General Information
All marine plywoods from Robbins Timber are exclusively manufactured to our
specifications, and are of the highest quality, and approved under one or more
of the following respected standards: BS1088, Lloyds Register Type Approval,
PS1-95, KOMO Class A or C. The fact that one board has a standard which
another of our boards lacks does not necessarily mean the quality is better or
worse, it is usually an indicator of which management system our producing
mill is working to. All our marine plywoods are made in mills which have been
inspected personally by our directors, and carry our own guarantee of quality.
If a particular standard or approval is critical for your project, please let us
know at the time of order which you require. We are always happy to discuss
which is the appropriate board for your project. Full details of the above
standards are available on request.

BS1088 Marine Plywood
Guaranteed for 25 years
This is our top-of-the-range board, and the first choice of many renowned boatbuilding
craftsmen for its aesthetic qualities! It is made from multi-laminate mahogany veneers for
stability, and has extremely high quality Rotary Sapele faces. It is ideal for epoxy coating,
clear finishing or painting. Designed for high loading uses where strength is a prerequisite, it has a superb fine sanded face veneer quality. Super-Elite Plus is extremely
resistant to fungal attack and is ideal for persistently wet and dry environments, and high
hazard areas such the Tropics. Used and approved in high risk applications, and
manufactured to BS1088, KOMO Class A, C and Lloyds certified.

Guaranteed for 15 years
Our best selling board! Exclusively produced to our specification, ROBBINS ELITE is
produced in a Lloyds approved mill ensuring consistent quality. With a pale mahogany
colour, it is ideal for fitting out and general constructional work, along with many other
uses such as bulkheads, panelling, cabin and shower doors etc.. Manufactured from
selected Gaboon (Okoume) veneers throughout, it has an attractive close grained face
which is ideal for varnishing and finishes well. Due to its excellent strength to weight
ratio, it is also very popular for dinghy construction and racing boat building.

With over 200 years of timber trading, Robbins
Timber are proud to continue the tradition of
maintaining large stocks of high quality hardwoods
and softwoods from around the world. We have an
excellent reputation supplying high quality timber to
the marine trade due to our wealth of knowledge
built up over many years. All our staff are trained in
the products we sell in order to help you make the
right choice of timber for your project.
Timber prices on the following pages are intended to
give you a guide price for small order quantities of
our more popular timbers. If you have a larger
enquiry, special requirements, or need a timber
which is not listed please contact us for a no
obligation quote. Please note sizes listed are subject
to availability.
Our purchasing department work very closely with
our supplying mills to ensure the cut and grades of
timber we purchase are suitable for our customers
needs, meaning that we are able to provide the
widest choice of timber at very competitive prices.
We can machine any type of timber into virtually any
moulding to your specification with no minimum
order quantity! We operate one of the largest milling
facilities in South West England, with highly trained
machinists and modern computer controlled
machinery. We supply an increasing number of our
manufacturing
customers
with
machined
components giving them the opportunity to reduce
manufacturing costs and simplify their purchasing of
timber products.
Our environmental policy means that we constantly
seek to increase our range of hardwoods and
softwoods which are proven to have been produced
from sustainable sources. We hold both FSC and
PEFC Chain of Custody Accreditation and are able
to supply an ever increasing range of products which
are certified under these and other schemes.

why choose teak?
Providing outstanding beauty, strength & durability, Teak is the perfect choice of
timber for all types of yacht & boat building. Teak is generally straight grained of
medium texture and appears golden brown when first cut darkening with
exposure to light & age. Teak has been the preferred timber for Decks, Rubbing
Strakes, Gunwales, Cabins and Internal Joinery for nearly 150 years.
durability
Teak can claim Durability Class 1, the highest possible. It is extremely resistant to marine borers and is impervious to sea
water. A deck laid in Teak is guaranteed to out-last any other comparable species available.
the origin
Our Teak comes mainly from natural forests within Asia. In more recent times fast grown plantation Teak has been available
from places such as Nigeria but the quality is inconsistent, and unsuitable for marine applications.

We source both square edged boards and whole felled logs, and offer the widest range of sizes available anywhere in Europe.
Our stocks of logs enable us to offer widths up to 20 and thicknesses ranging from 3/4 - 4, and lengths from 3 to 20.

Traditional cutting of sawn logs have almost disappeared and with it, the skill to produce stable boards for decking. Robbins

RAPID STRIP
MariNe adHesiVes
Collano Semparoc is a simple, cost effective and reliable
waterproof glue which is easy to use in a wide variety of
conditions. It is often used in marine projects for normal bonding
applications prior to Epoxy coating due to its comparative low cost
and minimal waste.
Because Collano Semparoc cures by contact with the natural moisture
present in all timbers and plywoods, it can be used in many situations
where other types of glue would fail. Being a single part adhesive, waste
is virtually eliminated, and excess cured glue can easily be removed from
the work piece using a scraper. Collano Semparoc is a solvent free
adhesive, and once cured is resistant to weak acids, alkalis and a large
number of organic solvents.

know what you need, and we will give you a price including delivery if required. You may also download an
enquiry form from our website, or we can email or fax the form to you. If you need an item machined to pattern,
we can accept drawings by post, fax or email in most file formats.
