SKR Music Camp and Music Festival 2015 Information

Dear Parents and Students,

Your son/daughter is a member of one or more ensembles that will be intensively rehearsing at a Music Camp
being held in the at the end of the first term holidays and first week of Term 2 at Rutherford Park (near Daylesford).
The purpose of the camp is to rigorously prepare the ensembles for Music Festival which is being held at Hamer
Hall on Tuesday 5 May.
As we anticipate that all members of all ensembles will be attending the camp, we have already enrolled your
child as participating in the appropriate sessions as listed below. However, we still require you to return your
completed permission form, or notify us immediately if your child is opting out of the camp for any reason.
The attached form need to be returned by Friday 6 March.
The camp is divided into five sessions to cater for the large number of ensembles and students involved. Your
son/daughter will need to attend the Session(s) appropriate to their ensemble or ensembles as specified in the
table below. Students who participate in two (or more) consecutive sessions will remain at camp and will return
from camp at the conclusion of their final session. Students who participate in non-consecutive sessions will need
to return to Wesley between their sessions.

The cost for the camp covers all meals, transport, guest tutors and accommodation, and will be calculated by
the number nights each student stays. The rates are as follows:

Further Information

Students returning to school from camp on Thu 16 April (Session D students) can attend their afternoon
classes in casual clothes or, with the permission of a parent, can go home.

A confirmation letter and suggested packing list for Music Camp will be provided prior to the end of Term
One.

Please note that students MUST be at school at 8:00am on the day of departure (or at the end of Period
4 for Session D students)

The attached Permission Form also includes consent to be transported by bus to and from Hamer Hall
on Tuesday 5 May for the purposes of Music Festival rehearsals.

As the costs of running this camp are not recoverable if a student is unable to attend the camp
after having applied to attend, a cancellation fee will apply as follows; in the event of a cancellation
on or before 23 March, 2015 a cancellation charge of 50% of the camp fees applies, or 100% of the
camp fees if cancelling on or after 24 March, 2015.

Music Festival Rehearsal Consent

Music Camp is a great time to consolidate and prepare for the main music event of the Wesley College calendar,
Music Festival. This year, Music Festival will be held on Tuesday 5 May at the Hamer Hall. There will be
rehearsals held during the day of the performance times are yet to be confirmed for each ensemble. Students
will travel by bus from Wesley College to Hamer Hall and back to Wesley College (as per the schedule yet to be
published).
I give my consent for my child to travel between Wesley College and the Melbourne Recital Centre for
rehearsals on Tuesday May 5, 2015
I acknowledge that in the event of a medical emergency arising to my child, and in the event that it is
impracticable in the circumstances to contact my partner or me, I authorise Wesley College and the teachers in
charge to consent to receiving such medical treatment as deemed necessary in the circumstances, including
blood transfusion and administering of anaesthetic. I agree to pay all medical expenses and transport costs
incurred on behalf of my child as a result of injury or illness sustained by him/her.
