Pengertian DESAIN BUSANA

Busana dan pelengkap (milineris dan asesoris) yang kita pakai setiap hari dibuat
tidak asal jadi, tetapi berdasarkan pola atau rancangan tetentu yang disebut
dengan desain. Semakin maju tingkat kehidupan masyarakat, semakin banyak
memerlukan peran desain, semakin tinggi selera masyarakat semakin tinggi pula
tuntutan kecermatan desainnya.

desain busana ini akan di jelaskan tentang pengertian desain busana, jenis-jenis
desain, unsur-unsur desain, prinsip-prinsip desain, alat dan bahan yang dibutuhkan
untuk mendesain, desain anatomi tubuh, teknik menggambar bagian-bagian
busana dan teknik pewarnaan dan penyelesaian desain.
Sebuah desain tidak mungkin tercipta tanpa ada unsur-unsur pembentuknya, dan
tidak akan indah atau menarik dilihat tanpa mempertimbangkan prinsip-prinsip
desain. Apa saja yang tergolong pada unsur dan prinsip desain ini akan dibahas
secara mendalam pada Bab ini.
Dengan pengetahuan tentang desain ini, diharapkan seorang calon desainer dapat
membuat desain busana dengan baik dan benar.
Desain tidak hanya sekedar gambar saja tetapi dengan desain seseorang dapat
membuat pakaian mulai dari mengambil ukuran, membuat pola, pecah pola,
menggunting sampai menjahit pakaian dengan kata lain desain merupakan
pedoman seseorang dalam mewujudkan pakaian ke bentuk sebenarnya. Jadi
jelaslah bahwa desain memegang peranan penting dalam pembuatan suatu
pakaian.

A. Pengertian Desain
Desain berasal dari Bahasa Inggris (design) yang berarti rancangan, rencana atau
reka rupa. Dari kata design muncullah kata desain yang berarti mencipta, memikir
atau merancang. Dilihat dari kata benda, desain dapat diartikan sebagai
rancangan yang merupakan susunan dari garis, bentuk, ukuran, warna, tekstur dan
value dari suatu benda yang dibuat berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip desain. Selanjutnya
dilihat dari kata kerja, desain dapat diartikan sebagai proses perencanaan bentuk
dengan tujuan supaya benda yang dirancang mempunyai fungsi atau berguna serta
mempunyai nilai keindahan.

Desain merupakan pola rancangan yang menjadi dasar pembuatan suatu benda
seperti busana. Desain dihasilkan melalui pemikiran, pertimbangan, perhitungan,
cita, rasa, seni serta kegemaran orang banyak yang dituangkan di atas kertas
berwujud gambar. Desain ini mudah dibaca atau di pahami maksud dan
pengertiannya oleh orang lain sehingga mudah diwujudkan ke bentuk benda yang
sebenarnya.
Dari uraian di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa desain merupakan bentuk rumusan
dari suatu proses pemikiran, pertimbangan dan perhitungan dari desainer yang
dituangkan dalam wujud gambar.
Gambar tersebut merupakan pengalihan gagasan atau pola pikir konkret dari
perancang kepada orang lain. Setiap busana adalah hasil pengungkapan dari
sebuah proses desain.
