My ancestral home is gone. So too is my hunting-gathering way of life.

The compensation I get is hardly enough. Without a permanent job, I
dont know how I will settle my debts.
Ever since the dam was completed, we dont have to worry about dry
taps or carrying pails of water up to our flats anymore. What a relief!
Damming up rivers is extremely destructive to our fragile environment.
The impact is negative and has far-reaching consequences. Often, the
damage done is irreversible. We lose rare species of flora and fauna
unique to the area.
The children and their families now enjoy better access to health
facilities including free medical check-ups and medicine. The new
primary and secondary schools built near the resettled area are fully
equipped.
Now I can enjoy canoeing and fishing with my family without having to
go far. I also can enjoy watch migrating birds here. This dam project
really cater those outdoor enthusiast like me!
