenru

oaviyam poal mozhipaesi unnai maeippar

thiramaana noolavarkku veliyidaathae

seedanenru pannirandu varudam kaaththaal

arivaana pakththiyavark kiruntha thaanaal

appanae nilaiyarinthu noolai eeyae.
- (Bogar)
Bogar advises that, one should teach this art only after screening the students behavioural characteristics for 12
years and then test him to know the suitability and stability. Even after finding a suitable person, one should not
teach him right away. Before actual teaching, initial pre-practices regarding the mental and physical fitness for
handling this art should be given. After passing all level, than student is eligible to learn that art and guru will
teach him. Is this possible in this mechanical world?
Hence, a person with stability, serenity, focused thought, showing affection towards all livings, gracious thinking,
humanity like character have eligibility to learn this art. And the whole secrecy of art is taught only to those
personalities with above said behaviour. If any suspicious arises on that student in gurus mind leads to incomplete
teaching in this regard.
We will see the medicinal exploitation of varmam art and noakku varma in upcoming post.

Varmam Origin and Time!

Author: / Labels: Agathiyar, Bogar, Pulipaani Siththar,Varmam

As I have already discussed more information regarding varmam like varma types, methods, working procedure in
my previous posts. So, interested readers can refresh their ideas in the following link. However, due to continuous
requests from readers I would like to share some more additional information concerning varmam in this post.
Siththars documented in their poems as that the art of varmam was first originated by principal god Lord Siva. He
himself taught this art to his better half Sakthi and from her, Nandhi Devar learned this art. Agathiyar in his poem
told that he learned this art from Nandhi Devar.
Agathiyar noted this in his book Odivu Murivu Saari as follows:

paathimathi yaniparaman thaevikkisaiya

panivudanae thaeviyidam nantheesarvaangi

makizhvaaka enthanukku sonnaarappaa

vaethanai vaaraamal varmasookkumam

viparamudan unthanukku uraikkakkaelae
- (Agathiyar)
Bogar in his book Bogar Varmasoothiram told that, Lord Siva teach this art to goddess Sakthi and Devi Easwari
told this to Nandhi and Nandhi taught him.

thaaranaitha eesanru aayikkuch solla

thaayaana easwariyum nanthikkuch solla

parivudanae nanthisonna maarkkam

paadinaen varmasooththiram panpaaiththaanae
- (Bogar)
Pulipaani sithar, student o fBogar in his book Varma Kaandam, noted as follows:

pathaaramthanaip paninthu varmakaanadam

paadinaen naadinarambu aanavaarum

kaathaaram kondunarnthu ennai aanda

kadaatchamathu Bogaruda karunai yaalae

valamaakap Pulippaani paadinaenae
- (Pulippaani)
From the above information, we can infer that even though this art of varmam is originated from Lord Siva,
Nandhi Deva only taught and spread this art via his pupils. Nandhi Deva period might be belonging to 2nd century
or 3rd century.

Regarding this varmam art, surplus stories can be heard. However, the genunity of those stories are questionable.
However, in epics and literatures, lots of notes and direct/indirect information concerning varmm art is seen. In
mahabharatha, we can quote this following incident as example; Bheema attacked the thigh of Duryodhana.
In ancient times, this varmam art is treated as art of living among common public and anyone can learnt from
their teachers. After a specific period of time, that too after the domination of Western countries, this art is kept
hidden and secretly taught and get vanished over time.
Only small numbers of books are available with this varmam information.
Let us see the concerned information in upcoming posts.
Interesting right!!
