Unsatisfactory Condition of the School Canteen

On behalf of the students of SMK Seri Perdana, I would like to express my
dissatisfaction on the condition of the school canteen. I humbly hope that the school
authorities will address the issue immediately to alleviate the sufferings of the students.
2.
Im currently studying in 3 Bakti. In my three years of studying in the school, I
have to say that the poor condition of our schools canteen is getting (worse/worst).
Firstly, the floor is flooded with dirty rubbish and is not cleaned properly. Although
there are dustbins available around the area, they are insufficient to accommodate/cater
for all the 1,300 students. The food scrappings/leftover thrown in the dustbins are often
spilled out of the bins and this causes an unpleasant smell. On a more alarming note,
the dirty dustbins have caused (vermins/pests) such as cockroaches and rats to breed in
the secluded canteen area. Last week, one of my friends from 3 Nilam found a big, fat
cockroach in his Nasi Lemak plate he just bought at the canteen. We were utterly
shocked by this incident and therefore we feel that the school authorities should take a
serious action to avoid it from happening again in the future.
3.
Secondly. an equally health-threatening problem is that food sold in the canteen
are often not covered properly. The canteen workers do not take the students health
safety into their consideration/seriously when they always leave the keropok lekor, fried
noodles and drinks open unattended/uncovered. There are also flies everywhere and
although we have requested for clean plates and cutlery, most of the time there are only
dirty forks and spoons available.
4.

On the other hand, the price . (Problem 3)

5.
I had discussed with my classmates and we (recommend/ suggest) that the
school authorities to (provide/buy) more plastic bags and put more recycling dustbins in
the canteen. Also, we suggest that weekly teachers-in-charge to make a frequent
cleaniness check on the food at the canteen to ensure the canteen is always clean and
comfortable to students. Lastly, we hope that the school authorities could take an
immediate action to improve the poor canteen condition. If necessary, the canteen could
be relocated. Thank you.
