PALAWAN: WORLDS BEST ISLAND FOR 2016
The Department of Tourism (DOT) MIMAROPA (Mindoro Occidental, Mindoro Oriental,
Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) supports the collaborative efforts of the Province of
Palawan in organizing the Worlds Best Island Travel Expo 2016 at Robinsons Place in the City
of Puerto Princesa on July 28, to 31, 2016.
The event is expected to sustain the recognition of Palawan as Worlds Best Island
cited by Travel and Leisure Magazine in 2013 and the current year and as a Top Island in the
World adjudged by Conde Nast Travel Magazine in 2014 and 2015.
A cooperative effort between the public and private sectors, the expo hopes to bring
together travel and tourism suppliers in the Palawan in one grand setting to sell tourism
products amongst local buyers.
The three-day travel and trade fair is expected to strengthen Palawans positioning as a
top tourist destination and help drive economic activity in the province according to DOT
MIMAROPA Regional Director Minerva Aldaba Morada.
The main features of the fair include: (1) Palawan Packages on Sale which will allow
prospective buyers to book and buy promotional Palawan tour packages exclusively offered in
the event; (2) Cultural Performances on stage featuring Palawan artists as they showcase
their culture through songs and dances and (3) Promotional Product and Program
Launching to entice tourism activities in the province.
