Map To The Greatest Treasure In The Universe

The old map was probably sent over to America in a shipment of antiques during the 1950's or 60's. The map
was purchased by an interior decorator and he gave it to a neighbor who hung it on the wall for over 10 years.
The man got tired of it and gave it to the Salvation Army. The dusty map was examined by a person hoping to
resell it for $30 to $40. The man bought the map for $3 from the Indianapolis Salvation Army junk store. The
man closely examined the map and found that it was not just a reproduced copy but an inked and water colored
original map. The man took it to the Indiana University experts who studied the map and got quite excited. This
map matches one mentioned in history books and official authentication tests were carried out on the map. The
map was the treasure, it was one of the maps commissioned by King Louis XIV in 1671 and was the first
accurate map of Paris, France. The map's worth in 1989 is around twelve million dollars. This was equivalent to
finding an unknown "Old Master" painting. This is a true story.

Why tell about an old map that brought someone else fame and fortune? Because finding the greatest treasure in
the universe is like the story of this map. The map to this treasure is easily seen but also hidden to untrained eyes.
The treasure is readily available but most will past it by and most will feel like the man who gave the map away
when its true value is eventually revealed.

What is the greatest treasure in the universe? Is it great lands, gold, jewelry, houses, and possessions? Is it having
power like a God? Is it esteem or popularity? Is it wisdom and knowledge of all secrets? Is it health and never
dying? Is it having the greatest artistic skill or the greatest beauty? Is it peace of mind and freedom from guilt? Is
it helping others? Is it abounding love, friendship, companionship, family, and acceptance? Is it having all your
needs met? Is it purpose for your life? Is it self confidence or having the best inner character traits? Or maybe all
of the above.

What would you do if you found the map to this treasure? Would you change your life, sacrifice your career, risk
your prestige, ignore pleasures, and risk even your life to go on a quest for this treasure? Would you endure
sacrifice, hardships, fear, being laughed at, hostility, and even torture if you were convinced that this treasure is
real and you know where it is? Would you keep on this quest if it took years before you could obtain all of the
treasure once it was uncovered? Most would say I might do this if I were convinced the treasure was worth the
trouble.

What if this treasure, like the map found in the junk shop, was readily available to all, but generally ignored by the
world, who believed it to be just another copy? Would you examine the seemingly ordinary old map to discover
that this is really a rare treasure? Or would you ignore this readily available treasure or give it away like the men
who once owned the map?

Where is this treasure? The treasure map is in the Holy Bible, in fact it is the map. The treasure is a personal
relationship with the creator of this universe through his son Jesus Christ. Wait, you say, how can this be a
treasure? Remember the map. Examine the details and you will see that this is truly the greatest treasure in the
universe. And once this treasure is obtained, all of the things you thought were the greatest treasures will pale in
comparison with this one. And also all the things that are really the greatest treasures in the universe will
eventually be given to you."Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be
added unto you." Matt. 6:33
What Treasures?
Land, gold, jewelry, houses, and possessions --"In my father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again
and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:2-3 ...."And the city lieth
foursquare and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, 1500 miles. The
length and the breadth and height of it are equal... And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with
all manner of precious stones...And the gates twelve gates were twelve pearls: every gate was of one pearl: And
the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass..." Rev. 21:16-27.

Power like God -- "Do ye not know that the Saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by
you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more
things that pertain to this life?" I Cor. 6:2-3.

Esteem and Popularity -- "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above
every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things
under the earth; and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father." Phil.
2:9-11.

Wisdom and Knowledge -- "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches
of the full assurance of understanding to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God and of the Father and of
Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Col. 2:2-3.

Health and never Dying -- "Bless the Lord 0 my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine
iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." Psalm 103:2-3. "For He is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all
live unto Him.' Luke 20:38. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
our Lord." Rom. 6:23. "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet will sound and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed...." 1 Col. 15:51-57.

Skill and Beauty-- "There are also celestial bodies and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one....As
we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly." I Cor. 15:40-49. "Behold
what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God: .... Beloved,
now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall
appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." I John 3:l-2.

Peace of Mind and Freedom from Guilt -- "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have
peace."... John 16:33." And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and mind
through Christ Jesus." Phil.4:7. "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of His grace;" Eph. l:7. "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace, with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ:" Rom. 5:l.

Helping Others --...."Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief
let him be your servant: .... "Matt. 20:26-28. "But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant .... " Matt.
23:11-12.

Unbounded Love, Friendship, Companionship. Family, and Acceptance -- Read I Cor. 13 (entire chapter}, (see
I John 3:l-2 above). "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him .... " Rom. 5:8-
11.

Having all needs met -- "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may
be full." John 76:24. "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in
the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it." John 14:13-14. "Ask, and it shall be given you; Seek,
and ye shall find; Knock, and it shall be opened unto you: .... " Matt. 7:7-11.

Purpose for your Life -- "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all heart, and with all thy
soul, and with all thy mind .... Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Matt. 22:37-39. 1 Cor. 13 (entire
chapter).

Self Confidence and Inner Character -- "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of
mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.... And above all things put on love, which is the
bond of perfectness...." Col 3:12-16. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Gal. 5:22-23.

As you can see, if you check these promises out, the treasure is real and the treasure is available to you now, as
a free gift from God. Do you have to do anything special? No: just ask in prayer believing that God will do as He

For this truly is a map to the greatest treasure in the universe and you can have it, now.

Why not go for it as hundreds of millions of people already have? Or else, you can know for all eternity that you
had a chance to receive this treasure and you blew it~ The choice is up to you. You may never have another
chance. You can throw away this treasure like the person who had the map on the wall for 10 years and thought
there was no value in this treasure now. But soon, like the former owners of the old map, the rest of the world
will recognize too late, that a personal relationship with the creator of the universe through his son Jesus Christ
was the greatest treasure in the universe.
