Holocaust by Bullet
The Holocaust Memorial Center is pleased to present Holocaust by Bullets, a powerful exhibit
which showcases Father Patrick Desbois and Yahad - In Unum's historic undertaking to ensure
that these victims won't be forgotten, said the Holocaust Memorial Center.

The Holocaust Memorial Center will be presenting the Holocaust by Bullets exhibit. The exhibit
opened June 24 and will continue until December 30. Holocaust by Bullet exhibit showcases
Father Patrick Desbois and Yahad-In Unums work of findings the uncovered truth behind the
murders of Jews in eastern Europe.

For more than 12 years weve been going into the field village by village to look for
witnesses, those who were children, those who were teenagers and who saw what happened with
the Jews and the Roma in all these villages, said Marco Gonzales, Director of YahadIn Unum

in an interview with Michgan Radio. All of the Jews and Roma population were systematically
killed in these small villages.

Gonzales said the exhibit will showcase the five steps Germans on this march undertook as they
murdered Jews in Eastern European villages. He said unlike the Holocaust by gas chambers, the
victims were publicly killed by bullets.

Yahad-In Unum is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to finding and identifying mass
Jewish killing sites and collecting forensic evidence of the executions. The organization says that
they seek to unsilence a chapter of history that has remained silent for far too long.

The Holocaust by Bullets was a model for the mass violence that continues to be so prevalent
in the world today. Exposing a largely unknown chapter of the Holocaust is helping to bring
closure to the memory of the victims. It is important to know that Yahad-In Unum is not merely
focused on the past. Our work serves to influence all societies to examine the darker recesses of
history and to speak out against todays global disease of genocide, said on Yahad-In Unum
website.

The website says that the organization has researched 1,902 execution sites and has
gathered 4,748 testimonies during the course of its 111 investigative research trips in seven
countries, including: Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Poland, Romania, Moldova, and Lithuania.

The Holocaust by bullets wasnt a tsunami. It is a criminal story. These were men who killed
other men. Each victim saw his or her assassin. The assassin conducted these massacres in public
across a continent, from Serbia to the Caucasus, over more than 4 years, killing more than 2
million Jewish victims., said Father Patrick Desbois, a Catholic Priest and founder of Yahad
In Unum.

Father Desbois started his research in 2004, finding the stories of Jews, Romas and other victims
murdered in Eastern Europe during WWII by the Nazi mobile killing units, the Einsatzgruppen.
During an interview with CNN, Desbois said the evidence of these mass executions, which
happened in Eastern Europe between 1941 - 1944, needs to be revealed because there are still
people who deny it ever happened. And he believes, instead of concentration camps like
Auschwitz, mass shootings have become "the base for modern genocide."

In his book, Holocaust by Bullet, Desbois says he believes that the criminal process has become
the model for mass violence today. He says that discovering the history and stories of the
Holocaust by bullet is the key to weapons and shields to fight against mass violence today and
tomorrow.
