As I was creating a classroom used my memory of how my old elementary

classrooms were set up. There were some that I like better than others because my
teachers would decorate and set up the classroom that appealed to us as kids.
I set up the desks in groups of five because I feel it creates a more interactive
learning environment for the students. They are placed sided ways to where both
the board and myself can be seen by the all the students. I have placed a sink on
the side of classroom as many of my old schools classrooms had their own sink
which is great if teaching in an elementary classroom. I feel this is a great thing to
have as many projects that go on can often times become very messy. My desk is
placed in the back of the class because I feel that when teachers have their desks
placed at the front of the class it becomes a distraction for some students. And,
unless teaching something at the front of the class I would like student to
concentrate on their work, and not be distracted by any shuffling papers. Aside from
the placement/setup of the furniture, I believe that have a fun classroom dcor
creates a fun learning environment for students.
Through this assignment I have learned how to set up a classroom floor plan
that will not only help me in the future but is something that can also be helpful to
any substitute/other teacher helping teach the class. Though setting up my
classroom I also realized different aspects that you have to take into consideration
while setting up/assigning things a certain place. It is very important that while in
the learning environment students are able to see and learn without any problems.

As well as be able to collaborate with one another doing certain activities in the
classroom. As addressed by the (NETS) by using technology to help set up a floor
plan we are not only creating something that will help ourselves, but also help other
teachers and students. By creating a classroom you are setting up learning
environment for your students to be able to learn and help prepare them for a
successful future.
I didnt really have any major hurdles while creating a classroom. This skill
can also use to create assignments sheet by using the different shapes that are
used in creating a classroom. It can also come I handy to take attendance or, even
to use the setup around class activities. Something else that could be created could
be a simple map of the school that uses the same shapes and concept of a
classroom floor plan.
