PROC MIXED
Combina efectos fijos con efectos aleatorios
EFECTOS FIJOS
Niveles predeterminados del factor que se estudia en el
experimento (nivel de lisina, %AG n-3, raza). Nos interesa conocer
su significacin (ANOVA) y hacer comparaciones entre medias. Las
conclusiones slo pueden generalizarse a esos niveles de
tratamientos.
EFECTOS ALEATORIOS
Se introducen para reducir CME. No interesa conocer significacin
ni valores medios.
Ej: camada, ao, granja, laboratorio, parcela Las unidades
pueden sustituirse sin alterar objetivos. Las conclusiones pueden
generalizarse si la muestra es al azar.
N UD < N TRATAMIENTOS
Ejemplo 1: 6 tratamientos; 6 bloques con 5 unidades; 30
unidades experimentales
Cada tratamiento debe aparecer 5 veces
Los distintos tratamientos deben aparecer tan a menudo
como sea posible en cada bloque.
= omitir un tratamiento en cada bloque

CUADRADO LATINO
La estructura del diseo en cuadrado latino consiste en bloquear en dos
direcciones. Para un experimento con t tratamientos, t2
unidades
experimentales se distribuyen en un cuadrado con t filas (row block) y t
columnas (column blocks). Los tratamientos se asignan al azar pero con dos
restricciones: Cada tratamiento se encuentra una vez, y slo una vez, en
cada fila y en cada columna.

EXAMPLES OF META-ANALYSES
1. Empirical modelling of biological multiple
responses (digestion, meat or milk
composition, performance , health, emissions)
allowing to establish optimal
-nutrient recomendations (eg AAs, fibre, or P),
-environmental conditions (eg temperature)
For different BW, physiological stage, type of
diet, etc.
PREDICTION DIGESTIBLE P
EXAMPLES OF META-ANALYSES
2. Global hypothesis testing=assess efficacy
and safety of new technologies:
36 separate studies on the effect of feeding
yeasts to dairy cows (Poppy et al., 2012)
(Cr, biotin, betaine, fat, monensin,
inmunocastration, etc.)
Legislation: unbiased overviews of the available
evidence on product claims.
