What things influenced you to become a missionary? Your own story in some detail might,
be influential in leading others into fulltime service (use back of sheet for more space)?

The actual die&alon for going to the mission field had been in the
process of being made since I was first born#
folHs have brought

me.,.u.p,in the church and I have seen the dire need^of problaimers of
the gospel message in a multitude of ways. This Is something that I
have always wanted to do and besides it fits by abilities.
have
wanted to do many things in serving my Lord and I^knew my dicision
would no doubt have to leave many desire or ambitions out but I find
that I can be most of those things that i have wanted to be by going
to the mission field. I have prayed over this and I am convinced that
this is the Lord's will.

He has backed me to the last straw ever since

my mind began to consider it. Besides this I have some wonderful backing
from my family which has helped considerably.

Describe briefly in outline form the nature of your daily duties on the field.
The daylight activities will be centered around study and preparation for the evening activities

I am here only for the summer work. I am returning to the states
August 19, 1960. We arrived here via TWA from St. Louis to Miami; via
British West Indies Airways (BWIA) from Miami to Montego
, Jamaica;
Kingston, Jamaica; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Antigua, B.V/.X.; Martinique,

F.W.I. (French West Indies); and Barbados, B.W.I. (British West Indies).
Y/e left St. Louis, Lambert Airport, at 9:30 P.M. DST May 30, 1960^
and arrived at 8:15 p.m. EST. Y/e flew Boeing 707 Jet from St. Louis to
Mairai in 2:20 hours. Stayed overnight in Miami and left for Barbados at

8:00 a.m. DST.

We flew the rest of the way on B/ifIA "Prop-Jets" called

"The Vicounts."

We've been here less than 24 hours and are pulling our hair out
already because they drive on the left hand side of the road. Don't
think that isn't a nightmare.

What things influenced you to become a missionary? Your own story in some detail might
be influential in leading others into fulltime service (use back of sheet for more space)?
Contact v;ith students at Pacific Bible Seminary influenced me
to consider attending Bible college end dedicating my life to some
phase of specialized Christian work. The foreign mission field was
always in my mind as a possible means of fulTilling this commitment.
Other types of service also challenged me, such as Christian journalism
(I had always wanted to be a writer) and Christian education. I wanted
to get as much education as I could before making a final decision.
However, engagement to Tracy Wilhoit and subsequent nErriage hastened
this decision, to my satisfaction, so that now my plans are united with
his toward Barbados.

Describe briefly in outline form the nature of your daily duties on the field.

Will be working with Tracy, doing all his secretarial work, filing,
and other paper vjork; helping set up a Christian education program,
teaching, calling, working in summer with camps and vacation Bible

schools; youth workj looking for opportunities to write.
