Formative Assignments - Formative assignments will not be accepted once the class they are
due in is complete. As students we expect you to meet and honor the deadlines set for your
work. Please take note of due dates and stick to them. If you feel your assignment should be
allowed to be turned in late, just talk to me and we will come up with a solution.
Summative Assignments - Summative work will be allowed to be turned in up to one week past
its original deadline. However, for every day that passes the assignment will lose .5 points off
of its final score. This means that an assignment that earns a 4 but is turned in two days late
will be lowered to a 3. Once again if you feel that your work should be graded with no
deduction for being late, talk with me and we can work something out.
Tardy Policy - We will be adhering the schools policy on tardies. You MUST BE IN YOUR DESK
WHEN THE BELL RINGS. If you cant find your way to your seat, then you will need to sign in on
the tardy clipboard and take your seat. If being on time remains a problem, then more drastic
steps will be taken (one-on-one conference, calls home, detention (lunch or after school)).
Food Policy - As a traveling teacher needing to share space with many other teachers and
many other classes, we will follow the food policy of the room we are currently in.
Honors Designation
Vista PEAK would like to emphasize that ALL students are fully capable of obtaining
honors credit. We believe that the honors credit option will greatly enrich and deepen

content areas: Literacy, Math, Science, Humanities, and Pathway college courses
(Currently Business 115 & Maya I)

Program (CSAP) course assessments, and performance based assessments. If at any
time you have questions, please feel free to contact your teachers.

Supplementary Material:
Binder Policy - Students will be keeping their work for each semester in their binders. This
means that once a student receives their graded work, they will be expected to store their work. I
will do random binder checks at least once a week to make sure that this policy is followed. It is
important to keep this up because there will be some assignments that I will need to wait to
grade. In order to make sure your work gets graded, keep it in your binder. The completion
and quality of your binder will count towards your summative grades.
Exams
Exams, projects, and other summative assessments are given about every 4-8 weeks and are recorded
in the gradebook. These assignments will require studying or extra work outside of the classroom.
Class Participation/Attendance
Classroom participation and consistent attendance are crucial for students to be successful in learning the
material and scoring well on assessments. It is the students responsibility to be accountable for their
learning in class. Therefore, if a student misses class it is also their responsibility to ensure that they make
up missed work or learning. Utilize the class website to check on missed assignments and
activities.
Consequences for misuse may include, but are not limited to, suspension of equipment access,
disciplinary action commensurate with the level of misconduct, and/or legal action as
appropriate.
I have carefully read the expectations of this course and agree to support the goals and
initiatives of the course. I will show up, speak up, stand up and go further than I ever thought
possible.
