Road To Riches
Introduction
This is the moment youve been waiting for, the main reason you bought this book.
You wont be disappointed. In this long and detailed chapter, I will explain the strategies
and give you step-by-step directions to achieving your first 100k, 1 mil, 10 mil, and 100
mil.
Although I'll make this guide as easy to follow as possible, it will still require some work.
Becoming rich isnt possible by typing in some secret code. You have to work your way
up.
Basic Strategies
Before we begin with the specific strategies (how to actually get rich).
Lets first look at some basic strategies that we can use to get rich quickly and stay
rich for as long as possible.
This section is important and you shouldnt skip it. A lot of this may seem unnecessary
or theoretical, but it really is necessary and while it may be theoretical it will really help
you someday.
Making Friends
I had a hard time deciding whether to put this section
before the last two or after and although I put it after, I
sometimes regret it.
The one thing you dont want to do, though, is beg for things.

For the same reason, you should learn to play around with
the prices a little to see what sells best for what price.
I first started Merchanting a while back. I remember that it was a Sunday. I was selling
some coal that I had mined (it was worth around 100 gp back then).
I had just sold my 100 gp coal
for 110 gp each when I heard
someone else selling 100
coals for 90 gp each.
Something clicked in my
head and I quickly bought
that guys coal. I then sold it
for 110 gp each.
I got a 2k gp profit!
Wow, this was genius.
I started working the system. I ended up buying random amounts of coal for 100 gp
each until I had about 1k of them.
Then I would go to world one and sell them for 150 each.
That was major profit for me back then.
Of course, I didnt realize back then that my brilliant strategy was already being used by
hundreds of players.
I liked Merchanting when I first started and I liked it a week later when I was getting
richer and richer. I actually created a small business for myself.

Free Players
I am going to divide the actual guide to becoming rich into two parts.
One part will be for free players, the other for members.
Members can use the methods made for free players, but free players cannot use the
methods made for members.
For this reason, Free Players will be first.
12
0-100K
This is going to be the hardest part of the guide, but Ill simplify it and explain it as
much as possible.
13
Then, once you hit 15, you can start mining iron ore
and selling it through the grand exchange.
It would be cold-hearted of me to just tell you mine iron and not tell you how and
where.
The best place to start mining is near Falador. Falador is northwest of Lumbridge.
To get to Falador from Lumbridge, go around the north side of the castle (on the
outside) and follow the little dirt path west until you see a paved road.
Follow the road north to a small town (Draynor).
Copyright RunescapeTopSecrets, www.RunescapeTopSecrets.com - All Rights Reserved
14
Follow that path until you pass the farm. Right after
the farm there is a road leading north.
Follow that road until you get to some gates. Now, youre at Falador! Go a bit more
north until you get to a bank (the east bank).
Once you get to the bank, deposit everything except for the
bronze pick-axe that you got in tutorial island.
If you lost that pick-axe, there is a free one close by. To get to it,
you have to go to the building south of the bank you are in.
Go around on the east side of the building and go through the
opening to the square. Then open the northwest door and look
on the crate.
There should be a bronze pick-axe there. Grab it and equip it.
15
There are two rocks you can mine at this point: tin and copper. This location has both
of these.
If youre not sure what kind of ores a rock has, right click on it and click on Prospect
rock.

16
Once you mine them, just drop them where you stand
(or give them away to make things go faster).
Getting to level 15 shouldnt take you long at all. The last time I did it, it took me less
than an hour.
Just keep working at it. Dont get sidetracked and stay on task.
Remember that your goal is money, not XP.
Focus on getting to level 15 mining as fast as possible and ignore anything else.
Occasionally, you will get gems. Gems (uncut ones) are worth a lot of money and if you
get them, save them and sell them later.
17
All three are much closer to the bank than this location which
is good because you want to get your first 1,000 iron ores
as fast as possible so you can get to the real gold earning.
The first location is actually right under Falador. Its called the Dwarven Mine.
Do be careful if you go here, though. There are level 14 and 32 scorpions that will attack
and kill you if youre not careful.
I wouldnt recommend this location if you are not at least level 10 combat, but it is close
to the bank and usually emptier than the other locations (not many people like dealing
with scorpions ).
To get to this spot, start at the east bank in Falador again (the same one we were at
earlier).
Follow the path east until you get to the center (the road leads to a little circle
surrounded by huts).
Get off the pavement and walk northeast until you either get to the party room (a
huge room; youll know it if you see Part Pete in there) or the east wall.
Either way, keep going northeast until you get to a small building in the corner with
some stairs leading down. Go down the stairs.
There are two spots with iron here (there are more but they are farther away).
The first is a bit southwest of the stairs. The other spot is just northwest of the first spot.
18
19
To get from Falador to Varrock, follow these directions: Go to Faladors northern gate and
follow the road northeast, then east.
Once you get to Barbarian village, cross the bridge to the east and follow the road until you get to a
bank. Once you reach the bank, youre in Varrock.
20
The location to the southeast of Varrock is probably the better of the two because it has
more iron ores.
However, the place is usually crowded so youll have to get a better pick-axe/mining
level to beat the crowd to the ores.
21
22
You will appear in a random place in the cave. Follow one of the
corridors to a room with a huge column in the center.
Click on the white column to begin mining essence. Once youre done mining the
essence, find a portal in the room and click on it. Bank the rune essence and repeat.
23
24
25
26
27
If youre a member, you can get to a bank pretty quickly from this
location by using the shortcut in Faladors south wall
(on the west side of the southern wall).
That way, you can bank your cowhide in the west bank, saving yourself lots of time.
Cows are a great place to start but, if youre really poor and have no weapon/armor, the
cows can be a bit hard to fight.
For those of you who cant handle cows but still want to stay in the combat area, I
recommend the chicken.
28
29
There are many (many, many) other things you can do to get to your first 100 thousand
gp, but I hand-picked these several methods as the best ways to achieve your first goal
to becoming a very rich player.
If you follow these plans, I guarantee that you will get your first
100 thousand gp in less than a few days.
You do have to stick to it, though. Saying, Ill get 1,000 iron ores, is easy but actually
doing it requires a lot of work and patience.
Dont give up because something is taking longer than you thought. Keep working at it.
Think about the ending when youre in the beginning and make that your fuel.
Its not impossible and in fact very possible if you just stick to the plan.
30
100k 1 Million
From here on out (until the end of the Free Player section) most of the methods of
getting rich will be less do this to get this.
The methods I'll teach you from now on will be hypothetical.
31
32
Confirm the offer and wait a few minutes for someone to sell you the runes.
Once the offer goes through, take the fire runes and
go into the Grand Exchange again.
But this time were going to be selling for the highest price. Be patient again. It usually
takes longer to sell than it does to buy.
33
When your sale comes through, youve made your first move
towards becoming a very rich man/woman.
If it does not sell, then it may be that fire runes are no longer used as much or that
people just dont buy for the highest price any more.
34
Dont just buy for the lowest price and sell for the
highest price all the time.
If you cant buy anything for a very long time, try increasing the price youre buying for
by a little bit. And if youre selling for the maximum price, try lowering it if your sale isnt
going so well.
In the end it all comes down to what you know. Is there going to be an update featuring
a new skill? Will there be any demand for a certain item?
If there is, then the price of the item will likely raise.
35
1 Million 10 Millions
By now you should have at least one mil gp. I would actually recommend getting a bit
more (around 1.5-2 mil) before starting this, but you can do it on a lower income, too.
What you need to start doing now is Merchanting larger items like expensive armors
and weapons. Rune armors and weapons work very well here.
36
37
Use the tools you have wisely, monitor price changes and item demand, and most
importantly have patience.
Sales can take a while.
38
39
0-100k
The first 100k is the hardest part of getting rich.
But members have it much easier than free world players. For one thing, all of the skills
that we used to get ourselves up in the previous section are much easier to use.
There are better locations to mine, there are better places and creatures to kill for
special items, and better equipment to use for the skills.
There are also other, easier things you can do to gain gold pretty fast. In this section
well explore some of these.
Note that there are more than the ones I put here, but these are the ones I think youll
benefit from most.
To begin, lets add a new location to mine iron at.
40
But the place is pretty far from Lumbridge or any of the free world cities.
41
The next thing Ill share with you is the magic of pure essence.
Pure essence is an upgrade from the old rune essence that you mined back in the free
world.
42
43
44
45
Snape grass appears in only a few places in Runescape. Ill show you the best location.
46
100k-100 Million
From here on out, the directions are about the same.
But if youre a member you do have a big advantage over a free player because you
can participate in up to six transactions at once (wherein free players can only do three).
You also have a much larger item spectrum to choose from. Try to choose items that
people use a lot of and play with the prices.
Once you get to 1 mil, you can start investing in more worthy items.
47
Profitable Skills
I made this section for those of you who still prefer to gain money while training your
skills.
Mining
Mining is a very good skill to start off with and an
even better one to continue training.
We talked about iron ore being worth about 100 gp each.
By the time you reach level 40 mining (and get at least an addy pick-axe) iron should be
coming to you with one click of the button.
But you can, of course, move on to other ores. I wouldnt recommend coal unless youre
a member.
Coal areas are usually very crowded and you can get about 4-5 times as much iron ore
than you can coal.
48
Fishing
Fishing is a skill that is pretty useless in the free world.
But in a members world, fishing is one of the best skills to use.
Woodcutting
Woodcutting is probably one of the most popular skills
in Runescape, and for a good reason.
It is very profitable in both free worlds and member worlds.
Woodcutting really only gets profitable after you get to level 60 (for a free world player
at least).
Members have the option of selling maple logs for about 100-150 gp each at level 45.
But yew logs are the real gems of the skill. Yew logs are worth about 400-450 gp each
and are bought constantly.
Members can also cut down magic logs and sell them for about 1k gp each.
Runecrafting
I consider Runecrafting to be one of the
hardest skills to master.
It really does take a lot of work, but the work pays off. At first things may seem slow.
Youll only get one air rune for one rune essence so youll actually be losing profit. But
dont worry.

49
Farming
Farming is probably one of the
most underestimated skills.
You see, the riches of farming dont like in fruits and vegetables, they lie in the herbs;
the ranarr weed, to be more exact.
Ranarr seeds can be planted at level 32 and they will make you a lot of profit.
Combat
Combat is probably one of the more fun skills to train
but it is usually not profitable.
