GET CONNECTED WITH GOD

KE PACO version
Lesson 3 NEW LIFE
When you accepted Jesus Christ in your heart as Lord and Savior, you become a new
creation. Your present life in Jesus has made all things new. It doesnt mean a change of
name, birthday or address, but a change in identity as a child of God and a reason for
living. (2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the
old has gone, the new has come.)
The 2 Cs of old life:
1. Crucified -- Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ in me. The life
I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave
himself for me.
Note: Our old man was crucified with Jesus when He died on the cross for all
humanity. Yes, He died but rose again in three days. Jesus triumphed. And so, we will
also triumph.
What do you think are the benefits of Jesus crucifixion for us?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1. Condemned 2 Thessalonians 2:12
and so that all will be condemned who had not believed the truth but have
delighted in wickedness.
Note: While Jesus is full of mercy and grace, He is also just. He requires that our life
of sin be condemned.
Based on Romans 6:23 (The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life
through Christ Jesus.), what is the penalty for sin? What is Gods gift to us?
Now, what is in store for you in your new life?
The 2 Cs of new life:
1. Child of God - Romans 8:16
The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are Gods children.

Note: For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ. Name some ways how
your parents cared for you.
Remember, if your earthly parents did that for you, how much more your heavenly
Father? He is your Father when no one else can fill up your needs. He is always there
when it seems that nobody cares. He is someone you can run to and can be of great help
in times of trouble.
2. Conqueror -- Romans 8:35-37
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble, or hardship, or
persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword No, in all these things
we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Which one of these situations may overcome us and separate us from God?
----------- failing grades

------------ accident

----------- broken relationships

------------ peer pressure

----------- financial difficulties

------------ rejection

.
You will surely experience an inner struggle between the old man and your new life in
Christ even though the old man was crucified and its power was broken. Take heart, this
is common to every believer! You will have this struggle as long as you are in your
mortal bodies. Jesus struggled, too, but the good thing is, He overcame and so you will
overcome too! Remember always that you are a child of God and you are a conqueror.
No weapon of Satan can prosper against you.
