Procedures:
1) Please, submit your memorials on or before March 20, 2016 through
arimonmartinez@gmail.com.
2) On the day of the debate, the following procedure shall be followed:
a. Set A will start at exactly 6:00PM
b. There will be three speakers from each team. The remaining
members will assist their respective speakers.
c. OPENING STATEMENTS AND CLARIFICATON
i. Speaker 1 (Pro) Opening statements, stating three
arguments; speaker will be given 10 minutes to speak,
but the panel has the right to ask questions within the
10-minute period;
ii. Speaker 1 (Con) Asks any clarifying questions to
Speaker 1 (Pro) for two (2) minutes;
iii. Speaker 1 (Con) - Opening statements, stating three
arguments; speaker will be given 10 minutes to speak,
but the panel has the right to ask questions within the
10-minute period;
iv. Speaker 1 (Pro) Asks any clarifying questions to
Speaker 1 (Con) for two (2) minutes;
d. REBUTTAL (NO NEW ARGUMENTS PRESENTED)
i. Speaker 2 (Pro) Repeats their opponents arguments
and tells what is wrong with the positions; speaker will
be given 10 minutes to speak, but the panel has the
right to ask questions within the 10-minute period;
ii. Speaker 2 (Con) Repeats their opponents arguments
and tells what is wrong with the positions; speaker will
be given 10 minutes to speak, but the panel has the
right to ask questions within the 10-minute period;
e. SUMMARY
i. Speaker 3 (Pro) - Summarizes their position by
speaking to their opponents counterpoints and closes
with why their argument is best;
ii. Speaker 3 (Pro) - Summarizes their position by
speaking to their opponents counterpoints and closes
with why their argument is best.
f. Each side will also be expected to answer questions from the
audience. (10 minutes)

3) Set B will also follow the same procedure.


4) The following criteria will be considered in the judging and the giving
of the grades:
