The Situation
In early Feb, 2015 we received the requirement from Facebook to source
Freshers for their job opening in Hyderabad. It was tough initially to
understand the problem statement as with a mere push through Facebook,
this requirement could have been filled within days. Then came the job
description. It wasn't a glamorous role. High paying roles in Facebook are a
cake walk but this was not one of them.
Analyst, Community Operations is similar in roles to a customer support
specialist in any other company. The role involves assisting users with their
queries and resolving inquiries empathetically, accurately and on time.

Changing Trends
The Job scene is changing. According to research done by our market
experts, we know for a fact that the next few years is going to be the era of
Grey Collar ( BPO, Tele-callers, Technical Support, etc.) and Blue Collar
job (Delivery agents, Housekeeping, etc.)
The leads coming in are increasing by the day and we are constantly
pushing ourselves to source the best candidates for such roles. But, are the
candidates for such jobs available? Definitely! It is just a matter of marketing
it to the right crowd. We conducted a survey on more than 1 Lakh college
students across various departments and more than 30% said that they
were flexible with their job preference. Many of the grey collar jobs pay more
than jobs in the core market. This is one of the reasons that is encouraging
candidates to choose such companies. The interest among candidates is
slow as of now but it is growing for sure.
The Solution
We have more than 45 Lakh active Fresher resumes on our job portal.
The problem of getting candidates interested for a grey collar job, whatever
the company may be is still a tough net to crack. But, we were confident of
completing the task entrusted upon us. The mix of core marketing tactics

videos about the job opening, Social Media Campaigns to campus
marketing activities, we went the whole hog.
The ResultThe result was extraordinary! From the day the job was posted, it was an upward
journey for our delivery team who were in-charge of ensuring proper shortlisting of
the applications as per the need of Facebook hiring team. Facebook prerequisite
was that all shortlisted candidates should have excellent communication skills and
understanding of the Facebook platform. Our delivery team ensured that this is
