I am writing to you today regarding the Registered Nurse position on the transplant unit
at Tampa General Hospital. I am a student nurse due to graduate August 6, 2016, from the
University of South Florida. I plan on obtaining my nursing license within 4-6 weeks of
graduating. My preceptorship of 180 hours, with a float nurse, provided me with vast clinical
experience on various units throughout Tampa General Hospital, including the transplant unit.
I was immediately drawn to the transplant unit due to the camaraderie of the staff and the
exceptional patient population. I spent at least half of my preceptorship on the Transplant Unit,
and I am familiar with the particular needs, medications, and basic plan of care for a transplant
patient. I would relish the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills as a novice nurse by
obtaining a position on the transplant unit.
I believe I would be a strong asset to the nursing staff on the transplant unit, as well as the
Tampa General Hospital organization. Thank you for your time and consideration of my
