Written Assignment #1
1. It suits you. / It fits you.
Context:
I will teach the uses of fit and suit in a lesson plan for an elementary level in a
context of a shopping mall. I would use the text based framework. I would have
the Ss talk to each other about their experiences in a shopping mall, if they like
it, who with they go, where do they go, etc. Then I will use a spoken text of two
friends who went shopping and started talking about some clothes. Next, I
would guide them with some questions about the reading focusing on the
target language: suit and fit.
Checking understanding:
I will check understanding through some CCQs:
Was the white T-shirt the correct size for Daniel? (No, it didnt fit
him.)
Did the blue dress make Anna more attractive? (Yes, it suited her.)
Then, I will show Ss two or three pictures with different clothing and ask them if
they think the clothes would fit them or suit them. (Yes/No questions)
