Jesus and Muhammad

Most religious experts agreed on some notable similarities between the Son of Man and
the Messenger of Allah throughout the world. Jesus and Muhammad both taught to love
God (God the Father/Allah) above all things. They also displayed the same values like
love, humility, kindness, forgiveness, and sacrifice in their lives. The remarkable faith in
God led them both to sufferings and miseries from their respective adversaries. Both
living in ascetic lives in while spreading the words of God/Allah and casting away all
material enjoyment. Teachings on apocalyptic endings of the earth and all souls will face
the Ultimate Creator at the end of time are surprisingly alike.
While the connection of their lives and teachings matched in some ways, there were
some striking differences between them. Their births differ according to their particular
sources. According to the biblical account, Jesus was conceived without the natural way
of sexual intercourse of His parents, while Muhammad was the fruit of the copulation of
his mother and father. Accordingly, the former is regarded to be divine, the Son of God
who came into flesh. On the other hand, Muslims has no such god-like status of
Muhammad. Instead, they viewed him as a model, an ordinary man, in which every
Muslim must follow. While Jesus never fought an actual battle or war that can result in
physical harm or death to others, Muhammad engaged himself in combat against the
Meccans during the Hijrah. And although they have similar views on the judgment day,
Muslims believed that sinners cannot stay in hell forever as they will eventually rise to
heaven to be with Allah, for God is forgiving and merciful.
The most significant similarity would be the primal teaching of unconditional and
absolute love for God or Allah, which those who give devotion to Him shall have
salvation and eternal life. Oppositely, the most vital distinction between Christ and
Muhammad is how their followers perceive them, a Son of God and a human being
respectively.
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are regarded Abrahamic religions. They all worship
Abraham's God, which due to language differences, translated into different names and
callings. Aside from practicing monotheism, all three religions originated from the Middle
East and considered Jerusalem as a sacred place, which has the same stories of
prophets like Moses, Adam, Abraham, and Isaac. In contrast, Muslims and Jews
rejected the belief of the divinity of Jesus Christ and viewed him only as a prophet. Islam
considered Muhammad as the last and greatest prophet to walk on earth. As Muslims

and Christians believe in the "end of days," Jews are firm that God promised not to
destroy His creation again after the Great Flood.
