SAP BusinessObject Dashboard Integration:

SAP BusinessObject Dashboard Integration: You can configure your model to


work with live data updates from external sources such as XML, Portals, Web
Services, SAP Business Object Enterprise SAP Business Explorer Queries.

Main pre-requisites to use a SAP BO dashboard:

The EPM Connector Add On


The BPC Data Grid Add On
The model must be set as Use as Source of data

You can configure components such as dials,charts,maps to display data directly


from the spreadsheet to write data to the spreadsheet so that it can be used by
other components or to accept data entered by users when the model is running.
To read data from the Excel interface of the EPM Add in, you must create a design
time connection which will be used to access data during the construction of the
dashboard.

You can make the EPM Add In report dynamic by using the EPM connector:
1. Delete the static data from the EPM Add In report
2. From the Dashboard DESIGN menu, choose Data, the Connections.
Output Details: This includes the following 4 fields:
Results: The cells which contain the report output is listed here
Message: The cell where messages should be output
Refresh on Load: Select to have the data refreshed when opening
Refresh Every Select to trigger a refresh every x seconds.
When the user selects Refresh they will need to log in.
Dashboards can also be used to input small amounts of data back to BPC. When
creating the connection, choose the input data operation, then specify the base
level members for each dimension.
The Input data connection can only be configured for exactly 1 cell of the report.If
you have multiple cells to update, you must create a connection for each cell.
An alternate would be to create member list boxes for each dimension and have the
end user select the member at runtime.Still the end user can update one 1 at a
time.

Unit 6: Drill Through Functionality: The drill through feature


enables you to view information on source data that makes up the
content of a selected cell in a report in excel.
Drill Down: performs an expansion of a parent member
Drill Through: jumps the user to another system and
performs a look up based on which cell the users curser is in.

Drill Through Options:

Drill Through ECC: There is a restriction to keep in mind for ECC


drill through.If the ECC target has a pop up that prompts the user
for an organizational assignment for eg, drill through will not
work. Drill through to multi screen, complex transactions are not
supported.

Pre-requisites to drill through ECC : ERP transactions can be


accessed from a URL through the Internet transaction server
Drill Through BW Query: Pre-requisites: You need a URL and
the query name.

Unit 5: Web Integration:

User Preference: Language, Time , Date and Number format


can also be customized by the user.

When this is clicked, a new tab is opened, allowing the user to see
the current environment, ID of the current user, Full Name and
email add of the current user. Additionally, the user can see which
teams, task profile and data access profile they are assigned to.

objects such as workspaces, reports and input forms, dashboards

Documents: Document view is a central repository for storing or


sharing files and wesites.You can use the features of the
documents view to post, share and retrieve files or the contents
of a website and to manage the display of the content.

Context Defaults: Context Default control the initial settings


when working in the web interface.
