LEAVE RULES
Following Leave Rules will be applicable in the Institute for Faculty and Staff:
General Rules
1. Leave cannot be claimed as a matter of right.
2. In case of exigencies of services, leave may be refused by the management.
3. Leave be got sanctioned in advance.
4. Absence from duty without approved/sanctioned leave will be considered as delinquency in duty
amounting to disciplinary action.
5. Leave application will be routed through the concerned HOD.
Privilege Leave
1. An employee will be entitled to six days Privilege Leave per year.
2. No Privilege Leave can be availed during the one year from joining; however, the accrued leave
of first year can be availed after putting in one year of service.
3. Privilege Leave can not be combined with Casual Leave.
4. Privilege Leave accrued over and above 30 will be lapsed automatically.
5. Privilege Leave will not be encashed at any stage.
Medical Leave
1. An employee will be entitled to maximum eight days Medical Leave per year.
2. Medical Leave for more than 3 days will require a medical certificate and a fitness certificate
from a Registered Medical Practitioner.
3. Medical Leave can be accumulated maximum upto 240 days during the entire tenure of service.
Summer/Winter Vacation
Summer/Winter break will be declared by the University/Institute according to Academic Calendar and
work exigencies in the Institute.

from a Registered Medical Practitioner.
3. Medical Leave can be accumulated maximum upto 240 days during the entire tenure of service.
These rules will come into force w.e.f. January 01, 2012.
