TECHNICAL PROPOSAL

Based on the feedback received, we understand the existence of urgent


need to make FIRS ITAS Project Team familiar with Linux Red-Hat Enterprise
Operating System and Oracle 11g Database Application Software. It is not
only critical but inevitable for the department to acquire this skill
immediately to ensure smooth, effective implementation of ITAS Software for
the department.
Based on the above, we have put together our customized Corporate
Training Proposal to meet your just-in-time, in-situation learning objectives.

Description
This course is very important for the learner as it imparts the basic
knowledge of Linux. The objective of this module is to familiarize students
with the Linux platform and provide sufficient knowledge to make them
power users.
GUI of Linux operating system is based on the client server architecture and
it uses X Window System that is the default windowing system of Linux. The
two X desktop environments are KDE and GNOME. The KDE and GNOME
desktop environments also provide various types of utilities, such as office,
Internet, accessories, and system tools. The end users need to learn the
utilities to perform their daily tasks, such as creating documents, doing
calculations and scheduling tasks. They can exchange information with other
users with talk and pine utilities. Linux also offers utilities to compress and
decompress files, which will enable users to reduce the size of huge files that
need to be sent over the Internet.

Course Description
In this course, you install the Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition
software, create a new database, and learn how to administer the database.
You also configured the database to support an application and perform
tasks such as creating users, defining storage structures, and setting up
security. This course uses a fictional application. However, you perform all
the core tasks that are necessary for a real application.
Database administration does not end after you configure your database.
You also learn how to protect it by designing a backup and recovery strategy
and how to monitor it to ensure that it operates smoothly.

ORACLE COURSEWARE & PARTICIPANTS KIT:
To provide Original Courseware from Oracle University to each
participant.
To provide writing materials & to each participant.
To provide NIIT Certificate of Participation to all participants.
TRAINING INFRASTRUCTURE:
To conduct specified training at any of the NIIT Training Centre of your
choice and preference in Abuja or Lagos.
To provide requisite Hardware, Software and learning infrastructure
comprising of computers in LAN environment.
PARTICIPANTS WELFARE:
To provide lunch to all participants during the training program.
OTHER SERVICES:
To provide course progress report and performance analysis for your
internal assessment.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:


1) Training Fee and other Costs indicated above are exclusive of Taxes other
than 5% VAT.
2) This proposal does not include cost of professional exam for Oracle
Certified Associate Title from Oracle Inc. Same can be offered separately,
if so required.
3) Training Courses will commence on proposed start dates or any other
dates convenient to you, subject to a minimum 2 weeks advance
notification in writing and confirmation from us.
4) Once training date is confirmed it cannot be changed. In case of date
change will be liable to pay a cancellation fee amounting to 50% of the
total order value sum applicable.
5) All payments should be made 100% in advance minimum 1 week prior to
the training commencement date, drawn in favor of Basic Information
& Communication Systems Limited, Abuja.
6) In case the client is exempted from paying VAT, client needs to provide
VAT exemption certificate from Revenue Authorities along with Order
Confirmation Letter to BICS Limited to enjoy the exemption.
7) Any other Tax deduction such as Withholding Tax, etc at source by client
is on clients account.
8) This proposal and prices are valid for a period of 30 days only.
