summary
This article mentions that changes inthe seasons due to climate change can be
harmful to socal and ecological environments. To help show ths, the authors are
measuring the Summer and Winter Teletherms which ae basicaly the average of
the hottest and cokiest days of the year fom 1859-2012, They recorded the
minimum and maximum temperatures rom 1,218 weather stations scattered across
the U.S. With the data collected, they created Teletherm maps of the Summer and
\Winter seasons vith ther diferent temperature extremes compared withthe tme
(i years). This then alowed the researchers to plot signticant climate changes
determined by their Teetherm maps onto a map ofthe US. thus concluding that
the Summer and Winter season's temperature variations are afected by cimate
change.
Limitations
‘The article only focuses on two seasons which are Summer and Winter. And a8 we
ail know, Eartn has four seasons so this research study does not contain sold
evidence that he other two seasons, Fall and Spring are afected ay the climate
change. Ona sid note, as stated inthe aril’ tile “Hottest and Coldest Days of
the Year,” t would only make sense forthe authors to choose Summer and Winter
respectively fo renresent the temperature variations that clmate change has
caused, However that doesn’ mean Fall and Spring arent afected. Due to
numerous human actives ite industiatzation, Earths protective atmosphere
becomes weaker allowing the sun's rays to be more intense as years continue to go
by Unfortunately the study does not explain now al the Earth’ seasons are
affected by cimate change
