EXPLAIN INPUT DEVICES AND THEIR FUNCTION

EXPLAIN OUTPUT DEVICES AND THEIR FUNCTION
BRIEFLY EXPLAIN COMPUTER STORAGE AND ITS TYPES
COMPUTER CAN BE CLASSIFIED BASE ON THE FOLLOWING PARAMETERS:
- TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED
- THE SIZE
- THE PURPOSE OR SCORE
- THE AGE OF TECHNOLOGY DISCUSS THEM IN DETAILS
5. DISCUSS THE CONCEPT OF DATA PROCESSING TECHNIQUES

6.

QUESTION 1 INPUT DEVICES

Input device are connected to the computer through ports or sockets. Some of these
periphery devices are used to enter information into the computer. They include
keyboards, joystick and digital cameras.
The functions of the devices are:
1. The main part of computer keyboard has alpha-numeric (letters and
numbers). Keys similar to a typewriter. However, the keyboard also features
keys that cause the computer to perform specific tasks.
2. The function of keys along the top of the keyboard is labeled F1, F2 up to
f12. These shortcut keys allow you to quickly complete a specific tasks
within the certain programs. For example, F1 opens Help in Microsoft
Office.
3. The print screen, scroll lock and pause/break keys are of the far right end of
the keyboard. The print screen key takes Picture of your screen that you
can edit or save using a graphics program.
4. Using the Mouse: The mouse is the hand-held devices that lets you point to
object on the screen click on them, and move them.
5. Scanners: A scanner allows you to copy on image into your computer. It
comes in handy if you want to email pictures, or scan any importance
document.
6. Microphone and Joystick: A microphone is another function of input
devices. Connect the microphone to the computer and use the computer to
recorded a good sound.
7. A digital camera lets you capture a picture in digital (computer readable)
from and lets you transfer that image directly from the camera to the
computer.
QUESTION 2 OUTPUT DEVICES

The output device delivers information to the user. Monitors, speakers, earphones,
and printers are also of significant importance, because they allows users to hear
sound an print document respectively.
1. The monitor works with a video card, located inside the computer case, to
allows you to see images and text on the screen. Monitors come in different
sizes, including 15, 17, 19 and 21 inch.
Most of the new computers come with a monitor within the size of small TV.
However, you can buy a less bulky but more expensive flat panel monitor.
2. Speaker are devices that connect to a computer and make sound and music
audible. Speakers are comes as separate and indeed some times as inbuilt.
3. Earphone are output devices plug earphones into your speakers, monitor or
case to listen music, movie clips and other media.
QUESTION 3
1. The first electronic computer, the electronic numerical integrator and
computer (ENIAC), was developed in 1946. It measured 18 feet by 80 feet
and weighted 30 tons. Todays desktop computer weight much less, and can
store a million times more information and are 50,000 times faster than the
former.
2. The first personal computer or PC where introduced in the 1970s PC come
in to the widespread use in the 1980s as casts decreased and machines
became more powerful.
3. In recent years, notebook-size laptop computer and hand held Personal
Digital Assistants (PDAs) have become popular.
QUESTION 4
Computer can be classified base on the following parameters
4 (A) types of data processed

1. Bach processing system, were you submit a job and to receive output in the
form of a file.
2. Real time system: were you submit request to do a small amount of work
that has to be done before some very early deadline.
3. Data warehouse system: where reporting programs and her quarries access
data that is integrated from multiple data sources.
4. Other system types.
These other system types that are related to TP are timesharing and client
server.
5. Summary: a transaction is the execution of a program that performs on
administrative function by accessing a shared database.
6. TP system configuration:
When learning the principles of transaction process
4 (B) The purpose or score
Comparison of system types: Transaction processing has different characteristics,
then the other styles and therefore requires system that are specifically engineered
to the purpose.
4 (C) Why Engineer a TP System?
Each system types that we looked at is designed for certain usage patterns.
Although it is engineered for that usage pattern it actually can be used in other
ways.
Question 5 concept of data processing
To transaction concept
Predictability depends on the application response time through out missed
deadlines network of devices submitting data and operations unconstrained
application responsibility.
