I read some guy's study that claims for 1.

Earth isn't nearly as overpopulated as it is

claimed even if we take current 7 billion figure as truth. We live in just about 20-30
percent of it's landmass and away from several main hubs earth is moderately or
quite sparsely populated and can support 3-4 times more people easily though they
would not live as comfortably. His 2nd claim is that 7+ billion population figure is
way way overblown because it adds up results of censuses of countries that lie
about their population. His proof- Some developing countries are quite competitive
towards their neighbours and are often under preasure to show off their strength
and tweak upwards the census figures from time to time. This is the case with
mostly socialist and former socialist developing countries that just loved
figures, statistics and numbers (but not only them), and what better figure to show
off prosperity than growth of population. First country that started this practice
according to him is China. Without a doubt it has huge population anyway so it is
near impossible to check. China did not doctor it's results that much like some other
countries did. It happened spontaneously. Census collectors were bribed on lower
levels to show some communities having larger populations because bigger
settlements got more funds from centralised governments. This was most easily
done in larger towns and cities because in smaller settlements it can be checked
much easier but it is very hard to notice difference between city of 4+ million and
10+ million, they are already too big for human mind to comprehend and for the
eyes to see it in one view and households cannot be easily counted by third parties.
As China started to approach the milestone of population of 1 billion it used it to
great effect and that influenced India to start doctoring their own census results so
they too can reach the 1 billion milestone and in time overtake China. India has
much bigger population growth rate than China and by logic it should have
overcome it by now, but since both of them are doctoring their results China
conveniently added just enough people at each census to be ahead of India but it
will have to concede defeat at the next census or it's cover will be blown. India's
neighbours- Pakistan and Bangladesh were feeling threatened by growing
population of India and they were also competitive towards it. They felt that if they
showed too small populations they would look weak and that's where things got out
of hand. Pakistan overplayed it a bit but Bangladesh took it on whole new level. And
so we got into situation where Bangladesh population increased 5 times in just 100
years. A feat that cannot be that easily explained with traditional ,marrying early,
many children ,lower mortality or with immigration of refugees. It surpassed
Pakistan that had similar birth rates and twice as much population 100 years ago.
Bangladesh is small, smaller than Bulgaria, yet it has bigger population than Russia.
I dissmissed all this as bullshit until I went to google earth to see Bangladesh. I
thought, this country has to be like one huge conurbation to hold 152 million people
but to my surprise it's capital is smaller in diameter than Athens that houses 3
million people, and was 2/3 made up of small one story houses that if we are racist
can house at max 10 people but probably less. On the outside of Daka I thought
Bangladesh must be city after city all connected to each other but it is mostly
farmland, with scattered villages, several not too big cities in diameter, flooded river

banks, river islands, huge deltas in south and forrests in the north. It probably can
hold 50 million, but 152 million? I was starting to buy this whole idea of fake censi.
But it truly went out of control in Africa where different regimes really pushed it to a
whole new level. Some countries suddenly had up to 7 times bigger populations
than 100 years ago. They doubled practicaly every 20 years, impossible, not even if
every woman married as early as she could and pumped up children all the way
until her 40s which was not as common as it is thought. Not to mention mortality
and infant mortality in much of those countries remained as high as in the 19th
century and quite a lot were plagued by wars, droughts, hunger and pandemics, not
an ideal place for even one doubling of population. In essence the figure of 7+
billion is too problematic, based in many cases on adding up estimates and
unverifiable censi. For all we know population of the earth could be as low as 3
billion
