particular area. In addition, I referred to my textbook and the College's Online Videos for assistance and clarification.

L.U. : More emphasis was placed on client safety and safe environment partly because of the nature of some of the illnesses. Most of the patients
have Cerebrovascular Accidents or other neurological deficits that placed them at high risk for falls. Safety was improved by proper lighting, proper
foot wear when ambulating, assisted ambulation, use of wheel-chair and walker and clear pathways. In addition, call bell is placed when client is in
bed.

interaction. Some patient does not see family members for days and so the nurse needs to be that means of social interaction. I listen to my patients,

This clinical rotation has helped me to develop the skills and knowledge required to practice safely and competently. I am using the open access lab,
textbooks and the college's online videos to achieve the goals set in my learning plan in a timely manner. In addition, I use feedback from my peers to
help me improve my skills in order to provide safe and competent client care. I will continue to practice my assessment skills with famility members
and peers to maintain competency.

At the end of this clinical rotation I developed the skills required at my level of studies to practice safely and competently. I checked vital signs,
administered oral medications, subcutaneous injections, wound dressings, bed baths and health teachings. In addition, electronic documentation was
done accurately and in a timely manner. I will continue to practice my skills in the Open Access Lab and seek assistance as needed.

After two semesters in a clinical setting, I have developed and master some nursing skills to safely and competently provide client care. I had
opportunity to work on areas highlighted from my previous learning plan. I can now confidently and safely administer oral medication, subcutaenous
injections such as enoxaparin, mix and administer insulin routinely or according to sliding scale, mix IV medication and set it up on the IV pump,
perform accurate vital signs and respond appropriately to abnormal values, perform bed bath, insertion of male catheter, wound dressing and
assessment for infection, assess for and prevention of pressure ulcer, set up and administer ventolin treatment, empty and measure output via foley
bag.
Some areas that require improvement is removal of sutures and staples, insertion of female catheter and suctioning. These skills will be practiced in
Open Access Lab and the college's online nursing videos will be used as guidance.
My teacher has provided support and guidance to practice many skills and improve my nursing practice. Importance of prioritizing activities were
highlighted to increase efficiency and achieve health care goals.
