Weather monitoring
Gather real-time weather data such as:
temperature,
humidity,
wind speed, etc.
from various sensors at multiple locations in Sri City and
make it available to users through a web portal for easy
viewing (E.g. http://weather.sricity.in/bcentre/index.htm).
Combine it with other sources of weather data such as IMD
website and present to users using easy-to-use visualization
tools.
Show predictions in the short and medium term.
Detailed specification of projects is to be drawn up by
students in consultation with Dr. Venkatesh (Sri City).

Transportation management
GPS tracking of vehicles: The users should be able to see
location of a desired set of vehicles (e.g. IIIT cars and buses)
on a web GIS map in real time.
Car pooling/Vehicle usage management: Develop a web
portal for faculty to place transportation requests and for a
coordinator to plan and meet these requests. Appropriate
SMS alerts should be generated.

Survey of transportation requirements: Collect data on type

of trips made by Sri City residents each week and understand
their key transportation requirements. Provide a mobile app
for this purpose so that the resident can say what purpose
each trip is for.
Detailed specification is to be drawn up by students in
consultation with Dr. Siva prasad and Mr. Sunil.
