Learning Strategies
Teachers Activity
A. Pre-assessment

Students Activity

1. Prayer
Everybody, please stand for the
prayer.
Take your seats.

(The students will stand and pray)

(The students will sit down)

2. Greetings
Good afternoon class!
How are you doing?

Good Afternoon Maam Ras!

Were doing fine Maam.

3. Checking of Attendance
Im glad to hear that. Who are
absent today?

Nobody is absent today!

Very good!
4. Recapitulation
What was our topic yesterday?

Our topic yesterday was the parts of the

flower.

Yes. What are the 4 main parts of

the flower?

The four main parts of the flower are

sepals, petals, stamen, and pistil.

Very good! What is the economic

importance of flowers?

The economic importance of flowers is it

can provide economic resources in the
form of wood, paper, for decoration and
can relieve stress.

Thats right! Flowering plants also

provide economic resources in the
form of wood, paper, fiber (cotton,
flax, and hemp, among others),
medicines (digitalis, camphor),
decorative and landscaping plants,
and many other uses.
B. Motivation
(The teacher will show picture of daisy
and orchid)
What can you observed from the first
picture?
Thats right! What about the second
picture?
Very good! Today, were going to
discuss the types of flowers.

Overview:

I observed that the first picture is

arranged beautifully.
The second picture is not arranged.

Flowers are considered as an organ system

because they are made up of two or more sets, or
whorls, of leaflike structures. A typical flower is
composed of four whorls, which are the sepals,
petals, stamens, and a pistil with one or more
carpels. Much of the variation among flowers is
based on variation of these basic parts.
Variations exist in the structure of flowers.
Describe regular flower?

Regular flowers are flowers with

petals and sepal that are uniform in size
and shape and arranged around the center.

Very good! What is irregular flower?

Irregular flowers are flowers with

petals and sepals that are not uniform in
size or shape.

Yes. Irregular flower is opposite with

regular flowers. Describe complete flower.

Complete flowers are the flowers

which all the parts are present.

Thats right! A flower is referred to as

complete if all four floral organs (sepal, petal,
stamen and pistil) are present in the same flower
structure. What is incomplete flower?

Incomplete flowers are flowers which

on or more parts of the flowers are absent.

Very good! An incomplete flower lacks any

one or more of these parts. Grass flowers are
mainly wind-pollinated and are incomplete,
lacking both sepals and petals. Relying on wind
to accomplish pollination, there is no need for
these organs to attract pollinators. Describe
perfect flower?
Yes! Flowers that contain both sexual flower
parts (stamen and pistil) are called perfect or
bisexual. Describe imperfect flower?

Perfect flowers are flowers when both

the stamen and pistil are present.

Imperfect flowers when flowers lack

any one of the essential parts.

Thats correct! Those that contain either

stamen or pistil only are called imperfect or
unisexual flowers, regardless of whether they
lack sepals or petals. Can incomplete flowers be
perfect?
Thats right! But perfect flowers cannot be
incomplete flowers. Did you understand?

Yes Maam.

Yes Maam.

Pre-Lab Activity:

board. Each group will classify the flowers

Perfect/Imperfect))
(The students will perform the activity)
