Presidents Message

Jason Flannagan, D.D.S.

Thank you to Dr. Doug Spaulding
for Chairing the IDDS Foundations Golf
Tournament. He hosts this at Hillcrest
Country Club, and has done so since 2006.
Doug is very important to the success of the
IDDS Foundations efforts to raise funds for
its philanthropic projects. The Foundation
Board of Directors provide their time, talent
and treasure to help the Foundation raise
the funding necessary to help others.
All active (not retired) members are
invited to the Fall Workshop on September
15. Dr. Matt Bojrab will talk about the
future of stem cells and dentistry. Contact
the office to registerthis should be an
excellent learning experience for all of us,
as we integrate technology and dentistry to
serve our patients.

The Fall General Membership Meeting

will be October 5th and will feature Dr.
Jerome Adams, State Heath Commissioner,
as our guest speaker. Also, Dr. Jay Arsdell,
IDA President, will speak and we will be
recognizing our 10 year members.
Thank you to all of our Delegates and
Alternates who found the time to attend
and be involved in this years IDA Annual
Session. Several important committees have
been formed from that Session, and more
information about their plans will be forthcoming in the future.
Please set aside May 12th and 13th
for the Second Indiana Dental Association
Mission of Mercy (MOM) Project. We
will need all of the volunteers available to
provide dental care to the public. It will be
held at the State Fairgrounds and is being
Chaired this year by Dr. Todd Briscoe from
the Isaac Knapp District Dental Society. You
and your staff members will be vital to the
success of MOM, so please go to the IDAs
website and sign on now to help.

Another exciting fall awaits us. We have the Presidents Fall

Workshop, the Fall GMM, OSHA/CPR, the Dental Assistants
Workshop and the IDDS election yet to be completed. Thank you
to our New Dentist Co-Chairs, Drs. Kara Czarkowski and John
Jansen, who organized the successful New Dentists Social, which
was an evening at Duck Pin Bowling. Thank you to everyone who
attended and supported the IDDS Foundations annual golf tournament. I hope to see all of you at the Fall GMM on October 5,
where we will recognize our 10 year members. A special thanks
to Dr. Katy Patton, Chair, and the members of the IDDS Peer
Review Committeethey are the unsung heroes of dentistry. Their
decisions are not always popular with the public or the dentists
involved, but this committee strives to provide a fair approach to
the problems that confront dentists on a daily basis. Their time and
efforts are immeasurable!!

status from active to
newly retired. It has
been an honor and
pleasure to practice
Dentistry for over
38 years. The first 8
years as a member of the National Health
Service Corps in a rural underserved area
in Wisconsin. The last 30 years growing a
thriving practice in Fishers. I will miss the
patients and families we have watched grow
and have their families and grandchildren.
The daily support of my wonderful staff,
many of whom have been with me for over
20 years. With excitement I look forward
to the freedom of an open schedule to do
what I want to do whenever. Especially visiting children and grandchildrenfrom east
coast to west.Once things settle down and
I adjust to this new routine I hope to give
back to this great profession I have been
honored to serve and do volunteer dentistry.
